3 Lease Standalone Installation Instructions NOTE: AFT's policy for activation allows for a 7 day grace period, where the end-user is to contact AFT and activate the license. If the end user does not contact AFT within that time frame, then the 90 day lease period will begin 7 days after the purchase date. 1. Install Copy Protection and AFT applications on a local standalone machine: CD Option: Insert the AFT disc into your CD/DVD drive on the local machine. Select Install Full Software, select Install Copy Protection and click Install Selected Product. Download: Download the AFT Copy Protection from the website and click Run. 2. Follow the prompts in the InstallShield Wizard. a. Choose CrypKey License (needs activation) and click Next. b. Choose Install the CrypKey License and click Next. i. Click Yes or Next to follow all the prompts. ii. On evaluation form, fill out Company/Contact Information. Select at least one product to evaluate. 3 of 16

4 iii. Click Send to automatically send the Site Code to AFT. iv. If Send does not work, browse to C:\AFT Products\CrypKey, open the file CrypKeyActivation.txt, copy/paste the site code into the file on the Site Code = line (see highlighted screenshot below). Save the file and it to support@aft.com as an attachment. 3. AFT will write a license and back the file aft_ck.clf. Save this file to the path C:\AFT Products\CrypKey 4 of 16

5 Troubleshooting Step: If there are problems with generating the CrypKeyActivation.txt file, run the AFTCrypKeyManagementUtility.exe to obtain the folder site code. a. Follow the path C:\AFT Products\CrypKey to locate the AFTCrypKeyManagementUtility.exe file. b. Run the utility and in the License Directory field, click the select button. c. Navigate through C:\AFT Products\CrypKey and click on the CrypKey folder and click OK. d. This will generate a folder site code which is located in the Folder Site Code field that is highlighted in green. e. Copy/Paste this Folder Site Code into an and send to support@aft.com. 4. Install the AFT application(s). CD Option: Insert the AFT disc into your CD/DVD drive on the Client PC. Select Install Full Software, select the AFT application to install and click Install Selected Product. Download: Download the AFT application from the websitehttp:// click Release beside the product to be downloaded, click Download Full Version, click Run. 5. Follow the prompts to accept the license agreement terms. 5 of 16

6 6. For the Enter License Number window, enter the User Name and Company Name (which can be specific or generic). Enter the license number provided by AFT (the license number has the form of XXXX-XXXXX). 7. Select Application on a Standalone/Client Computer for your Setup Type. 8. Follow remaining prompts and installation is complete. 9. Repeat steps 4-8 to install other AFT products. 6 of 16

7 Lease Network Installation Instructions Option 1 These instructions are for installing the AFT application software on the client machines, leaving only the copy protection setup to be installed on the server. Make sure you are logged on as an administrator before running any installation files. NOTE: AFT's policy for activation allows for a 7 day grace period, where the end user is to contact AFT and activate the license. If the end user does not contact AFT within that time frame, then the 90 day lease period will begin 7 days after the purchase date. Instructions To Be Followed On the Network Server 1. Install the Copy Protection on the network server: CD Option: Insert the AFT disc into your CD/DVD drive on the network server. Select Install Full Software, select Install Copy Protection and click Install Selected Product. Download: Download AFT Copy Protection from the website and click Run. 7 of 16

8 2. Follow the prompts in the InstallShield Wizard. a. Choose CrypKey License (needs activation) and click Next. b. Choose *Install CrypKey Components on Client PC (Network License Only) and click Next. i. Click Yes or Next to follow all the prompts. 3. Once the CrypKey Components are installed to the server under the path C:\AFT Products\CrypKey, the AFT Products folder needs to be shared so the Client PC can locate the CrypKey license file on the server. 4. On the server, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the AFT Products folder (usually, C:\AFT Products). 5. Right click on the AFT Products Folder, select Properties a. Click on the Sharing tab, click Share this folder, click Permissions, select Everyone (if it is not in the Group list, you may add it), click the Full Control box to give Everyone full permissions. Click Apply, click Ok. b. On the Security tab, make sure that Everyone is added to the group list. Click the Full Control button in the Permissions for Administrators field; this will automatically check all the rest of the boxes for you. You can also check Full Control for all the rest of the users. c. Click Apply, click Ok. 8 of 16

9 Instructions To Be Followed On The Client PC 1. Install the Copy Protection on the Client PC. CD Option: Insert the AFT disc into your CD/DVD drive on the Client PC. Select Install Full Software, select Install Copy Protection and click Install Selected Product. Download: Download the AFT Copy Protection from the website and click Run. 2. Follow the prompts in the InstallShield Wizard. a. Choose CrypKey License (needs activation) and click Next. b. Choose *Install CrypKey Components on Client PC (Network License Only) and click Next. i. Click Yes or Next to follow all the prompts. Note: Steps 3 4 only need to be performed on one Client PC. 3. From the Client PC, browse to the location C:\AFT Products\CrypKey, and run the file AFTCrypkeyManagementUtility.exe. 4. For the License Directory field, press the select button, and browse to the network server location that has the shared AFT Products folder, highlight CrypKey, click Ok. This will generate a specific Folder Site Code of the location on the server where the CrypKey license will need to go. 9 of 16

10 5. Copy and paste this Folder Site Code into an and send it to 6. AFT will send you back the CrypKey license file, aft_ck.clf. Save this file to the server location, server name:\aft Products\CrypKey. 7. Install the AFT software programs to each Client PC. CD Option: Insert the AFT disc into your CD/DVD drive on the Client PC. Click Install Full Software, select the AFT application to install, click Install Selected Product. Download: Download the AFT application from the website click Release beside the product to be downloaded, click Download Full Version, click Run. 8. Follow the prompts in the InstallShield Wizard. 11 12. Repeat Steps to install additional AFT products. 13. Update the CONTROL.AFT folder in your AFT Application folder. On each Client PC, go to the local AFT Application folder (i.e. C:\AFT Products\AFT Fathom 7.0 for AFT Fathom). 14. Open the CONTROL.AFT file in the application folder using notepad: Set the line: CrypkeyPath = To: CrypkeyPath = \\[servername]\[sharedfolder] From sharing the AFT Products forlder on the server in steps 4-6, an example would look like: CrypkeyPath = \\AFT Server\AFT Products\Crypkey NOTE: The control.aft file needs to be updated for each AFT Product installed on each Client PC 15. Save the CONTROL.AFT file. The software is now ready to use. 11 of 16

NOTE: Be sure that steps 3 4 are NOT performed through a remote or virtual connection to the server. The folder site code needs to be obtained physically at the server. 3. From the server, browse to the location server name:\aft Products\CrypKey, and run the file AFTCrypkeyManagementUtility.exe. 4. For the License Directory field, press the select button, and browse to the network server location that has the AFT Products folder, highlight CrypKey, click Ok. This will generate a specific Folder Site Code of the location on the server where the CrypKey license will need to go. 5. Enter the license number provided by AFT (the license number has the form of XXXX-XXXXX). 10. Select Application on a Server for your Setup Type. Follow the prompts to complete installation. 11. Repeat steps 7-10 to install additional AFT applications. 12. Share the AFT Products folder on the server so Everyone can have full access. 14 of 16

This step needs to be performed if the AFT applications are installed via the Download option of Step 7 (above): The Network Client Setup folder needs to be manually created for each AFT application folder on the server (ie, server name\aft Products\AFT Fathom 7.0\Network Client Setup). From the current AFT application release on the website, save the AFT application specific network client setup file to the AFT application specific Network Client Setup folder on the server. NOTE: If installing with the AFT disc on the server, there is already a folder called Network Client Setup in each of the AFT application folders on the server with the network client setup executable file already in it. So in that case, step 13 can be skipped. Instructions for the Client PCs Accessing the License and AFT Application on the Server 1. Install the Copy Protection to each Client PC. CD Option: Insert the AFT CD into your CD/DVD drive on the Client PC. Select Install Full Software, select Install Copy Protection and click Install Selected Product. Download: Download AFT Copy Protection from the website and click Run. 15 of 16

16 2. Follow the prompts in the InstallShield Wizard. a. Choose CrypKey License (needs activation) and click Next. b. Choose *Install CrypKey Components on Client PC (Network License Only) and click Next. i. Click Yes or Next to follow all the prompts. 3. On the Client PC, navigate to the Network Client Setup folder on the server, and run the AFT application network client setup executable. Follow the prompts and the installation is complete. NOTE: All the Network Client Setup executable files are AFT application specific. From each client PC using the software, the AFT application specific network client setup file needs to be ran for each AFT application to use. 4. Run the software program. When it asks to update the Matrix Library File, click yes. 16 of 16
