Select live to connect CAMERA to Software Adjusting the value in Frame Rate box to increase or decrease the brightness of the screen. 5. Turn on the lighter for observing objects clearly 6. Rotate the adjusted Camera s lens to zoom in or zoom out the screen to show the object on CP 7. Adjust the Frame Rate AOI Width click on to increase or decrease the value of the width to change the size of image on the screen.

2 AOI Left click on to adjust the position of the image on the screen 8. Capture Video Click Capture on the main menu select Sequence Capture Video to Frame Buffer (The text box of the Frame Buffer appears) Step 8 Step 9 Step 10 By clicking unselect Start/End All Buffer, we can change the value of the Ending Frame (For example: the value of Frame Rate on the step 4 is 500 per second, \then type the value of 1000 in the Ending Frame that means the recorded time is 2 seconds) 9. Click Record. The recording process is automatically stopped until reaching the input value of Ending Frame. 10. After finishing the recording process, we can click on Play to review the recorded videos 11. Save Video Main Menu File Save Image Sequence, we will see the text box Image Save Sequence, select One AVI 1.0 w. Sequence and select 8 Bits per Pixie click Brown and type the name of video the click OK.

3 II/ Particle Tracking After finishing the video capture process, you can use TRACKER software for particle tracking as follows. 1. Make sure TRACKER software is installed. 2. Open the TRACKER icon which as shown below Open a video Click on Open file button or File Open File and then come to the link where you save the video and select the video (mov, avi, mp4, flv, wmv, etc.) 4. Identify the Frame you wish to analyze Click on Clip Setting button, then set the value of Start frame, Step frame and End frame as shown on the figure, OK. 5. Calibrate the scale Click on the Calibration button New select Calibration stick

4 The blue calibration stick A appears on the Tracker screen as shown on figure. Drag the ends of the calibration stick to a video feature with known length. Then click the readout to select it and enter the known length (without units). 6. Set the reference frame origin and angle Click on Axis button to show or hide the coordinate. Drag the origin and/or x-axis to set the reference frame origin and angle. A common choice for the origin is the initial position of an object of interest. The scale and reference frame origin and angle uniquely define the coordinate system used to convert pixel image positions to scaled world coordinates. In some videos the coordinate system properties may vary from one frame to the next. 7. Track objects of interest with the mouse or model them with particle models. Click the Create button and choose Point Mass track. When tracking an object, mark its position on every frame by holding down the shift key and clicking the mouse as the video automatically steps through the video clip. Don't skip frames--if you do, velocities and accelerations cannot be determined. Each time you click on the track, the number of frame appears as the red point in the left figure as well as prints out the value of motion (for example the time t in x-axis an the moving distance of object in y direction) shown in the figure on right side.

5 8 8. Plot and analyze the tracks The Plot View displays graphs of track data. Click the x- or y-axis label to change the variable plotted on that axis. To plot multiple graphs, click the Plots button and select the desired number. Right-click on a plot to access display and analysis options in a popup menu. Click on x (above figure) or Click on t of the plot figure in step 7 to change y- axis and x-axis parameter, respectively. You will see the following figure x-axis y-axis Define setting Two of the most powerful analysis options available from the popup menu are Define and Analyze, by right click of the mouse the text box appears with the Define and Analyze. - The Define item displays a Data Builder with which you can define custom variables for plots and datatables. Custom variables can be virtually any function of built-in and previously defined custom variables. For help using Data Builder, open Data Builder and click its Help button.

6 - The Analyze item displays a Data Tool with statistics, curve-fitting and other analysis capabilities. For help using Data Tool, open Data Tool and click its Help button. 9. Save your work in a tracker (.trk) file Click the Save button or File Save As menu item to save your work in an XMLbased tracker file with the extension ".trk". When a saved tracker file is opened, Tracker loads the video, sets the clip and coordinate system properties, and rebuilds all tracks, custom variables and views. 10. Export track data to a spreadsheet Tracker's Datatable View displays track data in a table. To change the variables included in the table, click the Data button and select from the list displayed. Data can be easily exported from the datatable by copying to the clipboard and pasting into a spreadsheet or other application. To copy, select the desired data in the table, then rightclick and choose Copy Data from the popup menu.

Print, save or copy/paste images for reports You can print or copy an image of the entire Tracker frame or any individual view (e.g., a plot or datatable). - To print the entire frame (all visible views), choose the File Print menu item. - To print an individual view, right-click the view and choose Print from the popup menu. - To copy an image, choose the desired view from the Edit Copy Image menu or right-click a view and choose Copy Image. Pasting printed or copied images into notes and reports is an excellent way to document your video analysis results. - To save an image, right-click on the view of interest and choose the Snapshot menu item. Then choose the File Save Image menu item in the snapshot window.
