Also message MIM2116 was being incorrectly issued as MIM2115. This fix corrects issues with CA MIM message MIM2115 and MIM2116 so they will now appear in MIM JOBLOG when issued. Both messages were updated to indicate they are Error messages. During CA MIA device resynch processing, if a problem occurred and resynchronization failed, the MIM2115 and MIM2116 error messages were issued to SYSLOG, but did not appear in the MIM JOBLOG. MIM2116 was incorrectly being issued as MIM2115. Operators looking at the MIM JOBLOG would be unaware of MIA RESYNCH failures. The S0F8 ABEND occurs in module MIMDRDRV. If the MIM Restart Manager feature has been enabled, it will restart the MIMDRDRV task. However, external MIMplex systems are quiescing in response to the SHUTDOWN GLOBAL. As a result, the MIMplex can remain in a non-synchronized state until the MIM started task on each system in the MIMplex is cancelled or stopped with a SHUTDOWN LOCAL command. This problem is more likely to occur in larger MIMplex environments in which multiple MIM facilities are active. S0F8 in module MIMDRDRV after a SHUTDOWN GLOBAL is underway on a MIMplex system where ziip mode is enabled. The GLOBAL Shutdown of the MIMplex may be delayed due to the non-synchronized MIMplex state that can result when the Restart Manager feature of MIM, if enabled, restarts the MIMDRDRV task in response to the S0F8 ABEND. If Restart Manager is not being used, there is no impact other than an SVC DUMP. SET MIM ZIIP=NO prior to the SHUTDOWN GLOBAL command. The sending system will fill a VCF transfer buffer which is passed to the other system via XCF. Once the SEND is sent and it is considered successful, it then begins to fill another buffer and issues another SEND. The receiving system accepts the VCF transfer buffer into the XCF address space then schedules an SRB into the MIM address space. A very large global copy can cause the buffers to accumulate faster than they can be processed on the receiving system. XCF may reject a SEND causing VCF recovery to be initiated.
