16. Frequently Asked Questions and Troubleshooting 16.1 Attention of Skyport Update Before you update Infinities Skyport Service, in prevention of data inconsistency between Skyport and CloudFusion, Please pay attention to the following in advance: Please backup existing accessconfig.xml file, After you done updating, move this backup file to the root folder of Infinities Skyport Engine. Never copy this backup file to the folder where the CloudFusion status is already synced; otherwise, it will cause the system to work abnormally. Naming of Skyport in previous one and the new one must be the same. To set up Skyport, please refer to Chapter 7 Skyport Configuration Attention of Multi Skyport Configuration If you need to set up Multi Skyport, Infinities provides you with another installation pack. Make a copy of Infinities Skyport Engine, move it to designated location, and modify Skyport name. You also need to remove accessconfig.xml file if there is already an existing one, because accessconfig.xml file is not created by designated location. Then, activate Skyport Validation of System Time Calibration Please validate system time calibration at Server site and Client site; otherwise, service will not be able to login to CloudFusion. 62
16.4 Skyport Environment Setup of the Hosts File In case any error occurs during Skyport operation, try to add new host name by corresponding IP. Configure it in the hosts file under the following path: For the Linux, i.e., /etc/hosts, e.g., localhost For Windows, i.e., C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, e.g., localhost 16.5 ActiveMQ Failure Troubleshooting When ActiveMQ fails to work, check activemq.xml configuration file whether port number 5672 is occupied by other application or not.... "<transportconnector name="amqp" uri="amqp:// : 5672?maximumConnections=1000&wireFormat.maxFrameSize= "/>" 16.6 Data Synchronization Problem of CloudFusion and Skyport When the administrator of CloudFusion platform registers a cloud cluster, the system will automatically perform data synchronization with Skyport and data transfer via ActiveMQ mechanism. If it takes too long to complete data synchronization or there is an abnormal synchronization, causing CloudFusion not displaying the resource pool, Host, template, Virtual machine (VM) and other information properly, etc., please check the following procedure for troubleshooting. Registration of cloud cluster usually takes about 15~30 minutes for data synchronization. You will not be able to execute any cloud cluster configuration until data synchronization is finished. 63
Retrieve Infinities Skyport Service: URL: Public IP:8085 (Default login account: admin/1111) On the Skyport Web page illustrated in the figure below, select Listener item (indicated by the red rectangle), and a list of the listeners will be available to you. Note: The Skyport Listener menu item is to check status of ActiveMQ Service during data transfer. Currently, only Skyport Web page provides Listener menu item. Retrieve Apache ActiveMQ Service: URL: Public IP:8161/admin/queues.jsp (Default login account: admin/admin) 64
On the ActiveMQ Web page illustrated in the figure below, select Queues menu (indicated by the red rectangle) to retrieve Queues page. Correspondence between Listener attribute in Skyport Listener list and Name attribute in ActiveMQ Queues list is described below: Skyport Listener ActiveMQ Queues Remarks CamelHostListener HostChangeNotify Basic information of the platform. CamelNetworkListener NetworkChangeNotify Basic information of 65
CamelResourcePoolListener CamelTemplateListener CamelVmListener ResourcePoolChangeNotify TemplateChangeNotify VmChangeNotify VmMetricsNotify network interface card. Basic information of resource pool. Basic information of template. Basic information of virtual machine. Basic information of virtual machine real time monitoring.. Note: Skyport Listener attribute value display format is ListenerName_ConfigId, e.g., CamelHostListener_7deccec8. 66
In Skyport Listener list, constants of Type attribute are described as follows. Attribute Value REFRESHED ADDED MODIFIED REMOVED Remarks An action type of Skyport for initialization at first time start or restart. An action type to add a new virtual machine. An action type to modify design of existing virtual machine. An action type to remove a virtual machine. Note: Type Attribute is an operation on virtual machine from CloudFusion, e.g., add, modify, and remove virtual machine, which are type identifiers for communication to the Skyport. In the Skyport Listener list, Action attribute constants are described below: Action Attribute Register Trigger Receive Send Ignore 1. Register a cloud cluster. Remarks 2. Skyport Core module transfers existing data to the Skyport icloud module. 3. Skyport icloud module receives existing data to transfer existing up to date data to ActiveMQ Service If data update is not required, Skyport icloud will not transfer them to ActiveMQ Service. 67
Note: Action Attribute is to verify during the synchronization between CloudFusion and Skyport whether Skyport has successfully transferred data to ActiveMQ service. In the Skyport Listener list, other attributes are described below: Attribute Date Location Message Note: Remarks The last update time. P.S., only the latest record is displayed. Operation items, Class Name. Result information. P.S., number in parentheses presents the total count of corresponding record. CamelVmListener REFRESHED is a special class, which provides not only basic information of virtual machine but also corresponding real time monitoring information. Because data exchange for real time monitoring information is more complicated, you can observe frequent time change(indicated in the red rectangle below) for 68
Date Attribute, and a time gap in the latest record of the virtual machine information update(indicated in the blue rectangle below). When querying ActiveMQ web page, if you find that there are multiple records persistently stay in the Number of Pending Messages Attribute of the Queues list (illustrated in the following figure) and are not possibly updated to the CloudFusion platform, please restart Apache Tomcat Service, until the attribute of this record is reduced to 0. To restart the service, please refer to Chapter 12 Service Restart. 69
In case the data synchronization problem cannot be solved, please collect required logs and contact Infinities technical support staff. Apache ActiveMQ Service Logs: Log repository path: /CloudFusion/activemq/data. Log file name: activemq.log Apache Tomcat Service Logs: Log repository path: /CloudFusion/tomcat/logs. Log file name: cloudfusion.camel.log Infinities Skyport Service Logs: Log repository path: /CloudFusion/skyport/logs. Log file name: activemq.log, camel.log, server.log 70
16.7 Accessing VMware ResourcePool through Skyport Skyport ResourcePool will not be able to be configured if the Skyport ResourcePool is not able to retrieve any information. A cluster can be added in VMware in Skyport to access the information of VMware ResourcePool 71
