4 1. Safety Instructions / Warning - Read before start-up! The device may only be used for the intended purpose designed by for the manufacturer. The operation manual should be conveniently kept available at all times for each user. Unauthorized changes and the use of spare parts and additional devices which have not been sold or recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shocks or injuries. Introduction This description describes how to update the firmware of the TCP/IP controller on the ID ISC.MR200-E reader This Update is only necessary on reader with the hardware version FE 556/1, FE 556/2, FE 556/3. ID ISC.MR200-E 3. Install the tools Please unzip the file LAN_Update.zip and copy the content on the hard disc of your PC. Check the current version of the TCP/IP controller Before starting the update the current firmware version should be checked Please use the tool dgdiscvr.exe : IP-Address of the reader MAC-Address of the reader Firmware version of the TCP/IP controller Firmware Version Update necessary New Configuration Go to chapter _A / _B / _C / _D Yes Yes _E No Yes 5. 7 5. Perform the firmware update of the TCP/IP-Controller 5.1. Read the MAC Address Read the MAC Address from the TCP/IP module or use the tool dgdiscvr.exe, see (4. Check the current version of the TCP/IP controller) 5.2. Run batch program Digi_up.bat 1. Open the Windows DOS-Window 2. Choose the folder were you have copied the files from the LAN_Update.zip e.g.: cd LAN_Update 3. Write Digi_up.bat followed by the MAC address of the reader: e.g.: Digi_up.bat 00409D232D9B 4. 8 5. To get the response command complete takes about 1minute. Please wait! After message appears please wait again about 1 minute. Please do not switch OFF the reader or make any entries in the DOS-Box. The green LED on the TCP/IP controller must be in OFF condition and the yellow LED must in ON condition. 6. After about 2 minutes Press any Key 5.3. Load the configuration for the TCP/IP controller 1. Chose now 4 to load the new configuration setting into the TCP/IP controller. Please wait 15 seconds. 9 2. Enter now 3 to perform a reboot. Please wait again 1 minute! The reader has now the default TCP/IP address If you wants to change it please follow the instruction in the following chapter. FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH Page 9 of 11 N e-ID-B.doc

10 6. Change the TCP-IP address 1. Connect the ID ISC.MR200-E reader via the TCP/IP interface to the PC and switch the power supply on. 2. Start the program Digi Device Discovery by double click dgdiscvr.exe 3. The following window appears and the program shows the current default TCP/IP address ( ) of the reader. 4. 11 5. In the following window you can change the settings (IP Address and Subnet Mask). Then press the button Save. 6. The updating process will take a few seconds. 7. After the process has been finished the new TCP/IP address should be displayed. 8.
