5 Safety information 1 Safety information To prevent damage to the unit, heed the following information. Connect only USB flash drives that use flash memory. Do not connect a USB flash drive with more than 32 GB of memory Do not connect any USB printers, external hard drives, WLAN, UMTS or Bluetooth adapters or any other USB devices. Do not connect a PC or notebook. Do not use force to insert a USB flash drive. Always insert the USB flash drive before reading/writing data and do not remove it until after data transfer is complete. Operating instructions 5

6 Installation instructions 2 Installation instructions 2.1 System requirements Hardware Processor: Pentium IV or higher RAM: 1GB Hard drive storage capacity: 200MB Operating system Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows 8 Windows Installation Software Microsoft.NET Framework or higher (x86 or x64) All required programs are provided on the CD / USB flash drive. Requirement CD loaded or USB flash drive connected to computer. 1. Select program folder. 2. Start Setup.exe. 3. Select language. The InstallShield Wizard guides you through installation of the program. 4. Follow the program instructions and accept the licence agreement. 7 Installation instructions 2.3 Uninstalling Requirement Via setup.exe Program installed CD loaded or USB flash drive connected to computer 1. Launch Setup.exe. 2. Select "Uninstall program". The program is removed from the computer. Requirement Via Windows Program installed 3. Press the Windows "Start" button. 4. Select "Settings". 5. Select "Control Panel". 6. Select "Software". 7. Select "FlexiCombi connect". 8. Select "Remove". The program is removed. Operating instructions 7

8 Program description 3 Program description 3.1 General information 3.2 Start page for functions The FlexiCombi connect program permits exchange of data between the FlexiCombi combisteamer and an office computer or Notebook, in short, a PC. The primary function of FlexiCombi connect is management of a personal cookbook containing cooking programs and evaluation of the HACCP logs. File "Loading file into personal cookbook" A file with cooking program data can be loaded and saved to the personal cookbook. 8 Operating instructions

9 Program description "Saving personal cookbook to file" The personal cookbook is saved as a file and can then be forwarded or loaded on a FlexiCombi. "Importing manufacturer's cookbook" Enables a new manufacturer's cookbook to be loaded. "End" The program is terminated. Before the program can be terminated, all other windows of the program must be closed. Cookbook "Editing cooking programs" The data for the cooking programs in the personal cookbook can be edited. New cooking programs can be added. Existing cooking programs can be deleted. Options "Languages" The desired language can be set. The language switching does not require the program to be reloaded. "Temperature" Selection of the unit of temperature between C (Celsius) and F (Fahrenheit). Help "Help" Display of the Operating instructions (PDF file) in an external PDF reader, e.g. Acrobat Reader or Foxit Reader. "Info" Display of information about the FlexiCombi connect program. 10 Program description 3.3 Cookbook functions Two cookbooks can be opened in the application. The standard cookbook Recipes developed by MKN are provided in the standard cookbook. The following functions are available: Display an overview of the cooking programs Display the cooking program data Copy cooking program from the standard cookbook to the personal cookbook Print a list of the cooking programs Print the data from one or several cooking programs The personal cookbook Cooking programs that can be run on the FlexiCombi are saved in the personal cookbook. The following functions are available: Display an overview of the cooking programs as a list Create new cooking programs Delete cooking programs Save cooking programs Edit the cooking steps of a cooking program Add and delete cooking steps Save the personal cookbook to a final Load a file with cooking programs into the personal cookbook Print a list of the cooking programs Print the data from one or several cooking programs 10 Operating instructions

11 Import and export of cooking programs 4 Import and export of cooking programs When exporting cooking programs, already exported cooking programs on the USB flash drive are overwritten. Existing cooking programs can be overwritten or the file names of the imported cooking programs can have a supplement added. Requirement Transferring cooking programs from the FlexiCombi Cooking programs in the FlexiCombi saved to a USB flash drive. (See FlexiCombi operating instructions) FlexiCombi connect installed and started USB flash drive connected to computer 1. Select "File" field in the main menu. 2. Select field for "Load file into personal cookbook". Select dialogue field. 3. Select desired file. File is loaded into the personal cookbook. Requirement Transferring cooking programs to the FlexiCombi USB flash drive connected to computer Folder with the name "FCImport" exists on the USB flash drive 1. Select "File" field in the main menu. 2. Select "Save personal cookbook to file". The dialogue field appears 3. Select the "FCImport" folder. 4. Confirm by pressing the field "OK". The cooking programs are transferred to the USB flash drive. 5. Transfer cooking programs from the USB flash drive to the FlexiCombi. (see FlexiCombi operating instructions). The cooking programs are transferred to the FlexiCombi. It is also possible to transfer only selected cooking programs to the FlexiCombi. Highlight the desired programs and select "Save selected cooking programs to file". Operating instructions 11

14 Editing cooking programs 5.1 Creating a new cooking program Requirement Program started 1. In the menu bar, select "Cookbook", "Personal cookbook" in the selection menu. 2. In the menu bar, select the field "New". A new cooking program has been created. Editing the data for the cooking program 3. Edit the individual fields for the data of the cooking program. The name of the cooking program must not exceed a maximum of 100 characters. A recipe in HTML format can be assigned to every cooking program. A photo in PNG format can be assigned to every cooking program. Editing the cooking steps Max. three cooking steps appear in the display. New cooking steps can be added via the field "New" to the right or left of the existing cooking step. If there are more than three cooking steps, these can be displayed with the aid of the scroll bar above the cooking step. Cooking steps can be deleted with "Delete". 4. Select the field "Edit" in the cooking step. A window for editing the cooking step opens. The number of the cooking step is displayed in the menu bar. 5. Select the cooking mode group with the aid of the scroll bar. 6. Select the field "Cooking mode". 7. Set the additional data for the cooking step by entering numbers or use the corresponding fields. The selection of cooking modes and auxiliary functions represents the entry on the FlexiCombi. During entry of the cooking step data, all values are checked and only permissible combinations allowed. 8. In the menu bar, select the field "Save". The window closes, data are saved. The desired data in the cooking program and the cooking step have been changed. 14 Operating instructions

15 Editing cooking programs Saving the cooking program 9. In the "Save" selection menu in the menu bar, select the save mode. Changed data are saved in the personal cookbook. 5.2 Transferring a cooking program from the manufacturer's cookbook Requirement Program started 1. In the menu bar, select the desired language in the "Cookbook" selection menu. The list of cooking programs shows the cooking programs in the manufacturer's cookbook. The contents of the list can be filtered by selecting the main category and sub-category. Selecting "Cookbook all categories" shows you the cooking programs in all categories. 2. Select the desired cooking program. The data for the cooking program and cooking steps is displayed. 3. Select the field "Copy" in the menu bar. The cooking program is copied to the "Personal cookbook" and can be opened and changed there. 5.3 Editing a cooking program in the personal cookbook Requirement Program started 1. Select "Personal cookbook" in the "Cookbook" selection menu in the menu bar. The list of cooking programs shows the existing cooking programs. The contents of the list can be filtered by selecting the main category and sub-category. Selecting "Cookbook all categories" shows you the cooking programs in all categories. 2. 17 HACCP evaluation 6 HACCP evaluation 6.1 General Image: Start page of HACCP HACCP logs The HACCP logs from one day are saved together in a file. The filename consists of the log date and the machine no., e.g _HACCP_ hac All HACCP log files from one year are saved in a common directory, e.g. \2014. Description of function The HACCP function enables the HACCP data from the FlexiCombi to be evaluated. Main functions: Loading a directory with HACCP logs Selection of the HACCP logs for a day Display of an individual HACCP log with temperature data Saving the HACCP logs in a text file Printing one or several HACCP logs Display of the temperature progression Operating instructions 17

18 HACCP evaluation 6.2 Opening the HACCP logs Requirement HACCP logs from the FlexiCombi saved on a USB flash drive (see FlexiCombi operating instructions) USB flash drive connected to computer 6.3 Evaluating the HACCP logs 1. Select the "HACCP" field on the Start page. The HACCP window opens. 2. Select the "Directory selection" field in the menu bar. 3. Select the field for "Select path to HACCP files" to select a directory with HACCP logs. or 4. Select the field for "Load HACCP files" to select an individual log. The log is displayed. Requirement Directory with HACCP logs open By default, all HACCP logs for a day are displayed. "Equipment selection" shows a list of the equipment for which HACCP logs exist in this directory. "Date selection" shows highlighted date entries for which HACCP logs exist. 1. Select an individual unit from the field "Equipment selection". Only HACCP logs for the selected unit are displayed. In "Date selection", only the days for which HACCP logs exist are highlighted. 2. Select a day from the field "Date selection". The HACCP daily log for the selected unit is displayed. 3. The log can be printed by selecting the field "Print" or the fields "File", "Print log". 4. The log can be saved by selecting the field "Save" or the fields "File", "Save log". Editing of the HACCP daily log is now completed. 5. An individual log can be selected from the selection bar above the HACCP daily log. The selected HACCP log is displayed. An individual HACCP log can be edited in the same manner as the HACCP daily log. When an individual HACCP log is displayed, the temperature curve for the cooking zone is displayed as well. When a core temperature sensor is used, the temperature curve for the core temperature is displayed as well. 18 Operating instructions

19 HACCP evaluation Content of an HACCP daily log The HACCP log contains: "Unit No." "Unit size" "Date" Date on which the HACCP data was recorded "Cooking program" Cooking program name if selected from autochef. "Manual", if cooking mode was selected via Manual cooking. "Start" Start time of the cooking program or manually selected cooking mode. "Stop" Stop time of the cooking program or manually selected cooking mode. "Duration" The difference between the start time and stop time. Every cooking program consists of one or several cooking steps. These are displayed sequentially with the set and actual values: "No." Cooking step number "Cooking mode" Cooking mode, which was performed in this cooking step. "Temperature" Set value, minimum and maximum actual values during the cooking step. Core temperature sensor Set core temperature, "---" if no core temperature sensor was used. Maximum measured core temperature, if a core temperature sensor was used. "Time" The set cooking time or continuous operation Duration of the cooking step Operating instructions 19
