2 Introduction This document contains the necessary information to connect, manage and deliver the demos contained in the Application Visibility and Analytics SE Remote Demo Environment. All information is subject to change as and when the demos are expanded and additional demos put in place. Please check with the content owners if in doubt and for the latest version. As these demos are open to any SE that requests access, we must preserve the present configuration so that all users will be able to use the scripts as written. Therefore, you will have READ ONLY access to both 6860E and OmniVista. The only OmniVista application with WRITE access is Policy View for the purpose of creating enforcement policies. Please feel free to send any improvements of ideas to the central team (contact details at end of this document). 3 How to obtain access to the Demo? Presently, the demonstration platform is hosted in Brest, France. Access is through RDP or VIA Client. VIA Client generally provides better performance when latency is high (i.e. outside of Europe for instance). With RDP, the process is as follows: 1. Book the demo through the E-demo portal. Once the demo is approved, you will receive an with instructions, your username/password and an RDP shortcut attached should you want to connect through RDP. 2. During your allocated timeslot, connect to the E-Demo environment using the RDP shortcut, credentials and instructions provided in the . Note that this will only be possible during your allocated timeslot. 3. Once connected and authenticated, you will have access to a local workstation where you will have access to a Web browser and SSH client to access OmniVista, the Web and the switch CLI. With VIA, the process is as follows: 1. Book the demo through the E-demo portal. Once the demo is approved, you will receive an with instructions and your username/password. 2. Download the VIA client here: 3. Make sure your device is connected to the Internet trough DSL, LTE, etc. TCP Port 443 and UDP Port 4500 must be allowed through the Firewall for VIA to work. 4. Install the VIA client. 5. Once installed, launch the VIA client and configure as follows. a. Remote Server: gatewlan.al-mydemo.com b. Username: <your username from Step 1> c. 4 7. A Security Alert message may be displayed, click Yes to accept. 8. Click Login when prompted and select the via-auth-analytics profile Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Page 4

You will be prompted to enter your credentials once again, please provide the information and click Ok. 11.

5 9. A similar window will pop-up, accept the via-analytics Remote Server and click Login. If this doesn t happen, kill the application and launch again. 10. You will be prompted to enter your credentials once again, please provide the information and click Ok. 11. VIA will automatically connect and minimize to the status bar. You can look for the icon and double click to check the status of your connection. 6 Demo Overview Network Diagram The following diagram shows the layout of the demo: Note that if you are connecting to the Demo environment directly through LAN/WLAN without RDP/VIA your traffic will not flow through the 6860E for monitoring. Therefore, make sure you connect through RDP/VIA even if you have direct access. Demo Flow With this setup, the RDP/VIA client will have all its traffic, including Internet traffic, routed through the 6860E and inspected. Before starting the demo (more than 1 hour before because some statistics are only refreshed every hour), make sure you connect and browse some Internet sites or generate some Internet traffic (e.g. youtube, skype, etc.). You will need to book the demo for at least 1 hour more than your intended demo time for this reason. After you have generated some traffic, you can connect to the OmniVista server and 6860E switch to show statistics collected. READ ONLY permissions are granted for all OmniVista applications except Policy View. WRITE permissions are 2017 Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Page 6

7 granted for the Policy View application only for the 6860E-24-AppMonDemo switch. VERY IMPORTANT! When connecting through VIA, all your traffic, including access to the OmniVista server, will be tunnelled to and flow through the 6860E- 24-AppMonDemo. Therefore, it is very important that you do not create a policy that locks yourself out from the network. You should only create and apply policies recommended in the Script document.
