Questions about the customer portal for balance groups 12 Important information about the transition phase between the 3 BG model and the 1 BG model and use of the customer portal for balance groups: All active balance groups were informed by mid-july 2016 about the process relating to the entry into force of the new balance group contract on 1 November For balance groups that are already active, a new data record has been created for the 1 BG model:» This data record includes all available information from the previous contract» Please check and complete the information during the registration process» Alternatively, you can create a blank data record for registration (see also Section 3: Registering a balance group for the 1 BG model)» The information in the data record for the 1 BG model is not valid before activation» If there is a need for change of existing information before November, please do so in the corresponding data record for the standard BG (see also Section 4)» Changes will not be automatically copied to the data record for the 1 BG model Please contact us if you have any questions about this transition phase.

2 Page 2 of Applying for access to the customer portal for balance groups For the registration of a balance group you require access to the balance group customer portal. Please register here. You will receive your user ID (G number) and PIN separately by post a few days later. 2. Logging in to the customer portal for balance groups You can access the customer portal with the following link:» Log in with your user ID (G number) and personal PIN code (select two-step login). Your user ID will have been dispatched by post. If you have forgotten or lost your PIN code, please contact us at info@swissgrid.ch.

3 Page 3 of 12 After logging in you will see the protected area of the customer portal for balance groups. To administer the balance group, click «Balance group». We must advise that only the balance group manager is authorised to make changes. After you click on «Balance group», the system displays an overview of all balance groups registered to your legal entity. You now have the option to apply for a new balance group or to modify existing balance groups. Go to «My settings» to set your preferred language. 3. Change requests for the 3 BG model (standard, control, CH-15) In the «Your active balance groups and registration» section, click the relevant data record to select the balance group that you want to change with record type «Standard BG», «Control BG», or «CH-15». As soon as you have made changes in the relevant fields and confirmed the change request by choosing «Next», Swissgrid receives notification of your request and starts the BG change review process. On the start page you will see a new balance group record for the balance group being modified, which contains the basic data for the active BG object, including the requested changes. The new object does not yet have a status. As soon as Swissgrid begins reviewing your request, the object is assigned the status «Modification in progress».

4 Page 4 of 12 Once the review of your request is finished successfully, the status for the new BG object changes to «Modification complete». This means that your new BG master data has been copied to your active balance group. Please note the following:» Swissgrid will make every attempt to use the preferred «Valid from» date as specified in your change request. Change requests with a lead time of less than 10 working days will be processed as quickly as possible. However, in these cases Swissgrid cannot guarantee to meet your chosen deadline. We would therefore ask that you notify us of changes to master data as early as possible.» Once modified, a data record cannot be changed again. If you would like to make further changes following a modification, please contact us directly. 4. Registering a balance group for the 1 BG model Click on «Registration form for balance groups» in the «Balance group registration» section The system creates a new data record with a unique BG ID and the status «Draft». Click «Edit» to enter information in the first section. For each entry, you can click (?) to view a help text that describes the information required.

5 Page 5 of 12 Please enter information in the following 5 sections: 1. General information about the company 2. Further information about the company 3. Contact offices of the balance group 4. Data transfer 5. Limits, plausibility values and collateral You have the option to save your data for each section and to continue with, and complete, the registration process at a later time. On the start page, click on the relevant BG ID to continue entering your data. Changes relating to registration details can be made at any time without a change request, as long as the registration has not yet been sent to Swissgrid («Draft» status).

6 Page 6 of 12 The system displays the status for each section (1-5). As soon as all of the sections are completed, you can submit the registration after specifying your planned activation date.

7 Page 7 of 12 Before submitting the registration, you can upload relevant documents for the registration using the «Document upload» function in section 7. You can only upload one document for each item. If you have multiple documents of one type, please merge these into a single file before uploading. After submitting the registration, the data record status changes to «Sent to Swissgrid». You will receive an with the registration form containing your information, as well as the balance group contract. You can track the status of your registration via the relevant data record (BG ID) on the start page.

Change requests for the 1 BG model Modifications to existing data records must be carried out as of status «Registration sent». Changes are stored in a separate data record called «Mutation», which allows them to be tracked. Fig.2: Flow chart for modifications

9 Page 9 of 12 To modify a data record, click the relevant record on the start page. Then click «Change existing data». This step is only possible after the registration has been submitted. Changes while in «Draft» status can be made without a change. A new data record with status «Draft» is created for the modification. You can now make changes. Changes to data are stored for each section. As soon as you have finished making changes, you can submit the modified record after specifying the valid-from date. The valid-from date defines the time as of which the modification should be operationally valid. Once the change has been submitted, it is no longer possible to subsequently edit a change. If further changes become necessary, please create a new change.

10 Page 10 of 12 The change is displayed on the start page, along with the corresponding status, in the «Your change requests» section.

11 Page 11 of 12 The fields that were changed are highlighted in the modified data record. Only fields that have been changed are highlighted. The original entries are not displayed. As soon as the change is made it appears in the «Executed and operationally valid changes» section. The changes have been copied to the original data record and are now visible there. Please note:» Modifications are not operationally valid until Swissgrid has approved and implemented the change» Modifications must be submitted to Swissgrid at least 10 days before the change comes into effect Status of the «Modification» data record Explanation Draft» The modification has been created by the balance group manager» The balance group manager can change all existing entries» The change has not yet been transmitted to Swissgrid Sent to Swissgrid» The balance group manager has submitted the change to Swissgrid» It is no longer possible to make subsequent changes to a modification Rejected» Swissgrid has rejected the change (e.g. because of inadmissible entries) In progress» The change is being processed by Swissgrid Completed» Swissgrid has approved the change» The valid-from date for the change is in the future Change complete» The change has been implemented» The modified data is visible in the 1 BG model data record and is operationally valid Fig.3: Status overview for data record type «Modification»
