1 How to Create and Use a Skype Account Step 1: Go to You will need an address to create your Skype account Step 2: At the top, right corner, there will be a place to click Get Skype It will look like this Step 3: You will be able to use the same account on all your devices. However, to register, you will need to pick the device you are registering on. For instance, if you are using a desktop computer, choose that option You will then be able to choose Get Skype for Windows desktop or choose another version (i.e. MAC) Step 4: Click Get Skype for Windows desktop or whichever system you are installing Skype on and you will be prompted to complete a series of installation steps

2 Step 5: Follow the three steps you see above -Step 2 mentions finding and double clicking the Skype Setup file -It will look like the picture below Step 6: Once the download has completed, you will be prompted to complete various steps through Skype -You will need to complete your Skype setup

3 Step 7: Once you have completed the setup, you must click the Join Us tab Step 8: You will then fill in the blanks to create your account Step 9: When you are finished filling them in, click the I agree button to create your account Step 10: Now, return to your desktop -The Skype icon should now appear on your desktop, click it Step 11: Sign in using the Skype username and password you created while you were creating your account

4 How-to install Skype on an Iphone or Ipad: Step 1: Open the App Store -The icon for the App Store will look like the picture below Step 2: Search for the Skype app Step 3: Tap the Skype icon to stark downloading Skype -Depending on your phone or Ipad s privacy settings, you may be your apple ID prompted to enter Step 4: Once you have installed the Skype app onto your device, the icon will appear on your home page. -Tap the icon to open the app and you will be prompted through the set-up, you can then follow the steps above for using Skype.

5 *Note: In order to use the video chat feature on a computer, you need to be sure that the computer has a camera. While most computers (desktops and laptops) do come with cameras built in, some do not. It is helpful to check prior to installing or attempting to use Skype. Part II: Using Skype Step 1: Finding Friends -To find friends you need to be signed in to your Skype account Step 2: A screen will come up on your home page the first time you log in to your Skype account that says Find Friends and Say Hello Step 3: Although it will say search address book that is not an option at first, because you will not have anyone in your address book -To begin adding people, go to the search bar in the top right corner and type a person s name Step 4: There will likely be a number of screen names that show up in reference to that person s name. It is imperative that you know the person s location. That makes it easier to know that you have found the correct person -When you locate the correct person, click the green button to the right with the plus sign to request the person -They will be added to your address book

6 Step 5: Once the person accepts your request, a green check mark will appear when that person is online and available to chat or video chat -With Skype you can audio call, instant message and video chat Step 6: When you want to video call with someone, click the green video chat button and the line will start to ring until the person picks up or the calls fails For more information, view this informational video on Skype!
