2 Ho w Do I Se l e c t a Pe r f o r m a n c e? Use the following procedure to select a performance: Press the PERFORM button in the MODE area so it lights. Turn the VALUE dial to select the desired performance. How Do I Select a Performance?
3 Ho w Do I Ch a n g e Th e Sp l i t Po i n t? Use the following procedure to change the keyboard s split point: Press and hold the SPLIT button to display Split Point. Turn the VALUE dial to select the desired split point. Press EXIT/NO to return to the Main display. How Do I Change The Split Point?
4 Ho w Do I Lay e r t h e Ke y b o a r d? Use the following procedure to layer two tones: Press the DUAL button in the KEYBOARD area so it lights. Press the UPPER button so it lights. Use the tone category buttons and the VALUE dial to select the Upper instrument of the layer. Press the LOWER button so it lights. Use the tone category buttons and the VALUE dial to select the Lower instrument of the layer. Press and hold the UPPER button for approximately two seconds to display the volume-setting screen for the Upper part. Turn the VALUE dial to adjust the volume of the Upper part. Press LOWER to display the volume-setting screen for the Lower part. Turn the VALUE dial to adjust the volume of the Lower part. Press EXIT to return to the Main display. Note: You can only select a non-drum-set sound as the second tone in a layer. How Do I Layer the Keyboard?
5 Ho w Do I Sa v e a Pe r f o r m a n c e? The can store your favorite settings as a performance you can easily recall at any time. There are performance memory locations. Use the following procedure to save a performance: Press the FUNCTION button. Use the SELECT and buttons to display Write Perform? Press the ENTER button to display Perform Num:Uf00. Turn the VALUE dial to select the desired performance memory destination from Uf00-Uf0. Press ENTER. 6 Use the SELECT and buttons and the VALUE dial to enter a name for your new performance. 7 Press ENTER to display Write Sure? Important: If you ve already stored a performance in the selected location, the new performance will take its place. Before proceeding, verify that there s nothing in the location you want to keep, or select a memory location you re sure is so-far unused. 8 Press ENTER to finish saving the performance. Note: A performance contains and can therefore instantly recall the following settings: Music style Tempo Tempo Tone for the keyboard mode Effect (Chorus, Reverb) Band type Keyboard touch How Do I Save a Performance?
6 Ho w Do I Re c o r d a So n g? The has a 6-track sequencer. Use the following procedure to record multiple tracks: Press SONG REC so it flashes. Turn the VALUE dial to select Rec Mode: KBD. Press START/STOP to begin recording. Press START/STOP again when you re finished recording. Press SONG REC so it flashes. 6 Turn the VALUE dial to select Rec Mode:SINGLE. 7 Press the SELECT button. 8 Turn the VALUE dial to select Rec Track: or the next available track. 9 0 Choose a tone for the track you selected in Step 8. Press START/STOP to begin recording the new track. Note: You ll hear your first-recorded track as you record the new track. Press START/STOP when you re done recording. Repeat Steps 7 through to record additional tracks. How Do I Record a Song? 6

If you re not already logged into Roland Backstage, the Roland Backstage login appears. If you re: 6 a Roland Backstage member enter your address and password, and then click the Login button. not yet a Roland Backstage member click Create New Profile to create a free new user account. As a Roland Backstage member, you become part of the online Roland US.com community and gain access to helpful tools and services. Once you re logged in, click the large Knowledge Base button. On the Knowledge Base screen, enter in the Product field. Click the Find button in the middle of the screen to browse the available Knowledge Base articles.
