2 1 EP A1 2 Description [0001] The present invention relates to a masking tape, usable both for hobby activity and in professional painting work. [0002] There exist various models of masking tapes on the market, different in composition and in thickness. [0003] The tapes are usable in light or heavy building works or in vehicle repair. For example, the tapes are used for repairing edges, corners, skirtings, jambs or parts of bodywork from drips of paint. The tapes can therefore adhere to walls, glass, wood, metal, plastic, both for protective purposes and for the creation of decorative demarcation lines. [0004] All masking tapes have at least an adhesive surface layer, able to adhere to the surface to be protected, and a surface layer made of paper. [000] With reference to the packed tape, i.e. rolled, the adhesive surface layer is the internal layer, while the paper surface layer is the external one, adapted to be handled. [0006] To identify the tape some producers apply, on the external surface level, an adhesive label having an identification code of the product or the producer (for example bar codes, QR codes or logos). [0007] Other producers apply the label having the code on one of the circular bases of the roll. These labels therefore have a partly circular shape, for example a half-moon shape. This solution is illustrated in figure 1, wherein the number 1 identifies the masking tape and the number 7 the label having the code 6. [0008] Both the indicated solutions thus require the application of labels with a medium adhesive power, with consequent problems related to elimination of the glues used. [0009] Further, when the label is applied to one of the circular bases of the roll, removal thereof can leave residues which negatively affect the performance of the adhesive surface of the tape. [00] In this context, the technical task underpinning the present invention is to provide a masking tape that obviates the drawbacks of the prior art mentioned above. [0011] In particular, an aim of the present invention is to provide a masking tape having a lowered environmental impact with respect to the known solutions. [0012] The stated technical task and specified aims are substantially achieved by a masking tape, comprising: - a first adhesive surface layer; - a second surface layer made of paper; - an identification code of the product or the producer (for example a bar code, a QR code or a logo) which is printed on the second surface layer. [0013] The code is preferably printed by inkjet on the second surface layer. Alternatively, the code is printed by laser on the second surface layer [0014] Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the following indicative, and hence non-limiting, description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of a masking tape as illustrated in the appended drawings, in which: - figure 1 illustrates a masking tape, according to the prior art; - figures 2 and 3 illustrate a masking tape, according to the present invention, respectively in a rolled configuration and at the start of unrolling. [001] With reference to the figures, number 1 indicates a masking tape. [0016] The tape 1 comprises an adhesive first surface layer 2 and a second surface layer 3 made of paper. [0017] The tape 1 is rolled to form a reel 4 wound about a spool or a hollow cylinder, so that the first surface layer 2 stays internal and the second surface layer 3 is external and adapted to be handled during the use and unroling of the reel 4. [0018] An identification code 6 of the product or producer is applied to the second surface layer 3. For example, the code 6 is a bar code or a QR code or a logo formed by alphanumeric characters and/or patterns. [0019] The code 6 is advantageously printed on the second surface layer 3. The code 6 is preferably printed by inkjet. Alternatively, the code 6 is printed by laser on the second surface layer 3. [00] The adhesive first surface layer 2 preferably has an adhesive power that is sufficiently low so as to enable repositioning the tape 1 without damaging it. [0021] From the above description the characteristics of the masking tape according to the present invention clearly emerge, and the advantages thereof are also clear. [0022] In particular, due to the fact that the identification code of the product or the producer is printed on the external surface layer, any use of further glues of medium adhesive power is avoided. This enables producing a masking tape that is more environmentally friendly and less subject to degrading due to residues of glue from the labels applied thereto. Further, the disclosed solution avoids any need to eliminate labels glued to the tape. Claims 1. Masking tape (1) comprising: an adhesive first surface layer (2); a second surface layer (3) made of paper; an identification code (6) of the product or producer, said code (6) being applied on said second surface layer (3), characterised in that said code (6) is printed on the second surface layer (3). 2
