Standalone License Installation

1 Revised 11/17/11 MEASURE 2011 Installing a standalone Measure 2011 license for a single workstation consists of four steps: 1) download the Measure setup and update files, 2) install Measure 2011, 3) update Measure 2011, and 4) register your serial number. Please note: the instructions below are specifically for Internet Explorer 9. If you are using a different browser or a different version of Internet Explorer, some of the windows and prompts may differ. Download Measure Setup and Update Files 1. You will receive an e mail from Measure Support with instructions and the serial number(s) for your Measure 2011 license(s). Click on the first link in the e mail to go to the installation instructions posted on the Measure Forum. Standalone License Installation 2. When the Measure Forum posting appears, review the Release Notes and other important information provided in Step 1.

2 2 3. After you have reviewed that information, scroll down until you get to Step 2 for downloading Measure. Click on that link to open the Measure 2011 Download Web page. 4. When the Measure 2011 Download Web page opens, make sure that you are logged on to your computer as an Administrator and click on the link to review the System Requirements for Measure. 5. Once you are ready to install Measure, click on the Download button for the Setup_1125.exe file in Step 2 on the Measure 2011 Download Web page.

3 3 6. A prompt will appear asking whether you want to run or save the Measure setup file. Click on the down arrow at the right edge of the Save button. We recommend saving the setup file to your Desktop to make it easy to find. 7. Click on Save as in the menu that appears. When the Save As dialog box appears, click on Desktop on the left hand side of the dialog box, then click on the Save button. 8. Go back to the Measure 2011 Download Web page, and click on the Download button for the Update_1235.exe file.

4 4 9. A prompt will appear asking whether you want to run or save the Measure update file. Click on the down arrow at the right edge of the Save button. We recommend saving the update file to your Desktop to make it easy to find. 10. Click on Save as in the menu that appears. When the Save As dialog box appears, click on Desktop on the left hand side of the dialog box, then click on the Save button. Install Measure After you have finished downloading the Measure setup and update files, doubleclick on the Setup_1125.exe file on your Desktop.

5 5 2. Choose your setup language and click on the OK button. 3. The InstallShield Wizard will extract the files needed for the installation. Wait for this to finish. 4. After the installation files have been extracted, the Welcomee screen will appear for the Measure InstallShield Wizard. Click on the Next button. 5. Review the License Agreement when it appears and, if desired, click on the Print button to maintain a printed copy of the agreement. Click on I accept the terms in the license agreement and then click on the Next button.

6 6 6. Click on the Install button to begin installing Measure on your workstation. 7. After the installation has completed, click on the Finish button to exit the wizard. Update Measure Now that Measure has been installed, you need to install the critical update. Double file on your Desktop. click on the Update_1235.exee

7 7 2. If you are asked to confirm installing the Measure update, click on the Run button. 3. The InstallShield Wizard will extract the files needed for installing the update. Wait for this to finish. 4. After the installation files have been extracted, the Welcome screen will appear for the Measure Update InstallShield Wizard. Click on the Update button to begin installing the Measure update. 5. The InstallShield Wizard will install the Measure update. When the update is complete, click on the Finish button to exit the wizard.

8 8 Register Your Serial Number 1. Go back to the license e mail you received and highlight the serial number that begins MSR7. Right click on the highlighted serial number and choose Copy. 2. The Measure installation will place a Measure 2011 shortcut on your Desktop. Double click on it to start Measure 2011 for the first time. 3. The Measure Registration dialog box will appear. Enter your name and organization name. The serial number you copied from your license e mail should automatically appear. If it doesn t, right click in the Serial Number box and choose Paste. Make sure your Internet connection is active and click on the Register button.

9 9 4. After your serial number has been successfully registered, the Measure Customization Wizard will open. Follow the steps in the wizard to customize Measure for your type of business, or click on the Exit button to skip the customization and go directly to Measure. 5. Measure will open. If you have any difficulties with nstalling Measure, there are several resources available to help you: You may post the details of your installation problem on the Measure Forum. The Forum is monitored by both users and Measure support staff so this is usually the fastest way to get help. You may send an e mail to measuresupport@rfms.com. Pleasee include your company name, phone number, and any details you can provide about the installation problem. You may call Measure Support at to schedule an installationn appointmen with a Measure Support technician. Measure installation support has a minimum fee of $75 for the first hour or portion of an hour, with an additionall $75 charge for each additional hour or portion of an hour.
