1 IBM Rational Quality Manager 4.0 eggplant Adapter Installation Guide Two components are required to run the eggplant Adaptor for IBM Rational Quality Manager The eggplant Plug-In must be installed on the IBM Jazz Team Server server The eggplant Manager Adapter must be installed on each machine that will execute eggplant scripts. Installation of the eggplant Plug-In on the Jazz Team Server 1. Unzip the TestPlant_IBM_RQM_Plugin.zip file in a location on the Jazz Team Server where the Jazz server can access it's resources (i.e. on the root of the local file system). Note: Do not install the "TestPlant" directory within the Jazz Team Server directory tree! 2. Modify the first line of the "com.testplant.eggplant.adapter.web.ini" file to reference the full path from the root of the filling system where you installed the TestPlant directory, i.e.: url=file:c:/testplant/ibm/rqm/update/com.testplant.eggplant.adapter.site (make sure to use forward slashes instead of back slashes) 3. Now, move the "com.testplant.eggplant.adapter.web.ini" file into the Jazz Team Server "qm/provision_profies" location at: <jazz team server install location>\server\conf\qm\provision_profiles 4. After installing the eggplant Jazz Team Server resources, navigate to this URL within your Jazz Team Server's web interface: server host name>:<port number>/qm/admin? internal=true#action=com.ibm.team.repository.admin.serverreset 5. Then click on the "Request Server Reset" button. You will get a message saying: "The Jazz Server has been flagged to reset and reload from the configured

2 update-site when it is next restarted" 6. Now, Stop your Jazz Team Server and Start your Jazz Team Server and the new eggplant adapter features will be available. 7. After the server restarts, you should be able to select "TestPlant-Eggplant" as a script type when creating new Test Scripts. Installation of the eggplant Manager Adaptor on execution machines 1. Run the eggplant Manager Installer on your eggplant execution Machine 2. Before running the Adaptor you must place the License file (EM.lic) at C:\TestPlant\EggplantManager\ 3. Start the eggplant Manager Agent by double clicking on C:\TestPlant\start_agent.bat 4. Go to the Adaptor Configuration page on the local machine ( 3100/rqm_config) The default login for the adaptor itself is admin / admin Once you login you will see the adaptor configuration page

3 5. Configure the Adaptor Settings Jazz Team Server Set the access URI and PORT for the Jazz Team Server here. If you ever change the URI of your Jazz team server it will need to be reentered here. Adaptor User Account Enter the user ID for the Rational Quality Manager that the adaptor will use. Make sure this user has a Rational Quality Manager - Connector (or higher) License Adaptor Settings Be sure to specify the Project Area that you will be testing. We recommend leaving the default Poll Interval at 5 seconds. Enter a Unique Adaptor Name for each execution machine. Proxy Information

4 Specify Proxy Settings as Required Admin Settings You can change the password to access this Admin page here You can also set the logging level higher or lower to troubleshoot configuration issues. 6. Now that the Adaptor has been configured, launch the RQM Adaptor by double clicking C:\TestPlant\start_rqm_adapter.bat 7. At this point your adaptor is running and ready to execute Test Scripts from Rational Quality Manager, you can verify your adaptors by going to the Adapter Console page within your Project Area Configuring a Test Script 1. To use the eggplant Adaptor choose the "TestPlant-Eggplant" Type when creating a Test Script 2. Then Select an Adaptor and specify the local path to the execution script as it can be found on the Execution Machine 3. After you Run a Test Case your test script will be marked as Passed or Failed based on the result of the eggplant script and you can review the detailed LogFile returned by the eggplant Script.
