4 1. Introduction As with most customers, Sean has been told to change the banner and logo. To do this, he first creates a sandbox, a tool that helps him make and test changes without impacting other users. He enters the page in source mode and selects the logo and changes it. He selects the banner and changes the text. He sees the changes, but is not ready to commit them yet as he has additional customizations to perform. He clicks on My Profile and enters into customization mode. He makes the last name field read-only since the correct place to change the last name is in HR. He changes the Display Name label to Preferred Name as this attribute contains the name that users would like to be known by. Sean s organization operates in a single time zone, so he hides the Time Zone attributes to prevent user errors. Sean is done with his customizations, so now he goes ahead and publishes the sandbox, committing the changes. [Note: We need to only have OIM server running for this lab. We should bring down Admin Server and SOA server to execute this lab faster.] 4 P a g e

5 2. Branding and Dashboard customization 1. Navigate to Identity Self Service console in a new browser window. 2. Login as ADMIN. 3. Click on the Sandboxes link. 4. In the Manage Sandboxes tab, click on Create Sandbox. 5. Give it a name - UICustomization. 6. Click on Save and Close. 7. Click OK. 8. Click on the Customize link at the top of the screen. 9. On the top left corner, click on View Source in the newly appeared menu bar. 10. Click on the Oracle logo. 11. Click on the Edit button in the top menu. 5 P a g e

6 12. Navigate to the Style tab. 13. Click in the Background Image dialog box. 14. Enter the following to get the new logo. url( 15. Click Apply. Tip: if you are using a local browser (not of the VM) then you might want to use the IP Address of the VM in the URL. 16. Give the following parameters for Height and Width fields to resize the image. a. Height: 50px b. Width: 100px 6 P a g e

7 17. Click Apply. 18. Click OK. The image is a little shrunk; isn t it? 19. Now click on the panelsplitter:vertical object in the edit menu. 20. Click on Edit in the menu. 21. For the Splitter Position attribute click on the icon to change the value. 22. Choose Expression builder as the option. 7 P a g e

8 23. In the Type a value or expression field, replace the current number/expression with Click OK. 25. Click Apply. 26. Click OK. The image is resized properly now. Do you see that? 27. To change the branding text, remain in the customization mode. 28. Click Identity Self Service text banner. 8 P a g e

9 29. Click on Edit in the menu. 30. In the dialog box, for the Value attribute, click on the icon to change the value. 31. Choose Expression Builder as the option. 32. Choose Type a value or expression radio button. 33. Erase the current expression and provide a value, My Access. 34. Click OK. 35. Click Apply. 36. Click OK. 37. Click Close at the top of the page in right corner. 38. Click on My Information under the My Profile menu. By this we can see the Basic User Information section for the current user. Let s customize this frame. 39. Click on Customize link at the top of the page. 40. In the top left corner, in the VIEW menu, choose Source. 41. Once the page is ready to be edited, click on Last Name field in the Basic User Information frame. 42. Click Edit on the warning dialog box. You should notice that the code snippet with respect to this frame is selected in the top of the screen. 9 P a g e

10 43. In the Code Snippets section at the top click on Edit. 44. In the popup, under the Display Options tab, just below the Partial Triggers input you may find the Read Only checkbox. 45. Check/Select it. 46. Click Apply. 47. Click OK. 48. In the same frame, double click on the Display Name field. 49. In the Code Snippets section at the top click on Edit. 50. In the popup, under the Display Options tab, for the attribute Label, click on the down arrow icon. 51. Choose Expression Builder. 10 P a g e

11 52. Remove the current text and replace it with Preferred Name. 53. Click Test. 54. Click OK. 55. Click Apply. 56. Click OK. 57. Click on the text which reads Basic User Information. Now let s make Basic User Information (title of this frame) read as My Profile. 58. In the top window click on Edit. 11 P a g e

12 59. In the popup, under the Display Options tab, for the Text field click on the down arrow button. 60. Choose Expression Builder. 61. Replace the current text with My Profile. 62. Click Test. 63. Click OK. 64. Click Apply. 65. Click OK. 66. In the same frame we have two buttons - Apply & Cancel. 67. Let s click on the Apply button. The code snippet for the respective button gets selected in the Code Snippets window. 68. Click on Edit. 69. In the popup, under the Display Options tab, for the Text field click on the down arrow button. 70. Choose Expression Builder. 71. Replace the current text with Save. 72. Click Test. 73. Click OK. 74. Click Apply. 75. Click OK. 76. On the top of the page, in the right corner, click Close to stop editing. 77. Click on the Sandboxes link at the top. 78. Choose the sandbox you created before by selecting the row. 79. In the menu above click on Publish Sandbox. 80. Accept all the warnings/messages. Now we have made our changes global. 81. Sign Out. 82. Login in as RSEID. 83. Navigate to the My Profile My Information page. You should be able to notice all these changes. 12 P a g e
