4 Getting Started Congratulations on purchasing Winmate 7 S-Series HMI. Interactive and smart automation systems of intelligent buildings are in a fast growing phase. Winmate multi-touch S-Series HMI is suitable for home automation and room management systems. Flat surface is easy-to-clean and delivers aesthetically pleasing look for any interior. By connecting to centralized database, it can provide real time update for booking status and available schedule, or perform as a synchronous display in meetings. Winmate 7 S-Series HMI powered by Freescale Cortex A9 i.mx6 Dual Core 1GHz (can be upgraded to Quad Core) processor and support Android 4.4 and Linux Kernel operating systems. The HMI device features P-Cap touchscreen. operating systems. The HMI device features P-Cap touch-screen. In addition, the HMI device model supports an exceptional feature - LED Light Bar. With the help of red, green, blue and orange LED indicators you can see the status of the machine or processes afar. It significantly reduces power consumption by keeping the display turned off. 9 Connector Description This section explains how to connect external interfaces to the HMI device. DC Input Connector DC power source input is a 12V DC-in jack connector. 10 USB A Type Connector Use USB A Type (USB2.0) connector to connect your HMI device to other USB2.0 compatible devices. 11 Turning On or Off Turning ON Follow the following steps to turn on your device: 1. Connect the AC adapter to the DC-in jack connector on the back side of the HMI device. 2. Connect the power cord to AC adapter. 3. Plug the power cord to the AC outlet and the device will turn on automatically. Turning OFF CAUTION Use only the AC adapter included in your package (Rating: Output 4.2 A). Using other AC adapters may damage the device. ALTERNATING CURRENT This product must be grounded. Use only a grounded AC outlet. Install the additional PE ground wire if the local installation regulations require it. To TURN OFF the HMI device disconnect the power cord from the source of power and the device will automatically shut down. 12 Configuring Serial Port Settings Serial COM Port can be configured for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. Winmate provide COM port settings application for Android OS. Step 1 Settings > Accessibility Step 2 Accessibility > Comport-Setting 11

13 Step 3 GO to Comport-Setting > Comport 1/ Comport 2/ Comport 3 * Select Comport 1/ Comport 2/ Comport 3 that you want to configure. 14 Brightness Adjustment Use can adjust the screen brightness in Android settings. Pull down from the top of the screen to get the notifications area. You can also access display settings in the settings menu. Go to Settings > Display > Brightness Tap the cursor to the left to reduce the screen brightness. Tap the cursor to the right to increase the screen brightness. 13

15 Operating the HMI Device Winmate 7 S-Series HMI runs on Android 4.4 operating system. Setting up the Device When you first turn on your HMI device, you will see a Welcome screen. Choose the language you want and touch Start or the Start icon. When prompted, you can sign in with your Google Account to create one at that time. You can also choose to skip this step and create one later. Home Screen Back Opens the previous screen you were working in. Once you back up to the Home screen, you can t go back any further. Home Opens the central Home screen. To open Google Now, swipe up. Recent Apps Opens a list of thumbnail images of apps you ve worked with recently. To open an app, touch it. 16 Quick Settings To open Settings, Swipe down from the top right of the screen and touch the Settings icon. You can open your device s Settings app from the All Apps screen or from Quick Settings. For example, to change notification sounds, and volume go to Settings > Device > Sound to change the volume. Ethernet AP Step 1 Connect Ethernet Cable to the HMI device. 17 Setting Check Ethernet Configure Ethernet Advanced Settings Configuring Ethernet Description Check Ethernet connection parameters: IP mode, IP address, DNS address and others Enable Ethernet connection and configure its such as connection type Configure advanced parameters of the Ethernet To configure Ethernet settings go to Apps > Ethernet > Configure Ethernet *Default settings: Ethernet OFF. 18 Setting Description DHCP The device automatically capture IP-address from the router Static Allows to manually set up IP-address, DNS, Network and IP Gateway Checking Ethernet To check the Ethernet settings go to APPS > Ethernet > Check Ethernet Ethernet settings menu appears on the top right side of the desktop. Testing LED Light Bar To test LED Light Bar go to APPS > Light BarDemo (This application is for demonstration purposes only). Adjust the intensity of Red, Green and Blue light. 17

19 Winmate Home Manager (WHM) Winmate S-Series HMI running on Android OS comes with preinstalled APP named Winmate Home Manager (WHM) which let the device manager to lock the launcher then the user can only use one application assigned by the device manager. How to Lock Application Step 1 In the main APPS window, select the Home Manager APP and tap it to open. Home Manager is setting which app you want to run up automatically after booting. 20 Password Manager is settings WHM password (Default is 0000 ). Step 2 Go to Application Selector, and choose the app which you want to run up automatically after booting. Step 3 Go back to Home Selector and press Clear and Reset Default Home. 19

21 Step 4 Select Restrict Home and Always, and then restart the computer to enable these settings. The system will automatically start the application which you selected and lock it. Any time user press home key or back key, the system will go back to the same application which you have selected. Step 5 Restart the system to activate changes. 22 How to Unlock Application Follow the instruction below to reset WHM and unlock applications. Step 1 If you want to reset the home manager, pull down the left side to open the status bar and open HomeManager service. Step 2 System will request the password to login. Default password is

23 Step 3 Restart the system and you will go back to the normal Launcher. How to Change Password Step 1 Go to Password Manager and set your own password for this APP. Step 2 The default password is Enter a new password in New Password field, and then tap Change Password. 24 Using Front Camera Your device has a built in camera. Camera Menu To open the camera, open All APPS, and then tap on camera icon. Icon Description Action Tap to open location settings. Location setting Make a picture Camera settings Tap to immediately capture photos. Tap to open camera settings. Shooting Photos To shoot a photo: 1 Open the Camera. 2 Focus on the object. 3 Tap to capture the object. 4 By default, the photo preview is displayed briefly on the screen. The preview screen automatically closes after 3 seconds. Alternatively, do one of the following: 23

Go back Tap to close the preview and return to the camera screen Location Settings Tap location settings icon to open location settings.
