2 WHY THIS PROJECT? To improve the quality of life of people with ID in a technological way. The use of new technologies offers possibilities of communication, leisure and training for many people. Many technological tools are not accessible to people with intellectual disabilities. 2

3 WHY THIS PROJECT? What would you think if you asked a colleague or a friend for his address and he tells you that he does not have it or that he does not use it? 3

4 WHY THIS PROJECT? What does the mean in our lives? The is something we use every day. It is a personal data that we get asked in almost any form of any social area. It allows to communicate and share private information quickly. It is an indispensable tool in work and in anyone s personal life. It is something everyone uses and if you do not have it you are disconnected and not having it makes it more difficult to communicate with you. 4

She will not be able to communicate through this channel. What can she do? How is a person with Intellectual Disabilities and what supports does she need to work? 5

Able to Include People with I.D are people who participate and enjoy in society as the rest of the people around them and also have some limitations to function in their daily lives.

It is harder for them to learn social and intellectual skills in order to act in different situations. Intellectual disability appears before the age of 18. Intellectual disability is not just about the person. It also has a lot to do with the relationship with the environment. In inclusive settings, people with intellectual disabilities can develop many skills. 6

7 Able to Include PRODIS is a foundation committed to people with intellectual disabilities in order to help them in their personal development and inclusion in the workplace. We work to achieve a society, respectful, caring and fair towards people with intellectual disabilities. 7

10 The Prodis Foundation Prodis participates in the area of work environment by evaluating with its users the tool "Able Mail" developed by Ariadna Computer Services (a company that used to develop technological solutions) Evaluation of the tool: Previous evaluation: To develop the Able mail tool, an evaluation of the technological possibilities and the needs of the people with D.I. between Prodis and Ariadna s professionals took place. After creating a first version: Prodis users have tested the Able mail tool and have given their opinion and made recommendations for changes to Ariadna, in order to adapt the tool to their needs needs. Objetive: To create a more practical and inclusive tool for people with ID. 10

Able Mail It is a tool that simplifies the interface of a personal email account of people with ID, specifically

TEXT2PICTO: It translates a text into pictograms. It is a technology that would greatly help people with lower literacy or reading comprehension skills. 19 CONCLUSIONS Barriers to accessing the products and services offered by information technologies favor such projects. Able Mail: has a big potential not only in the work environment, but in the family and social environment also. Advantages: You can use a free google account that can be used through the common google interface or through the Able mail interface. It is an account designed by people with ID and for people with ID. The information of the activities received by the users or parents could be transformed for the person with ID using the Abel to Include project tools (Text2picto, Text2speech, Simplext). It improves the understanding of messages and the handling of the Interface. 19
