2 GIS Setup & Configuration for Lucity Webmap This session introduces you to the functionality of the GIS Setup & Configuration for Lucity Webmap. 3 Import Alias Names 1. You must import alias names used in the.mxd that you are using to publish to ArcGIS for Server. Go to the Lucity GIS Edit Tools toolbar in ArcMap and select the Alias Import button. You can perform this operation before or after the map service is published.

4 Adding a Map Service to Lucity Administration In order for Lucity to push changes from the web to the edited Geodatabase, we need to add the URL to Lucity s GIS connection string. Also, we need to add a display map service in order for the GIS Web Map to display a map service. In this demonstration, we will showcase our display and edit service to be in one map service but in your production environment they should be split out between the update and the display map services. 1. Go to Lucity Administration and click on the menu GIS 2. Under GIS menu, go to GIS connection strings 3. If a space is not available, click on add connection strings button on the lower left hand corner of the GIS connection string dialog. 4. In the first column, called name add a new name of the GIS Connection string. At a minimum, you need Default as the name of one of the connection strings. These connection strings will be used to update the Geodatabase and the web inputs to the Geodatabase as well. If you already have a connection string, you can use the existing one to add the URL of the Lucity Geodatabase Update map service.

5 5. In the map service column, enter the map service in which you will use to push attribute edits from the web modules to the Geodatabase. Again, rest URL applies. a. Note: we do not push spatial changes from the web modules. Spatial data are strictly updated using Lucity Extensions for ArcGIS Desktop. b. Note: scroll to the right of the connection string dialog and make sure the update checkbox is checked. If not, go to the Lucity Geodatabase Configuration in ArcCatalog and add. Notes:

6 Map Setup Security All users have permissions to maps. The map that is displayed for any particular user is controlled by their default rules group which is defined in security. Only groups that will appear in the "Available Groups" list are those that have been assigned as the default group to at least one user in the User Manager. 1. Within the Lucity Administration UI, Go to the Security/Open Security Program. 2. In the Security dialog, go to the security menu and choose users/groups setup. Double click on one of the users and set the default rules group, or set the default rules group by selecting group from the grid directly.

7 3. Within the default group, list the default group for that user. Once the default group is established, make sure the group has the GIS Web Map permissions. 4. If not, go to permissions within the security dialog and grant the GIS>>GIS Web Map permission to the group. 5. Once finished close dialog.

8 Map Services Setup Now that we ve checked security permissions and made sure our group has rights to associate to each map service, we can now add our map service to Lucity for display. We now support secure map services in ArcGIS for Server. 1. Go to the GIS menu of the Lucity Administration dialog and select map services. a. Add the map service name in the dialog window. b. Add the URL of the map service to the URL field; use the rest URL location c. The order field changes the order of the map services if they are on top or on the bottom. The lower the order number, the map services will be displayed below. The higher the number, the map services will be displayed above the other services that have a lower number. d. Opacity means that the map service will be set to a percentage opacity setting giving a transparent value to all graphical objects within the map service. e. The base map field indicates if the map service will be used as a backdrop, background or a basemap. You may have multiple Basemaps. Basemaps must be tiled. f. The tiled field indicates whether the map service is cached or not. Please check the checkbox if the map service is cached. g. Clients using a proxy can provide the URL in the proxy url location. h. The disable local caching allows layers that change rapidly to always pull down the latest info from the server. Some of the disadvantages for using this functionality is that it degrades performance and increases load on the server. i. UserName and Password is currently used for the upcoming release of the new Lucity Mobile product for Secure Map Services. If you check the RequireLogin checkbox, the tablet will require users to pass in credentials. Currently, secure map services in Lucity WebMap will always prompt for credentials in Lucity 7.60 WebMap. In future versions, the username and password can be used as an automatic login into the Lucity WebMap.

9 j. Test Button: The test button is a good way to verify that the layers are read correctly in Lucity Webmap from the map services. 2. Click save and close dialog 3. Go to the GIS menu of the Lucity Administration dialog and select map setup. 4. Once in the Map Setup dialog, go to the add map setup button Notes:

10 5. In the GIS Map Edit dialog, go to the available map services and add the services needed. Notice that there is a default map; this ensures that all users will be pointed to a default map regardless of the configuration. 6. Do not include any base maps in the Services to Display in Map 7. The Disable Identify checkbox in the Services to Display in Map window signifies that the map service cannot be identified in the Lucity WebMap. For example, you have a contour map service, by checking the disable identify checkbox you will be telling the Lucity WebMap not to identify attributes using the Identify tool or the Selection tool. 8. You can specify a different Geocoding service other than the default in this dialog. 9. Add the redlining map services if you want this capability in Webmap 10. The Enable Local Services checkbox is a function for our ArcGIS Viewer product built in the ArcGIS Runtime environment. 11. Close the dialog and Save.

11 12. Once saved, you need to assign the new map to a group or set of groups. To assign the map to the group, highlight the available map and the group or set of groups in the available groups box and click on Assign Map to Groups. 13. Click Save and notice the new group or groups associated with the map 14. In the same way, you can Un-Assign Map to the group by selecting on the group within Assigned Groups box and clicking on the Un-Assign Map button. Click Save when finished.

12 Create a BaseMap Thumbnail 1. Open ArcMap document that is used to publish the cached map service and capture screenshot within the Map Document window. 2. Resize the screen captured image to be 200 x 133 pixels. This is the recommended size. 3. Save image as a PNG and name the image the same name as the map service into inetpub\wwwroot\lucityweb\clientbin\gis\basemapthumbnails 4. Afterwards, you should see the new thumbnail when referencing the basemap.

13 Adding Geometry Services to Lucity Administrator 1. In the Lucity Administrator, go to system/settings 2. Click on the GIS Web Tab; notice this has changed in Copy the URL for the Geometry service and add the restapi location to URL for Geometry Service Value; remember the rest URL adds rest in between ArcGIS and services. Example: Notes:

14 Adding Geocoding Service to Lucity Administration 1. In the Lucity Administrator, go to system/settings 2. Click on the GIS Web Tab; notice this has changed in 7.60 Copy the URL for the Geocoding service and add the restapi location to URL for Geocoding Service or URL to parcel layer in map service Service Value; remember the rest URL adds rest in between ArcGIS and services. 15 Lucity Administration System Settings There are some notable changes with the system settings in regards to the Lucity WebMap and SOE functionality. Force GIS Web Map using Default Extent You can force the GIS Web Map to always open to the default extent GIS Viewer Show in Map Use the new GIS Viewer instead of GIS Web Map for Show in Map.

16 Geodatabase Update Failure s The List of s for notifications regarding failures to update the GIS database item in the System Settings>>GIS Edit Integration Tab sends s to designated recipients in case the Lucity Data Update SOE fails to update the Geodatabase. 1. Type in the s that you want to send to in case of an update Geodatabase failure. Send an if no feature is found in GIS to update Sends s regarding failure to find and update a feature within the GIS to a list of s specified in the List of s for notifications regarding failures to update the GIS database if set to True.

17 Operational Data Spatial Reference WKID Defining the operational data spatial reference WKID makes sure that the XY coordinates are properly stored and plotted in the correct spatial reference. If you are using multiple map services with different spatial references, this will ensure the Lucity Web Map is using the organizational spatial reference. 1. Go to ArcCatalog and right click on one of your feature datasets or feature classes and choose properties. Copy the numeric value of the WKID. 2. Go to the Lucity Administration System Settings>>GIS Tab. Go to the item Operational Data Spatial Reference WKID and type in the numeric WKID that you obtained from ArcCatalog.

18 Lucity Web Server and ArcGIS for Server Configuration In ArcGIS for Server 10 when it is installed on a different server than Lucity Web, you need to add the XML files (clientaccesspolicy.xml and the crossdomain.xml) into IIS directory root. In ArcGIS for Server 10.1 when using the Web Adapter, make sure the XML files are installed from the ArcGIS Server Web Adapter installation media. You should see clientaccesspolicy.xml and the crossdomain.xml are installed in the IIS web directory. Below is the HTTPS protocol for the clientaccesspolicty.xml. ESRI recommends using a HTTPS and HTTP hybrid setup if using a DMZ secure system setup (HTTPS for your web adapter in the DMZ, HTTP for the internal ArcGIS for Server). Please add to clientaccesspolicy.xml the syntax in RED to enable the HTTPS protocols for Silverlight. <allow-from http-request-headers="*"> <domain uri=" <domain uri=" </allow-from> Troubleshooting Techniques In many cases when dealing with multiple solutions, troubleshooting can be somewhat of an issue. If experiencing issues or problems with the Lucity software, please call support. If you would like to troubleshoot issues on your own, the below troubleshooting techniques are a good practice when making changes to an existing service or set of services within the Lucity Web Map.

19 Steps in clearing caches for Lucity GIS Web Map After changing settings in an existing GIS Web Map and the map doesn t change appearance or updates aren t showing up in the GIS Web Map. Below are the troubleshooting techniques. 1. Clear Cache from Lucity a. Go to Lucity Administrator b. Click on the system menu c. Click on Manage Website Caches d. Go all the way down to the bottom and click on clear all caches button e. Clear your browser s cache 2. If step one didn t work, repeat step one and perform the following steps. a. Go to the ArcGIS for Server RESTAPI Administrative page; In ArcGIS v10.1 and higher, this is no longer necessary. i. This is located at http(s)://<web address>/arcgis/rest/admin ii. As an example: b. Login to page with a user that is a member of agsadmin c. Click on Clear Cache Options d. Click on Clear Cache Now; if you want to have the RESTAPI clear at a faster interval, please check and update the periodic cache policy settings and apply settings.

20 3. At this point, you have exhausted all troubleshooting requirements for a map refresh. Call technical support.
