12 10 Samba Batteries Samba audio processor: zinc-air battery Depending on the selected program, environment and duration of use, the battery lasts approximately 3 days. The battery should be replaced regularly or when the sound level drops off dramatically. If the battery is low, it must be replaced when you hear a series of beeps. Remote control: 2 AAA batteries A low battery status of the remote control is indicated in the status bar.
13 Samba Basic care of Samba audio processor 11 Follow these basic yet important care instructions to help improve the functioning of your Samba audio processor. Cleaning VIBRANT MED-EL recommends to clean Samba weekly for hygienic reasons. Only clean the outside of the device. Do not clean Samba in or under water. Use a damp cloth to gently clean your audio processor. If necessary, use non-abrasive household soap together with a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Storage When not in use, Samba should be kept in the Samba case provided. You can remove the battery from Samba for storage or simply open the battery door to extend battery life. Contact with water Prevent water from running into the Samba via the microphone openings or the battery compartment.
14 12 Samba Drying If you live in a humid climate or perspire heavily, the audio processor should be placed in a drying container instead of in the Samba case when it is not worn. Sunlight Please store the Samba in a dry place and protect it from direct sunlight. Refer to your instructions for use for more information about cleaning, storage, handling and disposal of the Samba audio processor and for maintenance instructions on the remote control.
15 Samba Troubleshooting 13 In case you encounter any minor technical problems, carefully follow these steps to identify possible causes and solutions: Check the polarity of the battery. The flat side (+) must be on top. Check if the battery is empty and needs to be replaced. Check the audio processor for dirt or signs of damage. Gently clean any processor parts that are dirty and wipe dry after cleaning. If any parts appear damaged, contact your VIBRANT MED-EL representative. Read detailed information on troubleshooting in your Samba instructions for use. Contact your audiologist and/or your VIBRANT MED-EL representative.
