7 Streak Set-up 1. BASIC SETUP Pre-existing accounts with key services: Effective demos require actual accounts with several 3rd party internet services: Google Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon MP3, SugarSync login All Settings: The correct time and date must be set before doing anything Disable Automatic ; set date, select time zone, set time Lengthen the delay before the screen automatically turns off If you re using 3rd party apps such as QuickOffice, Sugarsync etc disable the compatibility mode Disable the auto-orientation for better demos Tap Wi-Fi to turn on Tap Wi-Fi settings then wait for local networks to populate in the list view Tap the local Wi-Fi network and enter wireless password. NOTE: if network SSID is not published, tap add Wi-Fi network, enter SSID (net name) and tap saveto re-enable Wi-Fi: /All settings/wireless Controls/Wi-Fi Settings/tap <networkname> Tap Network Operators device will display searching for up to a minute. Select a mobile operator Tap "Wi-Fi settings then wait for local network to populate in the list view. Tap the local Wi-Fi network and enter wireless password. Remove battery door & insert usd with music, photos, MSFT office docs Screen calibration: Remove, then reinsert the battery to completely power off the device; do not connect USB Hold both Camera + Power buttons until you see the white app list screen (after the Dell screen) Press the Volume Down button to highlight Touch Panel, then press the Camera button to select it Without touching the screen, press the Volume Up button to automatically calibrate your device Press Volume Up button again after the unit has been calibrated You should see a series of square red dots appearing where you touch the screen now Press the Camera button to exit the Touch Panel application and return to the app list Press the Volume Up button to highlight the EXIT item, then press the Camera button to exit Reboot the device by removing then reinserting the battery and pressing the Power button

8 Streak Set-up PC Setup: Streaming music and photos will only work AFTER you have installed CyberLink Live on your PC Remote access and file sync will only work AFTER you have installed and configured SugarSync on your PC/Mac/Linux systems Navigate to to automatically install this application on your device General tips Powering on: Press+hold the Power button (middle button on top) for three seconds to turn on Powering off: Press+hold the Power button to: change silent mode, set airplane mode, or power off Touch lightly (with dry fingers) when swiping or trying to target a screen location Dismissing overlays (dialogs): simply press the "back" physical button on the right device edge Overlay keyboard: recall or dismiss the overlay keyboard with 3sec press+hold on the "Menu" button Careful: the screen can recognize a "touch" even before you think you've set your finger down Options for Application / Widgets: tap-hold on the app or widget, then press the "Menu" button 2. 9 Streak Set-up 3. APPLICATION SETUP (Gmail account and password required) Press Next, then tap on " address" field to enter your GMAIL address and password Tap on "password" field and enter your password Tap the "keyboard" icon in the lower right to minimize the soft-touch keyboard, then tap "Next" Address book Confirm date is set, connect to WiFi, add the Facebook widget to Home, then sign in Return to Home, and wait until you see status from friends appear in the Facebook widget REBOOT THE DEVICE (press and hold Power button, then select "Shut Down". At least TWO minutes after the reboot, the Address Book will begin synchronizing contacts from Facebook. NOTE: Address Book will be quite slow/unresponsive while this completes Depending on how many Friends you have in Facebook, you may need to wait anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour for this sync to complete; you CAN open/use the Address Book during the sync. Facebook (Facebook account required) Tap "Sign in" button on Facebook widget, enter userld and password, then tap "Login" Press "Home" or "back" physical button to return to Home Meebo IM (minimum of one required: AIM, Facebook, GoogleTalk, MSN, MySpace, Yahoo, etc) Accept the Terms of Service, then tap "Add" button and select your IM network accounts Browser (requires Wi-Fi connectivity) navigate to the following sites and bookmark them: rename as "Facebook Mobile" rename as "GoogleMaps" rename as "Movies & Music"
