1 PUSH ipad Graphics package Welcome Thanks for purchasing the PUSH graphics package. This document is design to explain some of the features of the graphics pack which will save you time when implementing. Version 1.7 has been released to coincide with the new pop-up features of the Project Editor. For a quick understanding of how the final interface should look and feel, you can download the bundle files here: ipad ipod/iphone What s inside This graphics pack includes - ipod Touch/iPhone ipad single zone GUI group - ipad multi zone GUI group - Graphics folder containing o Hundreds of channel icons o A variety of different background designs and colours o 150 device icons in four sizes and 25 colour variations o Zone images and buttons o Popup panels and images. Pre-requisites This Package is designed around features only present in Project Editor Version 1.7 and above. Graphics Folder Browse the graphics folder to find hundreds of graphic elements you can use in your project. The most common of these being device icons and zone icons. Home Page The home page will differ depending on whether the single zone or multi zone group is selected.

2 Single Zone The single zone home page is designed to contain device icons related to the system you are controlling. Multi Zone The multi zone home is designed to control multiple rooms. Fill this page with matching zone icon images of the areas you wish to control, then have these buttons call a popup of the devices in that zone. Having the one Home page makes navigating the interface much easier for the end user. Pre-made Device Pages Each GUI group contains dozens of pre-made GUI pages in both portrait and landscape to suit your project. Every page has an on-rotation link assigned and each button has a command tag associated where applicable. A nice upgrade from previous templates is the use of a Devices tab. This utilises the new popup features of 1.7 and calls a Devices popup page which will allow you to create a quick link to your devices without needing to copy and paste them onto every page.

3 Single Zone Implementation Create a new project - Open the Project Editor - File -> New Project Create a new Group - Right click on GUIs and select Add GUI Group - Name it appropriately and select OK Import the PUSH GUI - Right click on GUI s and select import GUI Group - Select the ipad_single_zone group and select OK

4 Drag-and-drop pages - Drag and drop the pages you wish to use into the group you created earlier. This process is much quicker than copy and paste, or deleting the un-required pages. - When you have moved all of the required pages, delete the imported group. - If you have forgotten a page at this point, you can always re-import this group at a later stage and repeat the process. - Required pages (assuming portrait orientation); o POPUP-Devices_P A popup page called from every page in the interface. o A_HOME_SingleZone_P o POPUP-PowerOff A confirmation popup that appears whenever the power off button is pressed. o Device Pages Drag and drop pages to match devices in your system.

5 Populate Device Icons - From the graphics pack folder, navigate to Device Icons and select the correct resolutions buttons for your device - Open a device folder to match one of the devices in your system (eg. Tivo) - From your folder, drag and drop the desired colour icons onto a placeholder - To complete the button, drag and drop the pressed state icon onto a placeholder while holding shift - Repeat this process for every device in your system.

6 Multi-zone Implementation Create a new project - Open the Project Editor - File -> New Project Create a new Group - Right click on GUIs and select Add GUI Group - Name it appropriately and select OK Import the PUSH GUI - Right click on GUI s and select import GUI Group - Select the ipad_multi_zone group and select OK

7 Drag-and-drop pages The process for creating a multi-zone interface is much the same as the single-zone process but instead of dragging and dropping the A_HOME_SingleZone_P page into the new GUI group, the A_HOME_MultiZone_P is used. - Drag and drop the pages you wish to use into the group you created earlier. 8 Multiple Device Pages As the multi-zone job may require multiple pages of the same device type (e.g. there may be a DTV and Blu-ray player in each of the rooms) some of the pre-made device pages will need to be duplicated. It is recommended that if there are multiple devices of the same model that the device specific page is customised to include any buttons particular to that device before duplicating it (e.g. Samsung TVs have a Smart Hub function that will need to be manually customised on the DTV page), though actually populating the buttons with commands is best left until later. Duplicating GUI Pages To duplicate pages, right click on the desired device page and select Copy then move to the top of the GUI group tree, right click on the GUI group name, and select Paste. You may wish to rename duplicated pages

Additional steps for Multi-Zone Populating the device icons will need to be repeated for each of the zones in the project. The POPUP- Devices-P page can be duplicated just like any other page. As previously, it is recommended that each page is named appropriately to track which zone the icons are directed to. The devices tab on each of the devices pages will need to also be adjusted so that the devices tab will open the pop-up that corresponds to the devices in the zone. This is done by right clicking on the devices tab and selecting Properties. In the navigation section of the properties window, select the appropriate pop-up page from the drop-down menu. This will need to be replicated on each of the devices pages in the zone, which can be quickly done by copying and pasting the devices tab onto each page. Ensure the existing devices tabs are deleted as you go.

11 System On/Off The PUSH templates have been designed to take advantage of the logical programming available in the Project Editor. This means a specific SYSTEM ON button isn t used, it is assumes that macros are created in a way that the system is turned on when selecting an input. If a System ON button is required, you can find it in the graphics resources folder at device Icons/[icon size]/power Every page has a power off button; this button calls a popup that will confirm that the customer wants to turn off their system. In multi zone situations, this shows a list of zones in the project allowing the user to shut the system down in those areas.
