1 Volunteer Registration Instructions Follow these steps to register as a volunteer: a) Go to the official WYD web page: b) Click on the menu, then on Registration, then on Volunteers. c) Go to the Volunteers section (Image #1), then click Send in your application d) Read the instructions that are on page 1 of 4. e) Enter the information listed below (* means that that field is required). i) Title: Click to show options. It can be left blank. ii) Name*: Must match what is shown on your identification. iii) Surname*: Must match what is shown on your identification. iv) Sex v) vi) vii) viii) Date of birth*: Click on and select your date of birth from the calendar (see image #2). Mailing address*: house number, street, district. City* Country*: Click on the arrow and type the first few letters of your country in the box, then select your country when it appears.

2 ix) Work phone number (with country code): Pick your country code from the list, then type your work phone. x) Home phone number (with country code): Pick your country code from the list, then type your home phone. xi) Cell phone (with country code)*: Pick your country code from the list, then type your cell phone. xii) Fax: Pick your country code from the list, then type your fax number. xiii) * xiv) confirmation* xv) Are you Catholic?*: Pick Yes or No. 1) If you pick Yes and belong to an Eastern Catholic Rite, indicate which one by clicking on the arrow of the box on the right side and selecting the corresponding option. 2) If you select No, please enter your religion in the box on the right. xvi) Nationality*: Click on the arrow of the box on the right and select the corresponding country. xvii) Select one of the following options to show data fields corresponding to your identification document: 1) Citizens that do not need a visa 2) Citizens that need a stamped visa 3) Citizens that needs an authorized visa xviii) Document type*: Select Identification card or passport. xix) Document number*: Enter the number of the identity document. xx) Passport number*: Enter your passport number. xxi) Expiration date*: Click the button and select the date of your document s expiration. xxii) Issuing country*: click on the arrow of the box on the right and select the country that issued your identity document. xxiii) Scan of document: Go to your Personal Area and upload a scan of your identity document (maximum size 2 MB). xxiv) Photo: In your Personal Area, upload a passport-size color picture of yourself. The photo must be taken recently and from the front, and your face must be clearly visible (maximum size 2 MB). xxv) Recommended by: 1) Episcopal/Bishops Conference: Write the name of the episcopal conference with which you are affiliated. 2) Diocese: Write the name of the diocese with which you are affiliated. 3) Parish: In the first field, write the name of the parish which you are representing. In the second field, write the name of the diocese to which you belong. 4) Movement / community / other entity: Write the name of the movement, association, community, etc. that is recommending you. 5) Self-candidacy: Write the name and position of who is recommending you (e.g. Dom José Sánchez, bishop of )

3 xxvi) Recommendation letter template in PDF: Click on Recommendation letter template in PDF (see image #4) to download the recommendation letter. You must print the letter and take it to your parish or organization to have it signed by the priest or by the person responsible for the volunteers of the organization to which you belong. xxvii) xxviii) xxix) Go to your Personal Area. Upload a scan of your signed recommendation letter (maximum size 2 MB). Save draft: To save the data entered so far, click on "save draft". You must enter at least your name, surname and before you can do this. You will receive an that will give you access to your personal account. This will enable you to continue entering and modifying your data. If you do not receive an , please check your spam folder. Continue: Once you have entered all information, click Continue to go to the next page where you can continue completing the form. xxx) xxxi) First language: Select your language (see image #6). If your first language is not listed, enter it in the space provided. Foreign languages: click Add to include other languages. The fields Language and Level will appear. If you want to add another language, click add (see image number #7).

Preferred language of communication: select the language from the list. All communication and information about WYD 2019 will be provided in the language you select. Education level: On the list, select the highest level of education that you have completed. Specialization/experience: If you have any specialization or professional experience you wish to list, write it here. Current job: write your current occupation here. Are you currently doing any volunteer work? Select Yes or No. Do you participate in any association, movement, or ecclesial community? Select Yes or No. Other kinds of Church experience: write if you have had any other activity or experience within the Church. Emergency contact person: 1) Name* 2) Surame* 3) * 4) Relation*: Specify father, mother, sibling, friend, etc. 5) Country* 6) Phone number (with country code) 7) Cell phone (with country code)* Any special requirements. Do you have any health deficiencies or limitations? If you do, indicate your specific needs: Write in the space below the question. Indicate if you have already participated in other editions of World Youth Day and how you participated - click on the corresponding option: 1) Never attended 2) I attended as a pilgrim 3) I attended as a volunteer Save draft: To save the data entered so far, click on "save draft". 5 xliv) Continue: Once you have entered all information, click Continue to go to the next page where you can continue completing the form (see image #8). xlv) Driving licence. If you have a valid European driving license, indicate its category: Click Add and select the category from the list (see image #9). xlvi) xlvii) xlviii) Skills and/or experience: select by clicking on the areas of competency or experience that you possess. Other skills: If you have other skills that aren t listed, write them in the box. Save draft: To save the data entered so far, click on "save draft". 6 xlix) Continue: Once you have entered all information, click Continue to go to the next page where you can continue completing the form (see image #10). l) In which sector would you like to volunteer? Note: a placement in your preferred sector cannot be guaranteed. Select one or more by clicking. li) Would you like to apply to be a team leader? Select Yes or No. You can apply to be a team leader if you have had significant experience of volunteering at practical or organisational levels. lii) Your availability: The WYD international voluntary service lasts from Monday 14 January until Monday 28 January Local voluntary service lasts from 21 to 28 January The Organising Committee will give precedence to candidates who express their availability for all of the corresponding period. Select the option that corresponds to your availability: 1) For the entire period (International and diocesan volunteers: Mon 14 January to Mon 28 January 2019; - Local volunteers: Mon 21 January to Mon 28 January 2019.) liii) liv) 2) Only for the following period: (a) From (b) Until Do you require accommodation during your time of voluntary service? Volunteers will be accommodated in simple lodgings (e.g. schools, halls, catechesis venues, etc).
