The work involved the implementation of the Human-Machine Interface of the control console for the Scorpene submarines built for the Chilean Navy. Ago Dec 1997 Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María Project Development of a Life Signals Monitoring Equipment University project derived from the FONDEF II-12 project. This project covered the construction of six life signals monitors, including electrocardiographics, blood pressure sensing, oximetrics, and breath activity sensing. The monitors were connected with a main console able to display any of the local signals and supervise them all. Working as a Software Developer, the tasks accomplished were: Software development for the display of electrocardiographic signals. Creation of a generic menu system and text display system. Developing of a sound system for the generation of user interaction sound cues and alarms. Design and coding of the data system for the main supervision console.

4 Feb 1995 Sep 1996 Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María Project FONDEF II-12 FONDEF II-12 was an university project with government funding, under the CONYCIT plan of supporting for the national technology development. The project researched the technologies involved in the construction of electrocardiographic equipment, and medical equipment in general. Under a low-cost requirement, the hardware designed was based in the PC architecture. The user interface was programmed in the DOS environment. As a Software Developer, the following tasks were carried out: Design and coding of a highly optimized algorithm for antialiased draw of electrocardiographs, programmed in i86 assembler. Graphic user interface design. Creation of a multitasking kernel for real time applications, in a 32 bits Extended DOS environment. Dec Jan 1995 Chilectra S.A. Chilectra is one of the biggest Chilean electric distribution companies. There a second internship was done, assigned to the Telecommunication Systems Division. The tasks assigned included support for the engineers in their duties of maintaining the telecommunication equipment and corporate computer network, and the elaboration of the basic engineering report for the telecommunication system of a new electric distribution substation. Dec Feb 1993 Manufacturera de Cobre Viña del Mar (COVISA) COVISA is an electric wire manufacturing company. There was done the first internship, assigned to the Electric Maintenance Workshop. Duties included helping the technicians in charge of the maintenance and repairing of all the electric and electronic manufacturing equipment Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María Two different assistantships were done as a student. There were 1 semester as assistant of the Basic Mechanical Physics Laboratory. 2 semesters as assistant of the Digital Systems Laboratory.
