2 Bug Number: UDevC (Interplay) If you checked in a sequence containing Matte Keys, and then checked the sequence out, the Matte Key might disappear. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC The editing application now limits the number of media files that can reside in a folder. Once it reaches 5000 files, a new folder is created. Fixed in v and v The following were fixed in Avid Media Composer v , Avid NewsCutter v , and Avid Symphony v Bug Number: UDevC When layering keyable effects in the Timeline, some of the graphics did not key through. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If you added an Audio Suite Plug-in to an audio segment in the Timeline, rendered it and then performed some Add Edits, checked the sequence into Interplay and then checked it out on another system, some of the segments from the Add Edits would be unrendered. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Certain Title Deko- based effects on filler that had a 25 frame dissolve at the end of the clip would not allow the dissolve to render. This has been fixed. Fixed in v and v The following were fixed in Avid Media Composer v , Avid NewsCutter v , Avid Symphony v Bug Number: UDevC Performing a Send to Playback did not perform an audio mixdown with the correct mixdown settings from the Media Creation window. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC You might have received Access violation errors when performing an audio punch-in. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Occasionally, only 40 seconds of audio was available after importing a Windows Media audio file. This has been fixed. 2

This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Previously rendering effects through the Clip menu rendered starting from the bottom track up to the top track. Rendering using the Render button rendered top track to bottom. Now both modes render from the top track to the bottom which produces superior image quality and prevents inconsistent render results. Bug Number: UDevC P2 clips were going offline after a consolidation. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC You might have seen tearing or shaking on titles. This occurred on imports with alpha or color correction. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Selecting Ctrl+Z (Undo) was not always available. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Perfoming JKL might have resulted in an audio loop or an Fatal exception error. This has been fixed. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC When trying to checkin a sequence or bin with an illegal character in its name to Avid Interplay resulted in a saving composition error. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC (Interplay) Captured files were not always appearing in the Interplay Window folder. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Previously, you could not delete the T1_Avid_DS_Composition.stt Send To template. This has been fixed. 3

4 Bug Number: UDevC (Symphony and Media Composer) Clips created over timecode breaks were being named after the target bin name rather than the clip name. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If you had performed an add edit and your incoming clip had a dissolve and the audio track was set to MID pan, if you checked the sequence into Interplay and then checked it back out, the incoming clip s MID pan would be lost. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If you performed an export on an editing application on the Windows Vista OS, the quality of the export was lower than if you had exported on the Windows XP system. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If there were no drive settings selected in the Media Creations settings, the editing application was not selecting the most available drive by default. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC In the Windows Media Export dialog, switching between the audio and video tabs resulted in the audio settings not sticking, followed by an assertion failed error when trying to save. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Performing a fast import of QuickTime DVCPRO HD 100 resulted in white video. This has been fixed. Fixed in v and v The following were fixed in Avid Media Composer v , Avid NewsCutter v , Avid Symphony v Bug Number: UDevC When performing an edit while capture, you might have received a PGLUE error when trying to play an MPEG clip that was not completely ingested. Bug Number: UDevC On a Vista 64 system, you might have received Unable to allocate memory for operation errors when working in the Timeline. A problem was diagnosed while allocating memory space specifically for the Avid Pan & Zoom effect. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If the Interplay folder verification dialog box opened during an Edit While Capture, the capture was aborted. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC The Verify Checkin Folder was enabled, even if the setting displayed it as disabled. This has been fixed. 4

This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC When working with LongGOP media, you might have seen a Media Offline slate when playing back on air from AirSpeed Multi Stream. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC When working with LongGOP edit while capture clips, you might have received a Serious error has occurred message. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC You might have received an Audio Communications error if you were scrubbing in the Timeline with Caps Lock on and Audio Tool channels set to I. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC The Video ID/Tape ID was not added to the Interplay database during a send to playback operation from an editing system. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC You might have received an XML error when trying to check in Broadcast WAVE files to Interplay. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC The Console Command enablecommitmulticam was not persistent when the application was restarted. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC In the previous patch, this TMClient.ini bug fix was listed as fixed for Vista systems. It was not fixed on Vista systems. This patch now saves the TMClient.ini settings file to the correct folder.: Vista: \ProgramData\Avid\EditingApplicationName folder. 5

6 Fixed in v and v The following were fixed in Avid Media Composer v , Avid NewsCutter v , Avid Symphony v Bug Number: UDevC (Nitris DX) If you switched from an HD project type to an SD project type and then back to HD, audio on SDI embedded HD output would stop working or go silent. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Previously, Interplay folder site settings might not have been sticking. The Interplay Folder settings dialog box has been updated to include an option that allows you to verify the path to the Interplay Checkin Folder. To ensure that the objects that you check in are checked in to the correct Interplay folder, the first time you check in from a bin, a message box asks you to verify the folder into which the objects will be checked in. The path displayed is based on the path that is set in the Interplay Folder Settings. This message box does not appear if you already opened the Interplay Folder Settings for this project during the editing session. To check the objects into the specified folder: t Click OK. To change the default path, or turn off the display of this message box: 1. Click Change Setting. The Interplay Folder Settings dialog box opens. 2. (Option) To change the default path (Interplay Root Folder), click Set. 3. (Option) To prevent the message box from displaying, clear the check box for Verify directory path on first checkin. 4. Click OK. Bug Number: UDevC Consolidating XDCAM clips that were longer than 1 hour resulted in Access violations. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If you saved changes to the TMClient.ini settings in the Transfer Settings, the file was not saved to the correct folder. This has been fixed. It is now saved to the: XP: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Avid\EditingApplicationName folder. Vista: \ProgramData\Avid\EditingApplicationName folder. Bug Number: UDevC Importing Cantar audio wav files into a 720p50 project displayed incorrect timecode. This has been fixed. 6

7 Fixed in v and v Bug Number: UDevC If you pasted text from Microsoft Word into Interplay Assist, some spaces between words were lost. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Previously, if a file with Japanese characters in its name was imported to the editing application in an Interplay environment, the media file would not link properly to the metadata in the bin. This has been fixed. Fixed in v and v The following were fixed in Avid Media Composer v , Avid NewsCutter v , Avid Symphony v Bug Number: UDevC Previously, resolutions were missing from the Media Creation Capture tab when you first created a project. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Audio Scrub performance had deteriorated. This occurred with software only or with an Adrenaline attached. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If you duplicated a sequence after checking it out of Interplay, the foreground in a nested PIP was replaced by the background on V1. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC A New Project always defaults to the NTSC 30i project type. This has been fixed. A New Project defaults to the most recently created project type. Bug Number: UDevC When working with the FilmScribe application, you might have received Changelist length errors. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If you modified a tape name, performing a consolidate reverted the tape name back to the original name. This has been fixed. Fixed in v and v The following were fixed in Avid Media Composer v , Avid NewsCutter v , Avid Symphony v Bug Number: UDevC Performing an Audio Punch In was resulting in a PMM _insufficient _media error. This has been fixed. 7

8 Bug Number: UDevC When performing a consolidation with more than two P2 AMA clips, the application would freeze when the media was being accessed using a MediaNet ethernet attached client. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If you loaded clips from the Interplay Window to the Source monitor and then loaded filler in the Source monitor, eventually loading filler would fail. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC When loading clips that are not referenced by any open bins from the Interplay window to the source monitor and then loading more clips might have resulted in Can t delete mob because it is still being referenced errors. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Loading clips from the Interplay Window into the Source monitor sometimes resulted in bin items disappearing. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC When attempting to render a sequence that contained AudioSuite plugin effects, if you did not have the AudioSuite window open, you would be prompted to either cancel the render so the AudioSuite window could be opened or to bypass the AudioSuite plugin effects. If you chose to bypass, the AudioSuite plugin effects would contain clicking when played back. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Previously, Audio levels might have changed after rendering. For example, if you created a sequence with an audio clip, changed the gain level in the Audio Mixer tool and then added an AudioSuite plugin and performed a render, the sequence would be fine. If you then added an Audio EQ effect and rendered, the gain level would be added again. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC A 1394 No Input Signal Present error on the video track in the capture tool could cause either the Audio tool to fail or audio monitoring issues in the Audio Punch-In Tool.This has been fixed. Fixed in v and v The following were fixed in Avid Media Composer v , Avid NewsCutter v , Avid Symphony v Bug Number: UDevC Previously, you would not receive a warning if you tried to send a sequence containing a resolution below the minimum setting. For example, if you set your minimum resolution warning setting to MPEG30 and then tried to send an MPEG2 sequence to playback, you would not receive a warning indicating you are sending a sequence containing a resolution below the minimum setting. This has been fixed. 8

9 Fixed in v and v Bug Number: UDevC Previously, you would receive an INPUTOUTPUT_FILE_NOT_FOUND error in the record monitor after deleting a precompute file from the Media Tool. This has been fixed. Bug Number: Using the F5 key in the Interplay window did not refresh any folders. This was fixed in a previous release of Avid Media Composer and Avid NewsCutter. This has now been fixed in Avid Symphony. Fixed in v and v The following were fixed in Avid Media Composer v , Avid NewsCutter v , Avid Symphony v Bug Number: UDevC Timeline waveforms would redraw randomly and inconsistently. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Performing a QuickTime Reference export of MPEG media resulted in an Exception: Structured Exception on a Windows system, and a Bus Error on a Macintosh system. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Setting the TC Generator Y position to a value greater than 505 caused the application to freeze. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC If you adjusted audio levels by adding keyframes, once you checked the sequence into Interplay, when you checked out the sequence, the gain level changes were ignored during playback. This has now been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC You might have received an Assertion Failed. Could not initialized Player error after capturing or importing clips. This was an intermittent error. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC A new firmware update has been included for the Adrenaline to fix the capture of certain video signals. Bug Number: UDevC Previously, you could not check in a bin that had contained XDCAM AMA clips. Even though the AMA clips were deleted, you still received a Checkin to Interplay of AMA clips not allowed error message. This has been fixed. Fixed in v and v and v The following were fixed in: 9

This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC Search options in the Avid Interplay window, such as a blank search in the last hour or last 10 minutes, no longer worked. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC When exporting or consolidating OMF 2 audio sequences, some of the media would appear offline. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC When performing an XDCAM batch import, if you had modified the tape name of the proxy clips, the import would fail. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC After checking a currently ingesting clip into your bin from the Interplay window, and then rechecking it back into Interplay, the next time you clicked on the Interplay window you may have received an Error Linking Assets: Internal, Unknown Error Occurred error. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC (NewsCutter only) Navigating the Directory panel in the NRCS tool by typing a letter to jump to a position that corresponds to that letter might cause a runtime error. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC You might have seen bus errors, invalid attr kind and AvidHandleMgr assertions associated with saving bins and autosave on the Macintosh. Sometimes the bus error would occur before you were notified that an Autosave was taking place, and might not have associated it with saving bins. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC You might have experienced a 3 to 8 second capture delay. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC When you select OMF in the Media Creation Settings window, it switches to MXF after you save the setting and open a new project. This has been fixed. Bug Number: UDevC (Windows Only) After exporting an XDCAM clip to AAF, the XDCAM disk metadata is now preserved on import of that AAF file so that XDCAM batch import now works correctly with the imported clip. Bug Number: UDevC Performing fast scrub in the Timeline would occasionally cause the system to freeze until you pressed Command + period. This has been fixed. 10
