1 How To Set Up The Genius Store Builder Theme Step--By--Step Guide For Building Your First Profitable Affiliate Store Thank you for purchasing the InstaGenus plugin. You have received our bonus Genius Store Builder theme. We have prepared a training manual that we hope will assist you through the set up process. If you are new to WordPress and need help getting started you can check out WordPress Video Tutorials here: You will get the best results with the Genius Store Builder Theme by building new sites from scratch, but you can install the theme on a blog with existing content. If you are using a blog with posts already there and they have featured images, it should look great. If your existing blog posts don t have featured images, you can add them into each post and that will make the theme look like it should.

2 I. Accessing and Downloading the Theme A. Upon purchase, you should receive an confirmation from Wildfire Concepts Cindy Donovan with access details to the Wildfire Concepts members area. You can login here and will be directed to your product access page. B. Click on the Access Your InstaGenius Plugin (& Pro) button and you will be directed to the product download page.

3 A. Scroll down to Download Your Bonuses. You will then find a link to Download The Genius Store Builder Theme. There is also a video tutorial on how to download and install the theme. Make sure the download is complete and you remember where the file is saved on your computer. B. II. Installing the Theme A. Login to your Wordpress Admin site. It is important to make sure that you have a self-hosted WP blog as this is required to install the theme. B. Once inside, go to the Appearance>Themes area and click on Add New. C. Locate where the Genius Store Builder zip file is in your computer and select it for upload to your WP site. D. Once the theme has been uploaded, click on Activate and it should now appear in the menu list on the right side of your WP admin site. III. Activating and Setting Up the Genius Theme A. Activating the Theme You will need to activate the theme to be able to configure and use it. To activate the theme, go to IG Store Builder>Step 1. Activation. Your activation key is the same as your JVZoo Transaction ID (the one that begins with an AP-XXXXXX). Copy and paste it into the corresponding field and click on Save Options.

4 Once the theme is activated, you will then be able to proceed with configuring the Genius theme. B. Configure some Settings in WordPress General Settings First thing you should do is go to your General Settings and update your blog s title and tagline. Note that if you don t plan on using a graphical logo in your header, the title and tagline you enter here will be used, so they needs to be short enough to fit. (If you will be using a logo the title can be as long as you want.) Here s an example of a short title and a descriptive tag line for our site: You d might want a longer title than that for SEO. Reading Next you want to click on Settings => Reading. There is only one setting we are interested in here and that is number of post to show on the front page. Since the theme displays your posts in 3 columns, you want to select a number that is a multiple of 3 (i.e. 3, 6, 9, 12 etc.)

5 Permalinks It s a good idea to change your permalinks as it will help your SEO efforts. Go to Settings and then Permalinks to do so. We recommend setting it to /%category%/%postname% like on the picture below. Next step is to configure your Genius Store Builder theme. C. Setting Up The Genius Store Theme 1. Product Settings Configuring this part of the theme will allow you to add products to your site. Go to IG Store Builder>Step 2. Product Settings where you need to set up your affiliate ID for at least one of the networks.

6 At the top you re seeing our recommended settings for Tags and Comments. Below that you ll need to set up your Amazon affiliate details (as well as Commission Junction & ebay details if desired). There are links for each module that will provide you with more information on how to acquire your access keys. You need to set up at least one affiliate network first. But you can set up all of them from this page. Don t forget to click on Save Options when you have entered all the information. 2. Design This is where you control most of the huge array of customization features that come with the Genius Theme. Color Schemes: You will see a few preset color templates. If you press one of

7 these it will automatically change the entire look of your site (remember to save your changes). You can also customize the template further after you have selected it, Home Page: Here you can customize the look of your home page and more specifically how your posts will look on your blog's home page. Hide Price: You can set the visibility of the price. Featured Post Rotator: Here you can control whether you want to use the featured rotator and where you want to display it. You can also select how many products to feature and in what. Posts: Set the appearance of your posts on the home page. Here you can change settings to suit your preference. You can configure the following: edit the background color or select a background image for the page and post, choose whether or not to show post title, set the post title color, and if you would want the color to change when the cursor hovers over it, manage the appearance of the posts show or hide the post description or show a post excerpt and set the number of words to show on the excerpt. show or hide the price set the post description text color, price text color and price background color set what word to set for the post excerpt More text and More Info button text set the More Info button text and background colors set an image border around the shirts When you are done with selecting the settings for this step, remember to click on the Save Options button before you proceed to the next step.

8 Category Page: Before you start adding content/products to your new Genius Themes site, you need to set up some categories. Locate Posts on your dashboard sidebar menu and click on the sub--- menu Categories. Simply type in the name of the category you want to create and click the Add New Category button. The slug, parent and description fields are all optional. However the description field is used at the top of your category pages, so it s a very good idea to write a nice description for each category. You don t have to create all your categories at once (you can always add more

9 later), but you need to set up at least one before you start posting. The Category Page will allow you to configure the following: Sidebar Widget: Select whether to show the sidebar on your category pages. You can select to show it on the left, right or not at all. Hide Price: Check this box to hide the price on the category page listings. Hide Description: Check this box to hide the product description on the category page listings. Show at most: Here you can select the maximum number of post you want to display on your category pages. Single Post and Pages: You can configure the following for your Single Posts: Hide Featured Posts Thumbnails: Check this box to hide the featured post images at the top of single posts. Featured Posts Thumbnails Show at most: If featured post thumbs are turned on, select how many to show (max). Sidebar Widget: Select whether to show the sidebar on your single posts. You can select to show it on the left, right or not at all. Product Button Text: Here you can edit the text on your single post product buttons. Hide Title: Check this box to hide the post titles on single posts Hide Entry Details: Check this box to hide the time stamp on single posts Hide Price: Check this box to hide the price on your single posts. Hide Social Sharing Buttons: Check this box to hide social sharing buttons on single posts (not recommended)

10 Social Sharing Buttons: Select which social sharing buttons to use on single posts. Comments Type: Select what type of comments you would like to have on single posts. Your options are... WordPress Comments: this is the standard WordPress comments option. Facebook Comments: this allows your users to comment via Facebook. If you have selected to use Facebook comments you will get the option to enter a Facebook app id here. This is needed if you want to have moderating rights over Facebook comments. WordPress & Facebook Comments: this will show Facebook comments first and WordPress comments below that (this is our recommended setting). None: this will disable comments on your posts (not recommended) Single Page: Sidebar Widget: Select whether to show the sidebar on your pages. You can select to show it on the left, right or not at all. Hide Title: Check this box to hide the title on your pages Hide Comments: Check this box to hide the comments on your pages. Footer: Hide Footer: Check this box to hide the footer on your site. Footer Area Background Color: Select the background color of your footer by either entering the hex code or by using the color selector. Footer Area Text Color: Select the font color for text in your footer by either entering the hex code or by using the color selector. Footer Area Text Link Color: Select the font color for links in your footer by either entering the hex code or by using the color selector. Sidebar & Widgets Options: The sidebar is a feature of certain themes and is a vertical column where you can display different kinds of content. Sidebars can appear on both the front page and single post pages depending on your preference. In the Genius Store Builder Theme, you can configure the following: Sidebar Background and Text Color Widget Title Background Color Widget Title Text Color

11 Menus: Here you can create custom menus just like in other WordPress themes. However in the Genius Store Builder theme, custom menus can only be used as widgets in your sidebars and footer. 3. Theme Ads

12 The Genius Theme also allows you to display ads in between the products on your store home page. These settings allow you to setup ads that are shown on the home page interspersed between your posts. You specify how many ads to configure and how they are shown. Ads can be up to 300 x 440 in size. a. Select how many ads you want to create b. Select how many ads you want to show per page c. Select an interval of products you want to display before the first ad is shown d. Select if you want your ads displayed in order (1 to 5) or have them displayed randomly. 4. Social Here you can enter your Facebook, Twitter and Google+, Pinterest and Reddit usernames. When you, do a little icon for the corresponding social media site will appear in your header, and when people click it you can gain followers on that site. Favicon: The theme comes with a standard favicon image. But if you wish to use a custom one you can add it here - either by uploading an image or linking to one hosted elsewhere (note that the favicon image must be 16x16

13 pixels). Default Open Graph Image: This is the the default image to use if no image is found when people share your pages on for example Facebook. This would most likely be your site's logo. Either upload an image or link to one hosted elsewhere. Custom Default Post Image: Here you can add a default image that will be used if a post/product does not have any images associated with it. Either upload an image or link to one hosted elsewhere (note that the default image must be 300x250 pixels). Social Buttons: These social sharing buttons will show up below the sidebar in the top right hand corner of your store. Hide: Check this box if you want to hide all the social sharing buttons. Twitter Username: Enter your Twitter username if you want to link your Genius Store Builder site to your Twitter account. If you leave this blank the "Twitter button" will not appear in the header. Facebook Username: Enter your Facebook username if you want to link your Genius Store Builder site to your Facebook account/page. If you leave this blank the "Facebook button" will not appear in the header Google+ Number: Enter your Google+ Number if you want to link your Genius Store Builder site to your Google+ account. If you leave this blank the "Google+ button" will not appear in the header Pinterest Username: Enter your Pinterest username if you want to link your Genius Store Builder site to your Pinterest account. If you leave this blank the "Pinterest button" will not appear in the header Reddit Username: Enter your Reddit username if you want to link your Genius Store Builder site to your Reddit account. If you leave this blank the "Reddit button" will not appear in the header RSS Feed URL: Enter your RSS Feed URL (the theme should automatically do this for you). If you leave this blank the "RSS Feed button" will not appear in the header 5. Membership Options This is what makes Genius Theme unique and extremely powerful.

14 Your visitors can sign up for a free account so they can add products to their wish list and share it with their friends And you even can export a list of your members or add them directly to your auto responder so you can mail them with updates and new products to buy. The first few items under Member Options are cosmetic, such as the text on your wish list links. If you need to see what they do, check the Help file listed at the top of the page. But these are a few settings that make a big difference to how your Genius Theme site works Wish List Wish List default text: The text for the top right hand corner link to the wish list (if logged in). You can change this to anything you want. Wish List action text: Here you can change the text on your wish list links to anything you want. Adding: the text shown if the product is not on your wish list yet. On List: the text shown if the product is already on your wish list. Wish List Sidebar Widget: Select to show the side bar on the wish list pages - you can show it on the left, right or not at all. Social Sharing Buttons: Select which social sharing buttons to show on the wish list page. Social Sharing text: Here you can edit the default social sharing text used when when your members share their wish list page. New Member When new members register send to Admin: Select if you want to receive an when a new member joins your site. This will be sent to the address associated with the admin account. When new members register send them welcome Select if you want to send a welcome to new members. New user welcome Here you can edit the welcome sent to new members. You can use the 4 tags to customize the message. When new members register add them to autoresponder List: Select which autoresponder service you want to add your memebers to (or select none if you don't want to use any). We highly recommend using either GetResponse or Aweber as they have full API integration with Genius Store Builder. Add captcha to registration form to prevent bot signups: You can enable this to prevent bot sign ups to your site. 6. Integration The Genius Store Theme will integrate with your auto responder of choice. After you have set it up, anyone who joins your store as a member will automatically be subscribed to your list. We highly recommend using either GetResponse or Aweber as they have full API integration with the Genius Theme. GetResponse: Aweber:

15 icontact: MailChimp: To integrate with other auto responders, select Other and simply generate your webform from your auto responder and paste it into the boxes as instructed. Adding Aweber Details Aweber authorization code: Click the link to request your Aweber authorization code (login using the Aweber login for the account you want to connect to your Genius Store Builder site). Then grab the code they give you, paste it into the box and click on "Save Options" at the bottom of the theme options page. Aweber list to subscribe to: Use the drop down list to select which Aweber list you want your members to be subscribed to, then click on "Save Options" again. Adding GetResponse Details GetResponse API Key Use the link given to locate your GetReponse API key. Note that you have to be logged in at GetResponse and that free trial accounts do not have an API key. Enter the key in the field and click on "Save Options". GetResponse Campaign to subscribe to Use the drop down list to select which GetResponse campaign you want your members to be subscribed to, then click on "Save Options" again. Adding icontact Details HTML Sign-up form Simply generate an HTML form for your list inside icontact and then paste it into the box -, then click on "Save Options". Adding MailChimp Details HTML/Subscribe Form URL Paste in the form URL here and then click on "Save Options". OR HTML Sign-up form Generate an HTML form for your list inside MailChimp and then paste it into the box -, then click on "Save Options". Adding Other Autoresponders First you need to generate a form code inside your autoresponder Enter input field name for the input In the form, locate the field name value for , and paste it into this box Enter input field name for the name input Then locate the field name for the subscriber's name, and paste it into this box. HTML Sign-up form Finally paste the entire form code into this box. NB: Genius Store Builder will work with most autoresponders, but we can not guarantee that it will work with all. We highly recommend using either GetResponseor Aweber. IV. Search For Products

16 Once you have configured the theme and added your affiliate network IDs, the next step is to go to Search For Products (also found under the Genius Theme products menu). Start by entering your keyword, how many results you want to get and select what affiliate network to search (if you have configured multiple networks you can search more than one at a time). After you click the search button, the Genius Theme will display the results for you like this: You can either continue the search if you don t find any products you d like to add to your store. If you find some products you want to add you simply check the box next to them. The select which category to put them in and press one of the two buttons to either import the products as draft posts or to immediately add them to your store. Conclusion
