2 Introduction: Safety comes first when you re on the road, so having an intuitive and easy to use Bluetooth kit is essential to reducing driver distraction. The MBCD-HF kit is compatible with virtually all Bluetooth phones, and sounds great whether for mobile conversations, streaming music or listening to the CD Changer. In addition, a USB Charging port is included to keep audio devices fully charged. One button with built-in microphone conveniently installed on the dash is used to launch Voice Recognition (Siri, Google Now, Assistant etc.), initiate phone calls, launch applications and switching on the CD Changer. Thanks to the MBCD-HF Kit you can keep the radio, CD Changer and vehicle you love while enjoying Bluetooth features only available on newer cars. Notes: 1. A working CD Changer must be present otherwise this kit will not apply. 2. 2, vehicles are not compatible. Fig. 2 Mercedes Radio 2. Disconnect the 10-pin CD Changer plug (See Fig. 4) from Radio connector (C) (See Fig. 3 ) Installation: Radio must be removed from dash to gain access to connectors. Removal tools (See Fig. 1) required and must be purchased separately. 1. Slide both tools into Radio slots to detent position, (Straight edge facing out) and withdraw by pulling outwards. 3 3. Connect factory 10-pin Changer plug from step 2 to 10-pin (black) connector on installation harness (See Fig. 5). 5. Disconnect solid plug from A/B slots on radio (power/speaker) (See Fig. 8) Fig pin connector/plug 4. Connect brown 8-pin plug from power harness to slot (B) on radio and black 8-pin plug to slot (A) on radio (See Fig. 3). 8. Connect thin gold plated 3.5mm plug from installation harness (See Fig. 7) to CD input jack on Bluetooth Module (See Fig. 10) Fig. 7 installation harness

Consider where to install control/microphone button. Keep in mind the control button must be within reach and facing driver for voice commands and phone dialog (cable is 6ft. long). We recommend completing the rest of the install prior to securing control/mic button. Once you decide on a location simply remove tape backing from control /mic button and stick to surface. 5 Bluetooth Module also includes a USB Charging port. Should you decide to use it, we suggest one of 3 connecting options: A. Flush to dash/panel requires drilling a ¾ hole in the dash B. Flush with Support bracket (use this option to mount USB terminal wherever your installation demands without drilling) C. No USB Mount- (default) 3. Push USB head (See Fig. 15) until it snaps in place and flush with mounting surface (See Fig. 16) A. Flush to Dash or Panel (req. drilling) 1. USB cable (See Fig. 14) through ¾ hole created in step 1 Fig. 16 Flush mounted to dash 4. Connect USB male terminal (See Fig. 14) to USB port on Module (See Fig. 17) Fig ft. USB cable Fig. 17 Module USB Port 5. Tuck and secure any extra wire from moving parts and proceed to test operation (Proceed to Bluetooth Pairing and connection)

6 B. USB Bracket Mount (No drilling) 1. Locate a flat surface at location of choice within 3.2 ft. of radio to mount USB bracket (See Fig. 18) to surface using adhesive/tape or screws (included) Fig. 18 USB mounting bracket 2. Insert USB male terminal through hole in bracket (See Fig. 19) 5. Tuck and secure any extra wire away from moving parts and test operation (Proceed to Bluetooth Pairing and connection) C. No Mount USB port on module is for charging only. Use your own USB extension cable option or proceed to next step if charging is not required. The radio cavity in most vehicles lack extra room needed to fit aftermarket equipment and because of that you will have to be creative when fitting these parts. Extra length cables are provided to allow for flexibility. Bluetooth Pairing and Connection This process is required the first time you use the MBCD-HF. After initial pairing, the MBCD-HF will automatically reconnect with paired phone upon entering vehicle. Fig Push USB head until it snaps in place and flush (See Fig. 20) 1. Turn vehicle ignition ON. 2. Red LED inside module will begin to flash 3. Access Smartphone Bluetooth menu settings, and search (scan) for devices. 4. Select the G2 and click Connect Fig Connect USB Male terminal to USB Port on Bluetooth Module (See Fi. 17) Note: Supports multiple phones but connects to only one phone at a time.

7 Warning! Mercedes Radios do not support Caller ID and text display. Operating Bluetooth device is possible from the control button and/or Voice Recognition application. Use radio volume button to control playback level. Bluetooth Operation 1. Set radio to CD mode (Bluetooth mode) 2. Begin streaming session or place phone call 3. Use radio volume control button to set playback level Music Commands To Pause a Song Resume Play Skip to next song Skip to Previous Song Activate CD Changer Playback* Activate Voice Control Switch out of CD Changer Mode Proceed this way Press button twice Press button 3 times Press button 4 times Press/hold button for 2 seconds Notes: 1. If playback is distorted, adjust volume on Bluetooth device. 2. To reset Module press and Hold button for 5 seconds (this will not un-pair phone or erase stored phones) 3. On incoming calls, ring tone plays through car speakers 4. Bluetooth range is approximately 30 ft. make sure device is within range of receiver 5. Voice command compatible with Apple (Siri), Android (Google Now), Blackberry (Assistant) 6. * Control button does not manage CD Changer functions. Once in CD Changer mode, use radio buttons as customary. 7. While streaming and upon ending phone call, streaming automatically resumes, however while in Changer mode and upon ending call, the control button must be pressed 4 times to return to CD Changer playback If successful go ahead and Reinstall the Radio Congratulations, you ve just updated your vehicle to support new technology while preserving the original radio and dash components. 8 Frequent asked questions 1. My vehicle has the required CD Changer. Do I have to disconnect it for this kit to work? NO; The required CD Changer remain connected and functional. This kit will not without CD Changer (see our MB-HF) 2. Does the MBCD-HF work on all Mercedes Radios? NO; This Bluetooth receiver kit works in Mercedes with Becker BE1492, BE1692, BE2210, BE1350 or Alpine CM2296, CM2396 Radios, (Becker BE4602, BE7820 or with digital CD Changers and are not compatible) 3. Can I control Smartphone music from radio buttons? NO; you must continue to use audio device built-in controls or control button and/or voice commands to operate audio device. Use the radio volume control button to set playback level. 4. How to I reset the Module? Press/hold control button for 5 seconds then release. 5. How can I listen to my CD Changer? First, press CD button on radio to enter Changer mode, then press control button 4 times. Control CD Changer from radio as customary. 6. Where is the best place to install the control button/mic? We found that having the control button/mic mounted higher on the dash worked best, but user is left to experiment and find best location. 7. Will the stereo mute when I receive or make a phone call? This system will mute only if radio is in Bluetooth mode (CD). If in any other mode (e.g. AM/FM), the radio will not mute. In addition, you must switch the radio to CD (Bluetooth Mode) to connect with caller. 8. Why is a second phone not able to pair with Bluetooth receiver.? In order to pair a second phone make sure no other phone is connected. Once the device is free, it will be ready to pair.
