Introduction The purpose of the CW-1 CLRSPC Firmware update is to fix a possible color spacing issue with the IDX CW-1 system when it is used in combination with certain model switchers, recorders, and converters. This document will help you through the firmware update process. Please make sure to take your time and follow the instructions provided in manual below in order to insure a successful and safe update. Installation Notes *VERY IMPORTANT* PLEASE READ*: When installing firmware, please make sure to only connect the CW-1 Receiver unit (RX). If the Transmitter unit (TX) is connected during the installation process, there may be irreversible damage done to TX. Please make sure to select correct file during installation or irreversible damage may also occur on units. IDX will not be held responsible for any damage to any CW-1 units that were not sent into IDX Service Center for installation. 3 2. Setup a. Required Items CW-1 RX AC-Adaptor cable or DC-plug-to- cable for RX (for powering purposes) Mini--to- cable (for data transfer purposes) b. Required Downloads Writing Software: WHDI Monitor_ Install the software from the following link: WHDI Monitor_ Device drivers: WHDI_hid_device_32bit / WHDI_hid_device_64bit Install the appropriate drivers for your computer from one of the following links: For 32bit system: whdi_hid_device_32bit For 64bit system: whdi_hid_device_64bit Firmware: CLRSPC Install the firmware from the following link: CLRSPC c. Connection Configuration CW-1 RX Mini (Via Mini- to cable For Data) PC OR CW-1 RX Mini (Via Mini- to Cable For Data) PC DC Plug (For Power) AC Adaptor DC Plug (Via DC-plug-to- cable For Power) Page 3 of 9

4 3. Software & Driver Installation (1) Download WHDI Monitor_ file and extract file contents. (2) Download appropriate 32bit/64bit Device Drivers to PC device and then double-click the downloaded executable device driver (whdi_hid_device_xxbit.exe). (3) Select appropriate language, then click OK (English and Chinese). (4) On the following screen display click OK. (5) On the following screen display click Next. Page 4 of 9

5 (6) On the following screen display click Install. (7) When the following screen is displayed, click Install this driver anyway. (8) On the following screen display click Finish. Page 5 of 9

6 4. Firmware Installation (1) Open the file WHDIMonitor.exe and the following screen will be displayed. (2) Power on CW-1 RX by using either the CW-1 RX s AC-adaptor cable (included with unit) or DC plug-to- cable (optional accessory). Then connect the CW-1 RX to your PC via Mini--to- cable. 7 (3) From the menu toolbar on the WHDI Monitor, select the Tools -> System Update Wizard. (4) The Firmware Update Wizard window will now open. Next, click the Advance button to select the firmware file in the file selection screen. Page 7 of 9

8 (5) Next, click the Application FW button and open the following Application firmware file: CB3801_WHDI_ _IDX.hex (This file should have been extracted from CLRSPC8.6.14) (6) Once the firmware file is selected, start the installation procedure by clicking the Continue button. (7) After the firmware installation, the window will automatically close. Page 8 of 9
