For better Genius Planner printing results, version 10.5 of Mac OS is recommended. The Java cache does not work. 1 Though version 8 of the Internet Explorer browser is supported, it is not recommended. Performance is degraded, considering the weakness of the JavaScript engine of Internet Explorer 8, in particular with the new customizable views, possibly causing the browser to stop working. So we recommend not selecting customizable views in the navigation when using Internet Explorer 8. 2 Security enforcement in version 1.7.0_45 of the Java plug-in by Oracle raises an alert each time a planning is saved. Genius Project Java applets are signed Mandatory ActiveX options in Internet Explorer for Genius Integrator The authorization to execute ActiveX controls is also required in Internet Explorer when Genius Integrator is enabled (it is used for file attachments and views export to Excel). ActiveX controls in the application are signed. Here is the list of ActiveX security options to enable in Internet Explorer to ensure Genius Integrator works properly (Tools > Internet options, Security tab). 7 Likewise, since exporting views in Excel does not support cache formulas, these columns will always be exported (if they are included in the Excel template, and always in flat export). 2.4 PROXY SETTINGS If using a proxy, make sure the URL used to access the environment is not filtered by the proxy. Also, content should not be cached into the proxy. 2.5 PLANNING TOOLS Genius Planner 3 Compatibility of Genius Integrator and Microsoft Office 2007 Genius Integrator (attachments, Integration with Microsoft Office, field exchange, Excel reports) still works with Microsoft Office Nevertheless, it could require editing the template, redoing the layout and saving the existing Office templates with version 2007 of the corresponding application. 4 Known problems with Genius Planner 4.1 PERFORMANCE PROBLEM WHEN LOADING Some antivirus applications check the.jar files of Genius Planner each time a plan is loaded, considerably slowing the application. To avoid this, the antivirus application must be configured not to check the.jar files. The.jar files being compressed files, it may be required to disable the scan of files inside compressed files, if this option is available in the antivirus application (it is available in Symantec Endpoint Protection, Notes Auto- Protect tab, Advanced options). 5 Other known problems 5.1 IMPOSSIBLE TO LOAD THE APPLICATION AFTER LOGIN Some anti malware software can prevent the application to load correctly. This is the case in particular with Yet Another Cleaner (YAC). If it is not possible to exclude the Genius Project URL from the software settings, Genius Inside recommends removing it. 5.2 USE OF OFFICE 2007 TEMPLATES AND ABOVE The new Genius Integrator version integrated in GP 6.52 does support Office 2007 and 2010 templates, but the Word and Excel templates must be saved in the document format (.docx and xlsx), as the template file extension is not yet supported (.dotx and.xltx). 8 5.3 RISKS OVERVIEW AFTER COPY If a project is copied or created from a project template, the links in the risks matrix of the project overview still point to the risks in the original project/template. It is enough to update the overviews in the new project in order for the links to be correctly recalculated. 5.4 POSSIBLE PROBLEM WHEN SETTING A PROJECT CODE FORMAT If the coding is automatic and there is neither the %S nor the %X parameter in the code format, then each project (copied, created form a template) is created with the same code, which makes saving the project description impossible.
