2 Application B-valves are designed for installation in oil plant to control the system pressure. They can be used with hydraulic oil, lubricating oil and fuel oil with lubricant properties. Design The valve consists of a cast iron body with built-in piston control. The pressure can be set using a screwdriver or a hexagon socket key in the setting screw (located inside the valve behind plug E). The valve pressure range can be altered by changing the spring. For each valve type there are five pressure ranges; see Technical data. Exploded view B: Pressure control valve set Function The valve operates in the same way as a pressure relief valve. Oil is led to the supply side P and the spring/piston ensures constant pressure by leading the oil through the hole in the piston to the return side R. Since the valves are quantity and viscosity-dependent, the correct pressure can only be set when the working temperature has been reached. See table for pressure change p Q. If this is the case, a larger valve should be used, or two valves can be connected in parallel in order to reduce the quantity flowing through each valve. Over 40 cst. the values are higher and not stated because the uncertainty factor becomes too great. Never use hemp or similar to seal threads. The system pressure can be measured in port P n, see port positions above. Only when the working temperature is reached can a correct measurement be taken. 5 Gasket set and springs Since the gasket set is also used for pumps, there will be gaskets in the set that are not intended for use with the valves.
