2 Kewill Customs > Tools & Reports > KC Reports > Overview Kewill Customs Reports KC Reports Overview Overview Kewill Customs reports are created, scheduled and printed through the Report Selection option. Included below is an explanation on how to do the following: Create a Report Schedule a Report Print or View a Report List of Report Types Available KC-2
3 How to Create a New Report: Step Action Comment 1 From the Tools drop-down menu, select Report Selection. The Select a Report page will display. Select a Report Page: Report Selection Select a Report page The Select a Report page is where you will create, schedule, preview and print reports. KC-3
4 Step Action Comment 2 In the Report No. field, enter the number you would like to assign to the report you are creating. Note: To see a list of existing report numbers already set up, click the question mark icon. (See below) The report number allows you to save the report parameters for re-printing in the future. Note: You may skip this field if you are creating a report to view and/or print and will not be saving the parameters. Select a Report No. pop-up: Select a Report No. pop-up The Select a Report No. pop-up provides a list of all existing reports. You may locate a particular report by entering its report number, report type and/or description and clicking the Find button. KC-4
5 Highlight the one you want and click the OK button. When you click OK, you will be returned to the previous Select a Report page. Select a Report page: Step Action Comment 3 In the Report Type field, enter the Report Type code. If you want to see what report types are available, click the question mark icon to see a list of the existing reports types. When you click the question mark, the Select a Report Type pop-up will display. [See below] KC-5
6 Select a Report Type pop-up: Select a Report Type pop-up The Select a Report Type pop-up provides a list of all existing report types. You may locate a particular report type by entering its report type code and/or description and clicking the Find button or by browsing the list. Highlight the one you want and click the OK button. When you click OK, you will be returned to the previous Select a Report page. KC-6
7 Select a Report page: Step Action Comment 4 In the Description field, you may leave the default report name or enter your own description of the report, based on its purpose and/or frequency. 5 You may select any of the parameters listed in the Report Parameters grid to customize the report. To change a parameter, click the parameter line from the Parameter Description column. The default value is the Report Description from the Report Types table. The Description field allows you to enter your own Report name based on the frequency and/or purpose of the report. When you click on a parameter, it will be highlighted and the specific parameter options will display at the bottom of the page under the grid. KC-7
8 Select a Report page with parameter highlighted: Step Action Comment 6 You may make changes to any of the parameters by highlighting each and making your changes to the parameter(s) value(s). When you are done changing the parameters, the next step is to schedule the report. KC-8
9 How to Schedule a Report Overview Click the Schedule Report button to schedule the printing of the report you have created. When you click the Schedule Report button, the Schedule Report popup screen will display. Report Schedule popup: Field Name Data Entry Comment Schedule Type and Time In the Schedule Type and Time box indicate the timing of the report: Once = the report is generated on the date/time selected. Weekly = to run the report on specific day(s) of the week. Monthly = to print the report monthly, on a specific date of every month. You must select one of the following options for scheduling a report: Once Note that the default scheduled date and time are set to 12 hours in the future. Weekly If you click on this option, the Weekly fields will be activated and you can select which day(s) of the week the report is to be generated. Monthly If you click this option, the Monthly fields will be activated and KC-9
10 Field Name Data Entry Comment you can select which day of the month the report is to be generated. Note: Traffic volumes may affect the processing times for the generation of the reports. Start Date / Run Time Select Days Monthly Distribution In the Start Date field, enter the starting date and time of the first printing. If you selected Select Days above, these Select Days fields will be activated. Click the day or days you would like the report to print. Click on Day if there is a particular day of the month you would like to schedule the report to print. Click in front of The if you would like to specify a particular day (1 st Tuesday, 2 nd Monday, etc.) of the month. Click in front of and/or Print to indicate the type of distribution you would like to set up for the report. Then enter the number of copies to print or send. The default scheduled date and time are set to 12 hours in the future. The days of the week are listed with a checkbox for each. Click on the checkbox for the day(s) of the week you would like the report to print. By entering a number in the month(s) field, you can specify whether the report will print monthly, every other month, quarterly, semi-annually, and so on. Distribution lets you set up the type of transmission you would like to schedule for the report. Valid choices are and/or Print. Enter the address and/or printer device address, based on your selection. Step Action Comment 7 When you are done filling out the Report Schedule pop-up, save the changes by clicking the OK button. When you click OK, the report schedule will be saved with whatever parameter settings you have included. KC-10
11 Select a Report page: Select a Report Once you have entered your parameters and created the print schedule for the report, you have the following button options: Button Action Comment Clear button Delete button Click the Clear button to clear all the parameters entered and begin again. Click the Delete button to delete a report already set up and saved. When you click on the Clear button it clears the codes and data entered into the report parameter fields. When you click the Delete button, the application will ask you to confirm the deletion. When you cofirm that you want to delete the report, the report will be deleted. KC-11
12 Button Action Comment Schedule Report button Save Parameters button Print Preview button Print button Click the Schedule Report button to set up the scheduling and printing parameters for the report. Click the Save Parameters button to save the report number and report parameters entered. Click the Print Preview button to view the report to the screen. Click the Print button to print the report based on the parameters set up. When you click the Schedule Report button, the Schedule Report pop-up will display and allow you to set up the specific print parameters for the report. When you click the Save Parameters button, the parameters entered will be saved. When you click Print Preview, a PDF formatted file of the report will display on the screen. KC-12
13 How to Print a Report Overview In addition to building and scheduling reports for periodic printing, you can print a report on the fly. Step Action Comment 1 Select Report Selection from the Tools Menu. The Select a Report page will display. Select a Report top of page: Step Action Comment 2 You may skip the Report No field or enter (or select) an existing report to print. 3 In the Report Type field, enter or select the Report Type from the Select a Report Type pop-up. If you skip the Report No field, go to the Report Type field. If you entered a Report Number, the Report Type will default into this field. The Report Parameters will display in the grid. KC-13
14 Report Parameters grid: Step Action Comment 4 Review the parameters for the report and make changes to any of the values, as necessary. The parameters will display in the Report Parameters grid on the page. When a parameter is highlighted, it will display under the grid and you can add or change the value(s). Select a Report buttons: Step Action Comment 5 When you are done, click the Print Preview button to view the report on the screen. You can skip this step if you want to immediately print the report. If you click Print Preview, the report will display on the screen. 6 Click the Print report. button to print the When you click Print, the Printer Selection popup will display. KC-14

You may customize them to create your own reports, based on your company s needs. The following reports are currently available in Kewill Customs: ABP ABI Shipment With No Responses KC-16

18 Select a Report page: Select a Report Page The Select a Report page is where you will create, schedule, preview and print reports. Report Types Table The table below describes the Report Type Code, Report Type description and a description of its purpose. Report Type Code Report Type Description Report Purpose ABP ABI Shipment With No Responses The Shipments With No ABI Responses Report lists shipments that have been sent to ABI but for which responses have not been received. 19 Report Type Code Report Type Description Report Purpose Numbers Starting/Stopping Divisions Starting/Stopping Broker Team Tracing Date Number Starting/StoppingDate Exception Date Number Order by Team (Yes/No) Starting/Stopping File Number Sort by File Number/Date (Yes/No) Border (Non-Border, Southern, Northern, All) AIP Pending AII Report The RLF/A.I.I. Invoices Pending to Customs Report (AIP) lists all pending RLF/A.I.I. Invoices to send to Customs for the selection criteria requested. The report includes the following information: the file number, invoice number, Entry Summary type, customer account code, customer name, file logged date, first release date, final release date, date and time sent to ABI, first billing date, Entry summary submission date, port of entry, ABI payment type, ACH (Y/N), User name, ABI status (warning/ rejected/ accepted), ABI message received, and the date message received. BIL Pending/Pre-Bill Report The Pending/Pre-Bill Report is a report that lists any files that have been opened with charges applied, and that have not yet been billed. These charges would have been entered in the Pre-Billing function. The purpose of the Pending/Pre-Bill Report is to provide you with a list of files that have been opened and charges applied to the files but that have not been billed. By alerting you early to a potential problem, you have the opportunity to quickly respond to the situation before it becomes an issue. Recommendation: This report should be printed weekly. Research any item that prints on report to find out why the invoice has not been prepared. KC-19
20 Report Type Code Report Type Description Report Purpose CON Report by Container by Customer The Report by Container by Customer allows you to print your shipment information grouped by container and by customer. The report breaks on Port of Lading, Carrier and Customer and prints the Container totals. Weight sub-totals are printed at each of the data breaks COR Report by Customer/Origin The Report by Customer/Origin lists file numbers and associated data in Customer/Origin order. DFP Duty/Freight Paid Report The Duty/Freight Paid by Customer Report allows you to print all duty/freight amounts paid or you can print a report of just amounts owed or not billed yet. DLY Daily Form Log Report This report lists all files that have the requested form number. You can run this report to see Printed, Unprinted or Both. Usually, the report is used to see if there are any forms that have not been printed that are needed. DUE Duty Due Report The Duty Due Report shows you all shipments that have been released where the 7501 has not been filed with CBP. With proper updating of the release date (either by ABI or manually), this report will show all entries due on a day-by-day basis. KC-20 The purpose of this report is to avoid penalties for late filings of the In order to limit your liability for late filings, you should print this report to see all shipments where the 7501 has not been filed, regardless of the release date. Recommendation: This report should be run on a daily basis to follow up on any shipments for which you have not filed a 7501, or for which you have paid the duty but have not received payment from your customer. ESS Entry Summary Due Report The Entry Summary Due Report shows you all shipments that have been released
21 Report Type Code Report Type Description Report Purpose KC-21 where the 7501 has been filed with CBP. This report will show all entries due on a day-by-day basis and can be sorted by team and/or by port of entry. EXC Exception Report The Exception Report lists all files that have the exception stated in the report parameters. This allows you to set up reports to determine potential problems. For example you might want to see any file where the 7501 hasn't been printed within 10 days after logging the file. This could be a potential issue you would want to correct to avoid fines and complaints from your customers. FDA FDA Response Report The FDA Response Report shows you the files that have FDA errors. This gives you a quick way to know which files need to be corrected. It will not include files that have FDA release and FDA May Proceed. FDR FDA Results Report The FDA Results Report lists all FDA results from Cargo Release processing. The report can be sorted based on the FDA Disposition codes. It can also be sorted either by ALL codes or by a particular code. FLE Report by File Number The Report by File Number provides you with a list of files for the period you select. HTS Report by Tariff Number The Report by Tariff Number is a list of files sorted by tariff numbers. It is used mainly to find information on the types of entries the company is processing. It could also be used to determine if customer's rates should be raised due to the amount of effort it takes to log rarely used tariff numbers. IMM Importer Monthly Statement Report The Importer Monthly Statement Report allows you to give your importers necessary information about the duty that will be collected by CBP for their entries scheduled on Periodic Monthly Statements. Importers can use the report to ensure that when the ACH debit is done by CBP, they have enough money in their
22 Report Type Code Report Type Description Report Purpose accounts to cover the debit. LBR Log book Report The Log Book Report lists shipment detail about each file number. The purpose of the report is record keeping and customer detail. If your computer system is down, you can use this report to track and trace your shipments. The Log Book Report is also a good resource to have CBP ever audits your company. Recommendation: Kewill suggests that you run this report regularly, either once a week or once a month, depending on how you will be using it. LOG Log Status Report The Log Status Report serves many purposes in Kewill Customs. It can be used To determine the number of files per person or division. To report unbilled files. The purpose of the Log Status Report is to report the number of files that were opened and/or completed for an individual, group of individuals and branch/division. The other purpose of the report is to show unbilled files, e.g., files that have been opened but not yet billed, so that you can follow up and make sure they get billed promptly. From this report you can determine the number of files that were opened for a particular location. Recommendation: We recommend that you print both the Used (Open) Log Status Report and the Unbilled Log Status Report at least once a week. LQC Liquidation Report by Customer The Liquidation Report by Customer will give you a listing of all liquidation files sorted by customer. MBF Misbilled Files The Misbilled Files Report is a report that captures misbilled charges. You will be alerted to a billing mistake that results in one of the following A negative net billed revenue, KC-22
23 Report Type Code Report Type Description Report Purpose A missed revenue charge, An expense was billed for a file that exceeded its associated revenue. This report will indicate which files have been billed with negative net revenue for either the entire total of the billings for the file or for specified related charge codes. Use this report to help isolate billing errors. Note: Break Bulk Master files will not be included on this report because they will always have negative balances. PST PDS by Statement Month Report The Periodic Daily ABI Statements by Statement Month Report allows you to list all the daily statement files where Periodic Finals have been received and are due to be included on a monthly statement (PMS). You are able to specify the Periodic Monthly Statement Month number and all ABI statements due in that periodic month will be reported. If the report is printed after the Monthly statements have been received by ABI, the report will include the corresponding Monthly Statement number next to each Daily Statement. An option to list the file numbers associated with a statement is also available. REC Import Recap Report The Import Recap Report lists all duty, MPF fees and HMF fees for a particular customer or a range of customers. The purpose of the report is to show the total duties for a particular customer or a range of customers. You can also list the total duty by file number. The report is mostly a customer driven report. Example: If your customer calls you and wants to know how much duty was paid in his behalf for the year 2009, you could print this report. It would give the customer the information. THC Report by Customer The Report by Customer shows all files by customer for specific date range. KC-23
24 Report Type Code Report Type Description Report Purpose UCR Unresolved Cargo Release Report The Unresolved Cargo Release Report (UCR) identifies unresolved releases. An unresolved release is an entry that has a date 35 (e.g., Last Receipt via ABI Cargo Release Results), but does not have a Date 33 (e.g., Provisional Release Date from Cargo Release). This report allows you to select a range of divisions, port codes and dates (e.g., date 35, last receipt via ABI Cargo Release Results). [last revision date: 09/11/09] KC-24
