5 Preface We are happy to present the new edition of our bi-annual ICT Market Report. As previous editions the present publication is the result of a long-standing co-operation between Bitkom Research and a broad range of partners who make this a truly unique European initiative. The EITO reports are produced by a group of international ICT experts the EITO Task Force in close cooperation with IDC, a leading global market intelligence firm. The EITO Task Force brings together experts from 10 EITO partner associations across Europe, the EU Commission, the OECD as well as our sponsors. The ICT Market Report 2014/15 provides the reader with an intimate understanding of the dynamics and trends shaping the ICT markets. The report focuses on developments in Europe while also covering major international ICT markets such as the U.S., Japan and China. We continue to devote special sections to the analysis of user and technology trends in Europe. Key trends analyzed include mobility, cloud computing, social business & technologies, big data & analytics. The report is structured as follows: Section A examines at the European ICT market. It includes two major chapters, the first presenting an in-depth analysis of the market dynamics and trends in Western Europe and the second looking into developments in Central and Eastern Europe. Both chapters start with a comprehensive analysis of key developments at the regional level and then go on to present country findings. The scope of the country analyses varies. More detailed data and narrative are available for countries that are formally affiliated with EITO and thus represented on the EITO Task Force. Section B includes ICT market data and forecasts for Brazil, China, India, Japan, Turkey, and the USA. Sections C presents data of the worldwide ICT market and Section D contains summary tables including all countries.
