Download & Installation TradeManager is a free instant messenger for Alibaba.com Members. You can get the latest version from: Minimum system requirements for TradeManager Pentium II 300 MHz or higher Minimum 64 MB RAM 1

2 Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME or Windows XP operating systems Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later You can download it to your computer and then install it offline or directly install it online. Install Online Click Install online and Accept and setup. Then follow the instructions on the next page. Download I.Click Download button. II. Select Run to begin the installation process, or save the file to your computer if you would like to install TradeManager later. III. Click I Agree only after you read and agree to the terms. IV. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. 2. Sign In TradeManager I. Select Website of Alibaba.com. 2

4 II. Enter your Member ID/ address and password. III. Choose your online status and click Sign In. Note: a. Your online status will be after your user name. The default status is Online. b. If you do not want to enter password every time, please choose Save My Password and tick before Auto Sign in so that the TradeManager will be automatically started when your computer comes online. 4

5 3. Add Contacts Contacts are people who you have added to your Contact List. Here are two ways to add Contacts. Choice 1: While you are chatting with a new contact in Instant Message Window, click the Add button or the Add this user now link. Choice 2: If you already know the Member ID or some keyword of the person, go to Add at the bottom of TradeManager. For details, please go to: 5

6 4. Chat Online Chatting with your potential buyers by the following two ways: Choice 1: 6

7 Sending a message to someone in the search result list, click. Choice 2: Go to Messages and Contacts in My Alibaba, the will be shown on Message detail page, click. 7

8 5. View Message History View Recent Message History Open an Instant Message Window with a contact, and click History. Your recent message history will be shown next to your conversation window. View Local Message History Choose a method from the following 3 Choices. Then the Message Manager will pop up. To view message history with a certain contact or community, please click the contact/community at the left column. Choice 1: Click History at the bottom of TradeManager. 8

9 Choice 2: Click the small arrow in the chat window and choose On My Computer. 9

10 Choice 3: Right click the contact in your contacts list and select History > On My Computer 10

11 View Online Message History You can view all the message records saved in the TradeManager server. Open a conversation window with a certain contact and then click the small arrow below: 11. Please click Web history as shown

12 Note: 1. You must activate the function of Save Recent Messages to TradeManger so as to view online message History. 2. For security reasons, please set a password for accessing message history on the TradeManager. Click Set Password to enter your password, security question and answer, address for retrieving password and click OK when you finish. 6. Transfer Files Send product photos or files of any size in an instant to your trade partners. Below is a way of transferring files. If you want to know more methods, go to: I. 13 II. Select the file to be sent and click "Open". You will see "Waiting for xxx to accept": 7. How to use Audio/Video Call function If you want to use Audio or Video Call function, just click Audio or Video on the menu of the dialogue box. You and your partner can talk online if they accept your request. If you want to cancel the call, click "Close" tab on the upper right corner of the call window.
