4 1. Introduction Domains can be registered in all shapes and sizes, but we have two categories where we can divide TLD s in. These are the Generic Top Level Domains (gtld s) and the Country Code Top Level Domains (cctld s). This guide shows you how to manage your domains in our platform. 4
5 2. View purchase prices To view your purchase prices, you can follow these steps: 2. Go to Products Domains Purchase prices to see an overview of your prices 5
6 3. Set reseller prices If you have sub resellers and you want them to be able to sell domains, you will have to set reseller prices for them. 2. Go to Products Domains Reseller prices 3. Click on Actions Create selling price list 6
7 4. Give the price list a name and set up all your TLD s with their prices 5. Click Save when you are done and your price list is ready 7
8 4. Set customer prices Selling domains to your customers is easy, but you want to be able to set your own prices for the TLD s as well. Please do so with these steps: 2. Go to Products Domains Customer prices 3. You will see the overview of all the TLD s that you are able to sell, but they are mostly red. This means that a price isn t set yet. Click on Create at the TLD that you want to sell 8
9 4. Set your sale price, Interval and if it should be selectable in your Storefront 5. When you are done, click Save 9
10 5. Register a domain All prices have now been set up, you will be able to register domains. How you do this? Follow these steps: 2. Go to Customers, we will need a customer to register the domain for 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Click on Customer actions 5. Click on Register domain 10
11 6. Fill in the domain you want to register and click Show quote to check if the domain is available and to see what the price is 7. If you agree with the price, click Confirm 8. Your domain will now be registered, the time it takes can depend on the TLD 11
12 6. Transfer a domain A domain can be transferred in a couple of ways, but in this case, we assume you want to transfer it to us. You can do so with these steps: 2. Go to Customers, we will need a customer to register the domain for 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Click on Customer actions 5. Click on Transfer domain 12
13 6. You will be asked for the domain and it s authorization code. The authorization code only needs to be filled in, if this applies 7. Last option, is a checkbox to act as a designated agent. If this is checked, only the new registrant has to approve the contact details provided 8. Click on Start transfer to initiate the transfer. Depending on the TLD an actions needed, it can take 10 days to be completed 13
14 7. Renew a domain When you do not want your domain to expire and perhaps, you did not set it to automatic renewal, you can manually renew a domain by doing the following: 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Products tab and click on Domains 14
15 5. Click on the domain you wish to renew 6. Now, click on Actions and click on Manually renew 7. The price and period will be shown. If it is correct, click Renew to continue 8. You have now started the renewal of your domain. It depends on the TLD when this is completed, but most of the time, it is instant 15
16 8. Delete a domain Sometimes, a domain isn t needed anymore and you will need to be able to delete it. You can do so, by following these steps: 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Products tab and click on Domains 5. Click on the domain you wish to delete 6. Now, click on Actions and click on Delete 7. You will be asked for a confirmation, as the domain will be deleted immediately. If your customer deletes it from the customer area, it will be deleted at the expiration date of the domain. Click Confirm to continue and delete the domain 16
17 9. Park a domain There are times that you want to have a domain registered, but not want it linked to a website or a redirect. You can do this, by parking the domain. (For screenshots of step 1-4, please look at the previous chapter.) 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Products tab 5. Click on the domain you wish to park 6. Now, click on Actions and click on Park domain 7. A notice will be given and you can click on Park to continue 8. The domain is now parked and the domain will be redirected to our standard landing page 17
18 10. Link a domain to hosting or plan To start building a website or setting up addresses, you will need to link a domain to a hosting or plan. You can do by doing: (For screenshots of step 1-4, please look at the previous chapter.) 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Products tab and click on Domains 5. Click on the domain you wish to link to a plan 6. Now, click on Actions and click on Link to hosting 7. Select the plan you wish to link it to and click on Link 8. All set! 18
19 11. Move domain It is possible to move a domain from one customer to another, when the customers are at the same reseller. To do this with these steps: 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. Click on Customer actions Move products 5. Fill in the customer you wish to move the products to and click Next 19
20 6. Select the products you wish to move and click Next 7. If any, you will als be asked if a hosting plan and/or a mailbox needs to be moved as well. If so, select it and click Next. If not, just click Next 8. A final notice is given and if you agree, click on Move to move the products 20
21 12. Change DNS DNS records can direct certain traffic to separate destinations. To set/change these records, you can do the following: 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Products tab and click on Domains 5. Click on the domain you wish set/change the DNS for 21
22 6. Now, click on Actions and click on DNS records 7. Make the changes and click on Save. The changes are made, but it can take up to 24 hours before they are in effect 22
23 13. Change name servers If you want the DNS to be managed externally, you can set name servers to direct all traffic to another server. These steps need to be followed to do so: 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Products tab and click on Domains 5. Click on the domain you wish set/change the name servers for 23
24 6. Now, click on Actions and click on Name servers 7. Fill in the name servers you want to use and click on Save. Name servers may take up to 48 hours to be in effect 24
25 14. Create child host You can create your own name servers with your own domain. For this to work, you will need to create child hosts. You can do this, by taking these steps: 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Products tab and click on Domains 5. Click on the domain you wish set/change the child hosts for 25
26 6. Now, click on Actions and click on Child hosts 7. You will see an overview. To add a child host, click on Create 8. Fill in the hostname and the IP-address. When done, click Save 26
27 15. Modify domain settings There are several domain settings that can be changed, these include: Privacy protect, transfer lock, admin/tech/billing contact and auto renewal. To change these, you can do the following: 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Products tab 5. Click on the domain you wish to modify 6. Now, click on Actions and click on Modify 7. Change the settings you want and click on Save to apply them 27
28 16. View domain details You already seen this option past with other actions that can be taken, but it is good to know which details can be viewed. 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Products tab 5. Click on the domain you wish to view the details for 6. You will now see the overview with the contacts attached to the domain, the expiration date, if certain properties are set and the authorization code (if applicable) 28
29 17. Additional properties Certain TLD s need additional properties attached to the contact details to be able to register the domains. These properties can be all kind of information, but mostly is a registration number and/ or company type. To add these properties, do the following: 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Contacts tab 5. Click on details for the contact that you are using for the registration of the domain 6. Click on Actions and select a TLD/registry you wish to add the properties for 7. Fill in all the details and click Save. The properties will be added and you can register the specific domain 29
30 18. IRTP-C The Inter Registrar Transfer Policy is an ICANN policy, going into effect on the 1st of December, Goal of the policy is to prevent domain theft. This is achieved by asking both the old and new registrant for confirmation when the information in the registrant handle is changed. When the old registrant is not able to read/approve the , you can make the new registrant a designated agent. This means that he takes the responsibility of the data being correct. This registrant is the only one to receive the . To set the registrant as designated agent, the box needs to be checked in the contact details. You can do this as follows: 2. Go to Customers 3. Click on details at the right side of the customer 4. You will be guided to the customer overview. Go to the Contacts tab 5. Click on details for the contact that you are using for the registration of the domain 6. Click on Actions Modify 7. Check the designated agent box and make your changes 8. Click Save when you are done 30
