2 Introduction Installation Flow This document describes how to use a purchase key to acquire a license file, and how to install the license file on an NSR-500 series unit. Installing the license file on the NSR-500 series increases the maximum number of cameras that can be registered to 24. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Verifying the Purchase Key Acquiring the License File Installing the License File Note The license file requires the serial number (S/N) of the NSR-500 series unit on which the file will be installed. The serial number can be found as follows on the package label of the NSR-500 series unit, and on the front and rear panels of the unit. You can also select [Information] in the software logon screen and find the serial number in the information screen that appears. 3 Step 1: Verifying the Purchase Key Step 2: Acquiring the License File Keep the LICENSE PURCHASE KEY NOTIFICATION handy. The purchase key can be found in the LICENSE PURCHASE KEY NOTIFICATION. Note The design and naming of the LICENSE PURCHASE KEY NOTIFICATION are subject to change without notice. Access the Sony license file download site (ecsite) from a web browser, and acquire the license file. 1 Write down the serial number (S/N) of the NSR-500 series unit on which the license file will be installed. Entry of this serial number will be required during the application process for the license file. For details on verifying the serial number, see Installation Flow (page 2). 2 Start the web browser on your computer. 3 Enter the following URL in the address field of the web browser. The ecsite login screen appears. 4 Enter the user ID and password, and click [Login]. User registration is required when logging in for the first time after renewing ecsite. For details, see Registering the user (page 4). The user ID can be found in the ecsite user registration completion . For the password, enter the password configured during ecsite user registration. 5 Enter the access code, and click [Login]. The access code can be found in the ecsite user registration completion . 4 4 Click [Download License File]. <serial number>_<number of cameras>.lic _20.lic Log out after download is complete. The home screen appears. 6 Click [RealShot Manager Tool] on the left side of the screen. Registering the user 1 Click [User Registration] at the bottom right of the login screen. 2 When the user registration screen appears, enter the address and password, and click [Registration]. 7 Download the license file. Enter a password that is at least 8-digits and up to 16-digits long and includes at least one number (0 to 9), one lower-case letter (a to z), and one uppercase letter (A to Z). 3 After you receive the user registration completion , access the enclosed URL. Be sure to access the URL within 24 hours of receiving the . When the user registration completion screen appears and you click [Login] (blue text) at the top left of the screen, the login screen appears. Note The user ID and access code included in the user registration completion are required for login. 1 Click [V], and select a book ID from the drop-down list. 2 Select the NSR-500 series unit in [Product Name], enter the unit s serial number (7 digits), and then click [Add]. 3 Select [Serial Number/Authorization Code] if the LICENSE PURCHASE KEY NOTIFICATION includes a serial number (7 digits) and authorization code (3 digits - 3 digits - 3 digits), or select [Purchase Key] if it only includes a purchase key (12 digits), enter the respective number(s), and then click [Assign]. 4 Step 2: Acquiring the License File

5 Step 3: Installing the License File 3 Verify the contents, and click [OK]. Install the license file from the [Administration Menu] of the NSR-500 series unit. Caution The unit will automatically restart after installation of the license file. Therefore, install the license file under conditions where restarting the unit will not interfere with operations in progress. 1 Connect the USB flash memory device onto which the license file has been copied to a USB port on the unit. A confirmation message appears. 4 Verify the content of the message, and click [OK]. Disconnect the USB flash memory device after the message appears. Caution Do not change the file name or extension of the license file. Do not create folders on the USB flash memory device. Copy the license file directly onto the USB flash memory device. Do not store files other than the license file on the USB flash memory device. Notes Only FAT-format USB flash memory devices are supported. You can connect the USB flash memory device to any one of the USB ports. 2 Click [License Installation] in the [Administration Menu] screen. The license file is installed, and the unit restarts. The number of cameras included in the license is enabled after the unit restarts. After the unit restarts, you can check whether the license was installed properly by clicking [Information] in the logon screen. The [License Installation] screen appears.
