3 1 What retailers are participating (so I know where my snaps count more)? Please see this link for the complete list: What is a qualified snap? 2 What is a qualified snap? You are the one who made the purchase. You cannot snap for someone else s receipts (even a spouse). It came from a retail store. The receipt shows basic information like store name, address, and phone number. The receipt shows the total spent, payment method, and the date of transaction. The receipt is clear and readable (this is the top reason snaps are rejected). The receipt is snapped within two weeks of the actual purchase and after you registered. The receipt isn t for a Gift Card, to fill a Debit Card, or Prepay Fuel sale/reload. 1
4 3 Will you tell me if my snap isn t readable? We can t. Currently, our system doesn t allow us to get back to you and tell you the snap you sent is fuzzy or doesn t have the correct information. We really rely on you to send a clear picture of your receipt. 4 What information do you take from receipts? ü Retailer name ü Retailer address ü Retailer phone # ü Total spent ü Method of payment ü Date on receipt At this time, we do not capture any of the specific items you purchase anywhere. However, if there is a particular item you don t want us to know that you purchased, you can black it out. (If you are getting double chicken at Chipotle, we won t judge.) 2
5 5 When I send my snaps, I get an error message. What should I do? SOLUTION #1 Always include the word snap to your text before sending the picture to (The word 'snap' can go before or after the picture.) Without the word, the image goes to a black hole. Also try put 'snap' in all lower case letters. Putting it in all big caps like 'SNAP', will sometimes cause an error. SOLUTION #2 We have no issues with any of the major carriers. What sometimes happens is that the user needs to ask the carrier to enable sending multi-media messages (MMS) to a short code. It is likely that the mobile carrier prevents sending a picture (or any MMS message) to a short-code (ours is ). Not sure why they do it because your phone can likely send a picture to a long code (another regular phone number). Call and work with your mobile carrier support team and ask them to unlock that feature for you. 6 6 What receipts are never accepted? DOES NOT COME FROM A RETAIL STORE HOSPITAL OR CLINIC FEES AND SERVICES DOCTOR/PHYSICIANS, DENTIST SERVICES/FEES, ETC. DOES NOT HAVE COMPLETE BASIC INFORMATION ON RECEIPT (SEE QUESTION #2) GIFT CARD PURCHASE/RELOAD, LOTTO RECEIPTS, CARD ACTIVATION, FSA RX CARD PURCHASE OR RELOAD PARKING RECEIPTS EXPIRED RECEIPTS (RECEIPTS MUST BE SNAPPED WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF ACTUAL PURCHASE) REFUND/RETURN RECEIPTS WITH $0.00 OR NEGATIVE TOTAL OR BALANCE MULTIPLE RECEIPTS SENT IN ONE SNAP RECEIPTS FROM RETAILERS OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT RECEIPTS, LIBRARIES, U.S. POST OFFICES DUPLICATE RECEIPTS COLLECTED RECEIPTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE (I.E. SPOUSES, NEIGHBORS, ETC.) A RECEIPT THAT IS ENTERED BY TWO (OR MORE) DIFFERENT NUMBERS. THE RECEIPT IS NULLIFIED AND NO CREDIT IS GIVEN TO EITHER PARTY. 4
7 7 Some of my receipts are long! How do I make my picture fit? With a longer receipt, it can be tough to snap the photo. But, all you have to do is make sure that you have a clear image of everything you need. - CRITICAL INFORMATION NEEDED FROM - TOP OF RECEIPT ü Retailer name ü Retailer address ü Retailer phone number BOTTOM OF RECEIPT ü Date of purchase ü Total spent ü Payment information HOW TO SNAP A LONG RECEIPT (MAKE SURE ALL CRITICAL INFORMATION IS VISIBLE!) S T E P 1 S T E P 2 S T E P 3 STEP 1: FOLD THE BOTTON OF THE RECEIPT UP STEP 2: FLIP THE TOP OF THE RECEIPT UP STEP 3: SNAP YOUR RECEIPT! 5
8 8 My privacy is important to me. What do you do with my information? We send participating retailers a report that shows a SNAPPER ID number (a multi-digit code our system assigns to you) and a link to every receipt image that you snapped in their location. This is our proof of your purchase. Any other identifying feature about you is carefully protected and kept private. 9 My privacy is important to me. What do you do with my information? - IT S EASY! - 1. Go to snapbooster.com/start. 2. Register with the new team. That s it! Be sure to use the program code of the new group! 6
9 10 Between groups/seasons? Don t want to lose the earning power of your snaps? If you are between teams or groups or seasons, and you want to continue to snap so that your earnings can be applied to a future group, here s what you do: GO TO SNAPBOOSTER. COM/START RE-REGISTER YOUR MOBILE NUMBER AND USE THE PROGRAM CODE HOLDING SNAP AWAY AND START EARNING FOR YOUR NEXT TEAM! You will have up to a year to join a new group. snaps will be credited to your new group or team! Once you do, your 11 How can I know how I am doing? At the end of each month, a report is sent to your program director. They will often send you a note of how your snaps have contributed to the group totals. If you would like to know your personal snapping statistics during the month, send an with your name and mobile number to snapinfo@snapbooster.com! 7
10 12 My friend is collecting receipts so I can snap them. Is that okay? Sorry, that isn t allowed. It is against the rules of a qualified receipt. BUT WHY NOT? As we seek to attract and retain retailers, they are demanding accountability that we provide a program that represents a real ROI on their investment. This includes that snappers submit their own purchases. Why? Many receipts have identifiers on them that indicate a person has made the purchase. A business gets suspicious and cranky when a snapper has 8 snaps but they ve used 4 credit cards (we look at the last four digits), or there are 5 names on the receipt. A retailer wants the assurance that they are paying for unique business, not someone who is good at collecting other people s receipts. 8
11 13 What can I expect to earn? Most people seem to snap between 5-25 receipts a week. Depending on the retailers they shop, that can add up! We see most active snappers earning between $7-12 a month. As our retailer network grows, so will the earnings. 14 How can I get others involved to snap for my group? If you have friends, neighbors or families members who live nearby, send them to snapbooster.com to register. Give them your group s program code and have them sign up! (This code is usually a few letters and numbers that corresponds to your group. When you register, this code helps tie your name, and mobile number to the correct group. You can get that code from your program s coordinator.) 9
