4 Tom,$do$you$want$to$start$off?$ Great.$Thanks,$Roger.$Thank$you,$Marylou,$that's$a$great$question.$ $ In$2004,$the$voters$of$the$entire$RTD$that$the$entire$district$voted$to$increase$ our$sales$tax$by$0.4%$and$is$the$source$of$the$funding$for$all$the$expansion$of$ FasTracks.$Of$course,$like$everything$when$we're$working$with$government,$we$ take$that$funding$stream$and$we're$allowed$to$take$out,$basically,$mortgages$or$ float$bonds$so$that$we$can$build$the$system$out$and$then$pay$it$off$over$series$of$ years,$of$a$number$of$years,$just$like$someone$would$do$when$they$buy$a$house.$ I$hope$that$answers$your$question.$Thank$you.$ Heather$Copp:$ I'm$going$to$ask$a$question$as$Heather$maybe$if$she$wants$to$add$anything.$Do$ you$want$to$talk$about$other$funding$sources$that$we$have?$often,$folks$wonder$ how$much$are$we$collecting$on$fares?$well,$it's$a$very$small$amount.$we$get$our$ money$from$all$sorts$of$sources.$ Yes,$Roger.$I'll$add$a$little$bit$to$that.$The$entire$FasTracks$build$out,$so$far,$is$ about$5.6$billion$and$we$have$been$fortunate$in$the$denver$[mortuary$00:07:42]$ to$get$a$significant$sum$of$money$from$the$federal$government.$well$over$a$ billion$dollars$that$has$come$from$the$federal$government$to$fund$a$variety$of$ the$fastracks$lines,$either$as$a$large$portion$or$a$small$portion,$to$be$able$to$ construct$those$projects.$ $ As$Director$Tobiassen$mentioned,$we$also$do$bonding$based$on$the$2004$ approved$[voter$00:08:05]$ability$to$have$the$fourwtenths$of$a$cent$as$well$as$the$ [huge$bonds$00:08:10]$against$that.$we$then$use$our$sales$and$use$tax$revenue$ as$well$as$fare$box$revenue$to$repay$those$bonds.$in$the$[eagle$project$ 00:08:19],$which$is$the$line$to$the$A$Line$out$to$DIA,$we$had$a$large$private$ contribution$though$the$private$consortium$that's$building$that$project$and$will$ ultimately$operate$it.$we$also$have$seen$recently$some$local$contributions$such$ as$our$southeast$corridor$extension$into$lone$tree$where$the$local$government$ got$together$with$some$of$the$private$developer$and$has$actually$put$in$over$ $25$million$in$cash$into$that$project.$ $ As$you$can$see,$there's$a$lot$of$different$funding$sources$that$have$to$come$ together$to$make$some$of$these$projects$very$successful.$it$also$includes$ working$with$a$lot$of$our$local$partners$as$well$as$our$state$and$federal$partners$ in$doing$that.$ All$right.$Thanks,$Heather.$If$you've$just$joined$us$again,$please$press$"*3"$on$ your$keypad$if$you$want$to$ask$a$question.$you'll$be$transferred$to$an$operator$ who$will$take$down$your$information$and$get$you$in$the$queue.$also,$new$this$ year,$you$can$participate$online$by$going$to$rtdwfastracks.com$and$clicking$on$ the$interactive$town$hall$link$on$the$homepage.$ $ Let's$go$to$Joyce$next.$Go$right$ahead$with$your$question.$ RTD District F, October 12, 2015 on Vekeo.com Page 4 of 19

5 Joyce:$ My$question$was$the$train$is$going$to$be$leaving$from$Union$Station$going$out$to$ DIA.$Now,$is$that$part$of$the$renovation$project$that$they're$talking$about$doing$ on$iw70?$ I'll$go$ahead$and$take$that$one,$Roger.$ $ The$train$out$to$DIA$is$part$of$the$FasTracks$and$that's$a$commuter$rail.$The$ reconstruction$of$iw70$basically,$from$the$[mousetrap$00:10:08]$east$is$a$cdot$ project.$that$really$doesn't$have$anything$to$do$with$us$on$the$rtd$[side$ 00:10:15],$though.$Thank$you$for$the$question.$ Joyce:$ Eva:$ Chuck:$ Joan:$ Joan:$ Okay.$ Lots$of$questions.$Let's$go$next$to$Eva.$Go$ahead$with$your$question$tonight.$ Hi.$I$heard$you$guys$talking$about$safety$and$safety$procedures$that$are$going$to$ be$implemented.$can$you$talk$more$about$what$safety$procedure$is$better$going$ to$be$implemented$and$when$are$they$going$to$be$put$into$place?$ I$can$start$off$on$answering$part$of$your$question$on$that.$A$lot$of$the$safety$ measures$that$are$being$implemented$in$the$trains$right$now,$all$of$our$trains$do$ have$cameras$and$so$do,$i$think,$primarily$almost$all$of$our$buses$as$well.$then$ at$our$station$platforms$and$parkwnwrides,$we$will$have$cameras$that$feedback$ to$our$central$facility$that$those$cameras$can$be$monitored$at$any$point$of$the$ day.$then$also,$we$do$have,$rtd$also$have$its$own$security$and$police$ department$that$ride$the$trains,$ride$the$buses,$and$that$are$present$on$all$of$ our$lines$during$operation.$we$do$take$safety$very$seriously$and$we$do$take$a$ very$different$and$many$measures$to$make$sure$[passwthroughs$00:11:34]$are$ safe.$ Thank$you.$Joan,$you're$up$next.$What's$your$question$tonight?$ Yes.$I$wonder$if$they$had$any$plans$to$build$light$rail$to$Boulder?$ Go$ahead.$ [inaudible$00:11:48]$boulder$turnpike.$ Sure.$Hi,$Joan.$Right$now,$the$main$transit$pass$that$will$be$opening$up$in$ January$will$be$the$Bus$Rapid$Transit$going$from$Boulder,$all$the$way$to$Denver.$ That$will$be$a$dedicated$lane$for$our$buses$and$for$HOV$cars.$Right$now,$it's$[two$ plus$00:12:11],$but$i$think$it'll$be$going$to$[three$plus$00:12:12]$eventually.$i$ think$that$will$help$with$alleviating$a$good$deal$of$the$congestion$if$you$take$the$ bus.$we$are$also$working$on$the$northwest$rail,$from$denver$union$station$to$ Westminster,$in$this$first$[phase$00:12:26]$and$we$still$have$on$the$books$our$ plan$to$do$commuter$rail$through$boulder$and$then$onto$longmont$as$funding$ becomes$available.$thank$you$for$the$question.$ RTD District F, October 12, 2015 on Vekeo.com Page 5 of 19

8 Line$to$go$to$Union$Station,$to$help$with$the$crowding$on$the$H$Line$a$little$bit.$ We're$monitoring$the$ridership$very$closely$after$that$R$Line$opens$and$see$what$ happens.$ $ The$option$that$we$have$that$takes$a$little$bit$more$work$is$we$have$some$ capacity$on$our$southeast$line$to$run$some$extra$trains$between$nine$mile$or$ Florida$and$IW25$and$Broadway.$We$currently$don't$have$any$more$capacity$ north$of$iw25$and$broadway$in$the$[peaks$00:19:30],$but$we$do$have$some$ capacity$on$the$southeast$or$we$could$make$connections$to$the$[zero$limited$ 00:19:35],$to$the$Civic$Center,$for$example,$to$help$those$passengers.$We$try$to$ test$last$year,$from$august$until$may$of$this$year,$and$that$was$fairly$successful$ and$so$we're$looking$at$that$as$a$potential$other$option$too.$those$are$the$ things$that$we're$looking$at$right$now.$ Neil:$ Okay.$Neil,$it$is$your$turn.$What$is$your$question$tonight?$ Hello.$I$really$have$two$questions.$My$first$question$is$that$my$understanding$is$ the$train$going$out$a$line$out$to$dia$at$a$faster$speed,$that$it's$designed$with$a$ much$lower$passenger$and$riderwfriendly$floor$designs.$it's$much$easier$to$get$ suitcases$and$that$sort$of$thing$into$the$car$as$opposed$to$the$rest$of$your$ system$where$it's$not$unlike$climbing$the$mount$everest$trying$to$get$in$if$you$ have$a$child's$stroller,$that$kind$of$a$thing$or$any$kind$of$luggage.$is$there$any$ thought$to$retrofitting$or$replacing$the$existing$stock$of$cars$to$make$them$ much$more$passenger$and$riderwfriendly?$ $ My$second$question$is$there's$some$controversy$going$on$about$the$parking$ rates$at$the$upcoming$iliff$station$[east$of$the$00:20:50]$nine$mile$station.$are$ you$anticipating$having$the$same$kind$of$parking$rates$there?$free$for$24$hours$ if$you're$within$rtd,$within$the$system$or$is$there$going$to$be$some$kind$of$ penalty$rate$applied$at$iliff?$thanks$very$much.$ Hi,$Neil.$This$is$Tom.$Thanks$of$the$question.$It$is$very$exciting$that$we$will$have$ a$level$boarding$at$the$commuter$rail$so$that$you$can$roll$luggage$and$ everything$else$on$and$off$very$easy$and$for$larger$items.$it's$great$for$bicycles,$ wheelchairs,$[luggages$00:21:24],$it's$going$to$be$very$convenient.$ $ Retrofitting$the$light$rail$is$not$really$an$option$since$the$light$rail$serves$the$ downtown$areas,$both$in$downtown$denver$and$now,$it$will$be$serving$in$ Aurora$near$the$City$Center.$What$I$would$suggest,$though,$if$you$have$large$ items$like$luggage,$that$you$use$the$ramp$that$is$also$used$by$the$wheelchairs$to$ get$on$that$area$if$the$items$are$quite$heavy$to$carry.$then$roll$your$items$ towards$the$back$of$a$car$so$that$wheelchairs$and$other$mobility$devices$can$use$ that$priority$sitting$area.$then$let$the$driver$know,$on$the$light$rail,$when$you're$ getting$off$so$that$he$can$open$the$door$for$you$and$you$can$then,$again,$use$ the$ramp$to$get$your$heavy$items$downstairs$or$off$the$train$and$down$the$ ramp.$ RTD District F, October 12, 2015 on Vekeo.com Page 8 of 19
