3 The Prothonotary s Office receives about 20,000 filings per month. (31% are currently efiled) Currently, family law cases and election challenges cannot be e-filed. Efiling submissions are processed in house Turn-around time: no more than 2-3 business days Eflex to Courtview

4 Types of Accounts: Attorney Account, Financial Administrator Account, Attorney with Municipality Account and Pro Se Account Not a pay at the end type of efiling system Attorneys need to set up an Attorney Account and a Financial Administrator Account Filers cannot efile under their Financial Administrator Account Accounts are linked by Organization name Creation of Wallet

6 Two types of submissions: Initiating a Case (Ex: Complaint, Writ, Lien) Secondary Submissions: submitting filings to an already existing case (Ex: Answer, Petitions, Motions, Certificates of Service)

7 Although e-filing can be done at any time, your submission will only be processed during our normal business hours A document is time-stamped only when a filing is accepted by our office. If the filing is rejected, it will not be time-stamped until it is re-filed and accepted All documents, except Proposed Orders, must be submitted in PDF format Proposed Orders must be submitted in Word format Everything that you want to get a time-stamp must be added (loaded) to your submission separately The way our efiling system translates a submission into our Courtview system is by using codes so you must choose the correct code to have it be placed on the docket properly. (Example: if you are filing an Answer, choose Answer code, if you re filing a Proposed Order choose Order- Proposed code) Filing Fees get added to the submission separately There is an efiling fee of $20.00 for new cases and $5.00 for secondary filings that already have a fee attached

25 Clerk log in and reviews each document Things we look for: Signed document (by the attorney who is logged into eflex) The documents to be time-stamped are uploaded separately The filer chose the correct filing code (ex: filing Answer, choose Answer code, not Certificate of Service code)
