3 [1]SoftwareUpdate Purpose of this manual This document describes how to update the PWS-100RX1/PWS-110RX1 application software programs to the latest version as follows. 4 [2]SoftwareUpdate Preparation Note If the version of the unit is V6.0 or earlier, update the unit to V6.1 at first, then perform this installation. In this update, configuration information in V6 will not be handed over to V8.0. Before updating, please note network settings. Please keep all camcorders and wireless adapters offline when doing this update. Equipment required A USB mouse A USB keyboard A HDMI monitor A USB flash memory (commercially available, 1GB or more recommended) Required file Data file for update (installation package): PWS-100RX1_V8.0.zip Procedure 5. Connect the mouse and the keyboard to the USB connectors. Connect the monitor to the HDMI connector. Copy the data file "PWS-100RX1_V8.0.zip" to the USB flash memory. Connect the USB flash memory to the USB connector on the unit. Copy the data file to the Desktop, then extract "PWS-100RX1_V8.0.zip".

From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Control Panel]. Click [System and Security], then click [Windows Update].

5 [3]WindowsSettings Update Windows Procedure 1 If not set, change settings. 5. Turn on the unit, and sign in to Windows 8. Hold down the [Windows logo] key and press the [X] key on the keyboard. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Control Panel]. Click [System and Security], then click [Windows Update]. Click [Let me choose my settings], select as follows, then click [OK]. Important updates: Never check for updates (not recommended) Recommended updates: Uncheck

2 Check for updates. Click [Check for Updates]. Need to wait for a while. Install important updates only. Click [Install updates]. Click [Restart now]. 3 Check again. Sign in to Windows 8.

8 [4]UpdatingRX1Applications Connection Control Manager and Receiver Windows Defender If Windows Defender is running, stop the service. Hold down the [Windows logo] key and press the [Q] key on the keyboard. Click [Windows Defender] icon. Click [Settings] tab, Click [Administrator] on the left, uncheck the small box [Turn on Windows Defender]. Click [Save changes]. Uninstallation of Application Software (V6) Before starting installation of V8.0 software, uninstall installed V6 software programs. If V7 software programs are installed, skip the following uninstallation procedure. 1 Open Programs and Features. Hold down the [Windows logo] key and press the [X] key on the keyboard. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Programs and Features]. 2 Uninstall the PWS Setting Patcher. Select [PWSSettingPatcher], click [Uninstall]. If a dialog is displayed, click [Yes]. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed, click [Yes] to start the installation. 3 Uninstall the Streaming Receiver. Select [Sony Streaming Receiver], click [Uninstall]. If a dialog is displayed, click [Yes]. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed, click [Yes] to start the installation. If a dialog is displayed, click [OK].

9 4 Uninstall the Connection Control Manager. Select [Sony Connection Control Manager], click [Uninstall]. If a dialog is displayed, click [Yes]. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed, click [Yes] to start the installation. If a dialog is displayed, click [OK]. Installing Application Software 1 Installing the PWS Setting Updater 5. Open the Install package folder "PWS_SettingUpdater_201806". Execute the PWS_SettingUpdater_ exe. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to start the installation. A command prompt opens. A dialog box is displayed. Click [OK] to finish. 2 Installing the Connection Control Manager. Open the Install package folder "RX1_App_8.0\CCM_V ". Execute the RX1 Connection Control Manager.msi. Need to wait for a while. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed, check that RX1 Connection Control Manager.msi is displayed and click [Yes] to start the installation. A command prompt opens and closes during the installation. Wait until the command prompt closes. 3 Installing the Streaming Receiver. Open the Install package folder "RX1_App_8.0\RX_V ". Execute the StreamingReceiverAppInstallHelper.exe. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed, check that "StreamingReceiverAppInstallHelper.exe is displayed and click [Yes] to start the installation.

10 A command prompt opens and closes during the installation. Wait until the command prompt closes. 4 Software version check after update. Hold down the [Windows logo] key and press the [X] key on the keyboard. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Programs and Features]. 11 [5]UpdatingRX1Applications Registering Receivers Register the unit in the system using the Initialization Tool. This operation is required for all units configured to receive streaming content. Configuring Connection Control Manager 1 Login to the CCM UI. Enter in the address field of the browser. Note If a warning screen for SSL authentication appears, execute the procedure in Appendix B. It takes about 3 minutes to start up the CCM application. Please wait for a while if loading screen is displayed. Enter the user name and password to log in. Note If you update from V6, the user name and password are reset to their default values. The factory default user name is Admin and the default password is Modify the user name and password. Click [Settings] tab in the global header. Select [CCM] tab, then select [System]. Modify the user name and password for logging in to the CCM UI. Note It is strongly recommended that you change the user name and password. Username(1)/Password(1), Username(2)/Password(2) and Username(3)/Password(3) Use the checkboxes to change the role for Username(2) and Username(3). Click [Save CCM Settings]. Click [Connection].

Note If you use the unit with XDCAM air, refer to the "XDCAM air Setup Guide". 3 Software version check. Click [Maintenance]. Check [CCM Software Version]. Version Click [Streaming] tab in the global header. Initialization Tool 1 Launch the Initialization Tool. Click the [Initialization Tool] icon on the Start screen. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to launch. The End User License Agreement appears the first time you launch the Initialization Tool. Check and accept the terms of the agreement in order to use the system. Click [Accept].

13 Click [Settings]. 2 Enter the address and port of the Connection Control Manager. Enter the IP address or hostname (FQDN) of the Connection Control Manager in [CCM URL]. Enter the TCP port number "9083" used to communicate with the Connection Control Manager in [CCM Port]. Click [Next].

14 3 Enter the username and password to register the receiver. Enter the username in [User Name]. Enter the password in [Password]. Click [Next]. 4 Set an image file for SDI outputs. Check the box if you want to set it later or to set SDI to black image or color bar. To use an image file, clear the check and specify the path to the file in [SDI Output Image File]. Click [Start].

15 5 The result is displayed, then click [Quit]. Configuring Receiver and SDI Output Settings 1 Return to web browser screen and check the settings. Select [Streaming] tab, then confirm that the receiver appears in the receiver area.

16 Click [Settings] tab in the global header. Click [RX] tab, then select the unit. Check [Software Version]. Version Configuring Receiver and SDI Output Settings. Enter the IP address or hostname (FQDN) for accessing the unit from the Internet in [External Host Name]. Enter the number of the first UDP port used for receiving streamingcontent from the Internet in [External Port Range]. Configure SDI Format, [Resolution] and [Frame Rate]. Click [Save RX Settings].

17 [A]Appendix Windows Defender Turn Off Hold down the [Windows logo] key and press the [Q] key on the keyboard. Click [Windows Defender]. Click [Settings] tab, Click [Administrator] on the left, uncheck the small box [Turn on this app]. Click [Save changes]. Turn On Hold down the [Windows logo] key and press the [X] key on the keyboard. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Control Panel]. Click [System and Security]. And then click [Action Center]. Click [Turn on now] for the Virus protection. If the update process starts, cancel it. If you do not have the Virus protection in Action Center, expand [Security], and click [Turn on messages about virus protection].

18 [B]Appendix Import Certificate Import Certificate If you performed this update as a clean installation, please follow the steps below. 1 Launch command prompt as administrator. Turn on the unit, and sign in to Windows 8. Close all web browser windows. Hold down the [Windows logo] key and press the [X] key on the keyboard. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Command Prompt (Admin)]. 2 Enter command. Type 'certutil -addstore ROOT C:\CCM-Server\ca.crt'. Regenerate certificate If you changed the host name of the unit, regenerate the certificate by the following procedure, then perform the procedure to import the certificate (C:\CCM-Server\ca.crt).

19 1 Remove the key file (C:\CCM-Server\nginx\conf\server.key). 2 Execute the program (C:\Program Files\Sony Corporation\CCM\MakeCertificate.exe). 3 Restart Windows 8. 4 Import certificate.

Note Uncheck the [CCM] checkbox when using with XDCAM air, and then skip steps 2 and 3 below. Enter the hostname (FQDN) or IP address to access from outside the router to the unit in [Host Name].

Click [Start]. 3 The result is displayed. Note Be sure to quit the Initialization Tool before starting the streaming. Click [Home]. Click [Quit].

22 [D]Appendix Diagnose the receiver system Check if the register of the MSQ (SDI) board can be accessed and the receiver process is running. Procedure 1 Launch the Initialization Tool. Launch the Initialization Tool. Click [Diagnosis]. 2 The result is displayed. Click [Quit].

23 [E]Appendix Initializing receiver application settings Procedure 1 Launch the Initialization Tool. Launch the Initialization Tool. Click [Reset]. 2 The confirmation dialog appears. Click [Yes].

25 [F]Appendix Set up the license Procedure 1 Register your devices. Connect your camcorders to the Connection Control Manager once. Confirm that devices are listed in the device list ([Settings] > [TX] tab). Note After your camcorders are listed, you can take those camcorders offline when doing the following procedure. 2 Check the "Unique Device ID" of the device on which to use the license. Open [Settings] > [CCM] > [License] tab. Confirm that the model name and serial number of the device is listed. Check the "Unique Device ID" of the device. 3 Access the "Upgrade and License Management Suite" in a web browser. [URL] Enter the purchase code obtained when purchasing the license. Register the "Unique Device ID". Save the installation key file to any folder. 4 Import the installation key file. Go back to the Connection Control Manager, then open [Settings] > [CCM] > [License] tab. Click the [Add Licenses] button. Click [+] button. Select the installation key file.

26 Click [Import] button. Confirm that "Imported" is displayed in the status and click the [Close] button. Confirm that "Activated" is displayed in the status of the device on the [License] screen.
