2 Introduction: Portable audio products are everywhere, reflecting demand from active people all over the world to take their music on the road. The A2D-JAG98 provides a Bluetooth Audio Streaming option for any A2DP enabled Smartphone or Tablet and allows the user to stream music apps including turn by turn directions directly into the audio system via the CD Changer port. This adapter requires the factory CD Changer. The updated version has option to retain CD Changer playback, an auxiliary input option or none in which case the A2D-JAG98 replaces CD Changer playback. Not for hands-free calls. See Frequently Asked question at the end of this guide for more details. Installation: (To trunk) Alert! The A2D-JAG98 requires vehicle be equipped with a CD Changer. The CD Changer remains connected with option to retain playback or forfeit playback in favor or an aux input. All connections are made to Changer cable in trunk (Will not work if connected directly to Radio) Fig Remove cable from holding tab and separate (disconnect) by gasping both ends and gently pulling apart (do not twist) 4. CD Changer connector is female (right) and end leaving to Amplifier is Male (See Fig. 2) 2 1. Remove carpet trim piece surrounding audio rack and remove (4) 8mm nuts securing rack to the vehicle. Lean rack forward to reveal wiring and connections on the back 2. Locate the thick black cable that connects the CD Auto Changer to the Amplifier. As of 5/10/18: Accessory supply wire is now built-into module, however if you have an older version with external 12V accessory wire; you must connect it to a high current 12V accessory source (e.g. antenna turn on wire etc.) 7. Secure adapter box and proceed to next section 8. Auxiliary option: If Auxiliary option was selected (instead of CD Changer playback), a 5meter male-male audio cable (See Fig. 4) 4 will be included one end connects to aux jack on adapter (See Fig. 5), 5 the other end is routed into cabin or wherever aux device reside (within 5 meters) Pairing: Pairing process varies among devices but the basic steps are the same. This process is done upon initial install and will not have to be repeated. 1. Turn Ignition and Radio ON LED inside module peephole will flash rapidly (pairing mode) 2. On A2DP device: Go to Settings, Wireless & Networks, Bluetooth Settings 3. Select Bluetooth and turn on. 4. Select Bluetooth settings 5. Tap Scan (Search) for devices. 6. Wait for Bluetooth device name to appear and select it Retaining Changer Playback (BT-AUDIO), Not retaining Changer Playback (SKY International). Red inside module peephole will glow steady (paired) Fig. 4 Fig. 5 Notes: This revised version has the following options: 1. Bluetooth Music Stream NO Changer playback (default) 2. Bluetooth Music Stream + CD Changer playback OR 3. Bluetooth Music Stream + AUX input (No Changer playback) Only one of these options can be selected Music Stream + CD Changer playback or music Stream + Aux input (not both ) No matter the option, vehicle must have w working CD Changer which remains connected.

4 Optional Remote Control: Wireless remote is not required for adapter to work; however instead of fumbling audio device to change tracks etc., you simply press the familiar remote control buttons while also keeping your eyes on the road. Remote Control Operation: Use wireless remote to perform the following functions on any ios7.0 and higher or Android 4.4 and higher. Optional remote control allows users to: 1. Control music wirelessly 2. Activate VR commands (Siri, Google play etc.) 3. Track up/down 4. Volume up/down Pairing Bluetooth remote: Contents:

5 Test Operation 1. Turn ignition to accessory position and radio ON. 2. Press CD CD button on radio. Auxiliary input (Optional) The adapter in addition to music stream can also support an aux input device. 1. To listen to aux device: a. Press CD CD button on radio b. Disable Bluetooth on A2DP device. Aux device playback begins. (Control aux device from built-in controls use radio volume button to set playback level) 2. To return to audio streaming: Enable Bluetooth and A2DP device will pair with module. Fig Launch device streaming application. 4. Use radio volume control button to set the playback level. If distorted, lower the volume on phone or if inaudible, raise volume on phone or tablet. Warning! Playlist and Track selection is *NOT* possible from the Radio. Use the smartphone built-in controls to access and control the audio files. Retain CD playback function (Optional) 1. To listen to CD: a. Press CD CD button on radio b. Disable Bluetooth on A2DP device. CD playback resumes. (Control CD Changer from radio as customary) 2. To return to audio streaming: Enable Bluetooth and 2DP device will pair with module. Note: Music Stream has priority and remains that way until Bluetooth is disabled on A2DP device. CD Changer OR AUX playback is possible only when Bluetooth has been disabled on A2DP device or device is out of range. 5. If correct operation is confirmed go ahead and reinstall the Radio. Only one of these options can be selected Music Stream + CD Changer playback or Music Stream + Aux input (not both) No matter the option, vehicle must have w working CD Changer which remains connected.

6 Frequent asked questions 1. Does the A2D-JAG JAG98 work in Premium Systems S ystems? YES; the A2D-JAG98 works in both Standard and Premium systems in x308 & x How do I know if vehicle has a Premium Sound System? Up Premium Sound System will have an amplifier mounted atop the audio rack in trunk: To check simply remove driver side carpet panels to reveal audio rack. (See picture below). 5. In which model/year Jaguars will the A2D-JA JA98 work and where does it connect? The A2D-JAG98 is specific to the following Jaguar vehicles: 1997* 7*-03 (x308) with Premium System (To( Trunk) 1997* 7*-03 (x308) with Standard Sound System (To Trunk) 1997*-06 (x100) with Premium Sound System (To( Trunk) 1997* 7*-06 (x100) with Standard S Sound System (To Trunk) 6. Will I be able to make take phone calls using this adapter? No. The A2D-JAG98 supports audio Streaming. Not for hands-free calling. *1997 VIN# and above - If a Subwoofer is mounted to the rear deck (Sedan) or rear side panels (convertible), vehicle has amplifier. 3. I understand CD Changer C playback is lost (default option),, but I have tons of CD s I would like to play in my car. Is this possible? YES; the new A2D-JAG98 has the option to retain CD Changer functionality. Simply select Streaming music + Changer playback option from drop-down menu. 4. Can I install the A2D-JAG JAG98 to the radio?
