Information dominance across the battlespace is a key component of the network-centric C4 (Command, Control, Communications and Computers) systems of the modern defence forces and homeland security agencies. Understanding this, ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) [STEE-InfoComm] is committed to provide solutions to our customers to achieve this objective. Our solutions include complete life-cycle support that comprises system design, development to system integration, project management, maintenance and provision of 24x7 managed services. TACTICAL COMMUNICATIONS & NETWORKING STEE-InfoComm provides leading edge wireless and wired network solutions for air, land and sea communications. Focusing on software-enabled technologies and datalink development, our range of tactical systems includes software-defined radios, handheld programmable radios, aerial communication networks, intelligent unmanned vehicle communications and datalinks. As a leading system integrator and solutions provider for wide area tactical networks covering both terrestrial and non-terrestrial communications, we offer state-of-the-art solutions and technologies ranging from military area communication networks to commercial technologies such as WiMAX. We are also fully capable of hardening COTS-based systems to meet the challenges of the military tactical environment. PLATFORM C4I INTEGRATION With in-depth engineering knowledge and proven track records, STEE-InfoComm designs and integrates C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence) systems for various types of naval and army command or combat platforms such as Frigates, Armoured Fighting Vehicles and Mobile Command Posts (MCPs). These C4I systems include vehicle navigational systems, computers, comprehensive range of communication systems and air, sea and land-based sensors. The systems are customised and fully integrated with C2 (Command and Control) decision support tools for responsive decision making. STEE-InfoComm utilises products from our extensive network of global partners or in-house developed systems such as the ruggedised distributed PC (dpc) and the award-winning SuperneT family of communication solutions. The SuperneT solutions facilitate seamless voice and data convergence and interconnectivity between diverse communication media, thus enabling commanders to achieve direct connectivity with forces using disparate communication systems. To facilitate the varied requirements of defence and security forces, we design and build various types of MCPs to meet the C4I needs of our customers. The MCPs are designed to provide superior mobility, fast deployment, active and passive protection as well as robustness for various environments.

4 SOLDIER SYSTEMS & URBAN OPERATIONS As a pioneer in developing advanced soldier systems in Singapore, STEE-InfoComm provides comprehensive on-going programmes that progressively enhance the soldier s situational awareness, survivability, lethality, mobility and sustainability. These factors are essential for dismounted soldiers, especially in urban operations. The advanced soldier system enables the soldier to be fully networked with other C4I or fighting platforms for intelligence sharing, improved situational awareness and enhanced fire power, thereby increasing the overall combat effectiveness. The advanced soldier system ranges from basic PDA-based systems to sophisticated wearable computer systems. It adopts open architecture and a modular design to suit different mission requirements, thereby offering minimal combat load and easier maintenance. The design of the soldier system focuses on reduced load with extended operating duration to increase the fighting effectiveness of the soldier. SURVEILLANCE & TRACKING STEE-InfoComm s skill in leveraging dual-use technologies, coupled with our extensive experience in providing defence C4I systems and ability to harness leading-edge technologies from the commercial sector, have aptly enabled us to develop advanced surveillance and tracking systems for defence and homeland security applications. These systems deploy a wide variety of above-surface and under-water, day and night sensors of various electromagnetic and accoustic spectrums. When deployed with suitable communication systems, they monitor and track potential targets, forces and assets. Powerful C2 or other application software is used to enable system operators to control sensors and communication systems and to integrate all real-time information for decision making, incident management, asset optimisation and simulation. The surveillance systems are particularly useful for coastal, border and defence surveillance as well as key installation protection. We also develop asset tracking systems to help customers utilise their resources optimally. ELECTRONIC WARFARE STEE-InfoComm supports a variety of Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions for land, sea and air. These solutions provide military and homeland security agencies with varying levels of detection, disruption, protection as well as spectrum monitoring and direction finding. The array of field-proven EW capabilities includes consultancy and solutioning for real-time interception, comprehensive surveillance and intelligence, and locating of radio, GSM, WiFi, internet, radar and satellite facilities. In addition, we also provide solutions to meet the demands of enhanced safety for troops and security agencies against RCIED (Radio Control Improvised Explosive Devices) threats.
