1 The following instructions are designed to assist registered attendees with accessing a live ACM webinar. Should you require assistance with registering for a webinar, or self-enrolling into a pre-existing webinar recording, please follow the steps provided in the following infographics: How to register for a live ACM webinar How to self-enrol into a webinar recording (Note: webinar recordings are only available free of charge for ACM members. To become a member, please click here) To jump to a particular section within this how-to guide, please select the appropriate link below: Logging into Midwives Learn Requesting a new password Navigating to the webinar Downloading Adobe Connect Overcoming any audio issues Asking questions during the webinar Answering the feedback survey and downloading a certificate of completion These event days are often the busiest days of the month for the ACM Education Unit, therefore we highly recommend logging into the webinar early or testing your access a few days in advance. If you encounter any issues accessing the webinar, please contact the Education Unit on (08) In the instance that all phone lines are busy, please your full name, phone number and issue to kirsty.andermahr@midwives.org.au. We will try to help you gain access as soon as possible, however in the instance that you miss the beginning of the presentation, please remember that you will receive free access to the webinar recording. Logging into Midwives Learn Important information: Midwives Learn ( is a separate system to your member portal, so you will not gain access to the webinar through the normal ACM website ( Your username and password for Midwives Learn may be different to your member portal. If you are unsure of your password, please see the Requesting a New Password section below. Steps for logging into Midwives Learn 1. 2 2. Enter your username and password within the login fields and select the purple Log in button Once you have entered your username and password, click Log In 3. If you have entered your login details correctly, a page similar to the following will appear. Note: The list of courses within the menu will differ depending on the courses/webinars that you have enrolled to complete. How-to Guide: Accessing a Live Webinar Last Updated: 17/04/2018 Page: 2

3 If you are logged in, you will see your name at the top-right hand side of the page This list features a number of the courses that you are currently enrolled in and are yet to complete. Requesting a New Password 1. If you do not recall your password, you can request a new one by selecting the Lost password? link. Click on Lost password? 4 2. Search for your account by entering either your username or address. You only need to enter details into one of these fields, not both. Once you ve entered your details, click on Search. 3. The following message will appear. As stated, if you have supplied the correct details you will be ed a link to reset your password. Please select Continue and open your inbox to complete this process. Click on Continue to return to the login page. How-to Guide: Accessing a Live Webinar Last Updated: 17/04/2018 Page: 4

5 4. The delivered to your address, should appear similar to the image below. Please click on the link to reset your password. Note: This link will only remain active for 30 minutes, after which you will need to complete steps 1 through to 3 again to receive a new link. 5. Upon selecting the link, you will be asked to enter your new password twice. Your new password must have at least 6 characters, and 1 digit. Once completed, select the Save changes button. If you do not receive this or continue to have issues logging into Midwives Learn, please contact our Education Unit on (08) or Navigating to the Webinar There are multiple ways that you can access the webinar homepage, however the following method is the quickest. 1. Select the live webinar link at the top of the page. For example, April Live Webinar will appear during the week of the April webinar. Click on the live webinar link at the top of the page. This will appear with open the current month s webinar home page. 2. Once you are on the webinar home page, you should see a page similar to the following image. 7 3. Scroll down the page until you see Learning Resources section. Select the Access the Live Webinar link. Note: You can only open this activity between 1pm 2:30pm AEDT on the day of the live event. Click here 4. The following page will appear, and should include a link to Adobe Connect. 8 5. Click on Enter as a Guest. Then, type your name into the field provided and select Enter Room. Select Enter as Guest Type in your full name Click on Enter Room 6. If you have never accessed Adobe Connect before, you will be asked to install this program when the following page will appear. We will discuss installing Adobe Connect in the next section of this how-to guide. 7. If you have already downloaded Adobe Connect, you should automatically see the webinar presentation. A host will be online 30 minutes prior to the start time, so you are welcome to join as early as 1:00pm AEST. How-to Guide: Accessing a Live Webinar Last Updated: 17/04/2018 Page: 8

9 Downloading Adobe Connect If you have not previously installed or accessed Adobe Connect, you may find that you will not be able to view the webinar until you have completed the following steps. 1. After completing steps 4 & 5 of the previous section, the following page will appear prompting you to download Adobe Connect. Please select the blue Download Now button. Select the Download Now Button 2. The following page should appear and the Installer will automatically download. If you are using Google Chrome, you may find that this file appears at the bottom of your screen, such per the image below. 10 3. Open the file ConnectSetup.exe and click on either Yes or Run. Select the Run button. Depending on your browser and computer settings this may state Yes instead. 4. The Adobe Connect Installer will open on your computer screen. Please select where you would like a shortcut to appear, then click on Exit. 11 5. Refer back to your internet browser, where the following page should still be appearing. Please select the Launch Adobe Connect button. Click on the blue Launch Adobe Connect button. 6. Depending on your settings, you may need to allow the program to open by selecting the Open Adobe Connect button. Click on the blue Open Adobe Connect button. Overcoming Audio Issues In the instance that you are experiencing poor audio through your computer speaker, we recommend dialling into the meeting instead. This does not always fix the issue 100%, however please rest assured that we will be working behind the scenes to fix the issue as soon as possible. 1. Call on your mobile or landline phone. 2. 12 Asking a Question throughout the Presentation Whilst coordinating the webinar, our Education Unit ask the presenters if they would prefer to answer questions as they come up, or at the end of the webinar. We will notify you of their preferred method throughout Welcoming and Housekeeping part of the presentation. Having said this, even if the presenter elects to answer the questions at the end, we recommend typing your question into the chat box and the facilitators will ensure that this is answered before the webinar closes. 1. When the chat box states Chat (Everyone) any messages that you add will be visible to the public. 2. Simply type your message into the white text bar, and either press enter on your keyboard or select the chat bubble icon. Completing the feedback survey and downloading your certificate of completion 1. Once the webinar has concluded, please return to Midwives Learn using steps 1-3 in Accessing the Webinar. 2. Rather than selecting the webinar link, please complete the feedback survey. 3. Provided you have completed all of the course/webinar learning activities, you can then select the Certificate of Completion link and save a copy of this file for your CPD portfolio.
