4 4 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers IOM6 ADIO Designed to work with the ic5700 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzer, this IOM accessory can be connected directly to the FNET port. Its digital and analog inputs and outputs can be used to analyze signals on the target system as well as trigger measurement equipment or control the system being developed. Additionally, by utilizing the digital and analog outputs, it is possible to generate trigger signals for measurement equipment, such as an oscilloscope, or to control the target hardware. When used in conjunction with our scripting SDK, isystem. connect, it is even possible to develop a competent HIL platform for testing purposes.

5 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers 5 IOM6 CAN/LIN Connecting directly to the FNET port of the ic5700 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzer, this IOM accessory can be used to capture network traffic on CAN, CAN-FD and LIN busses. Captured data can then be interleaved with program trace information. For many automotive applications, with layers of abstraction hiding both code and functionality, and little insight into parallel software modules, such hardware can show how long it takes CAN and LIN messages prepared and sent at runnable level to actually make their way through the layers of AUTOSAR before they actually reach the hardware interface module and data bus itself. Couple this with a live system, the impact of CAN network data on the timing of the AUTOSAR application can also be measured, potentially leading to changes in priority of messages on the CAN bus to improve response times. In industrial applications, similar measurements can be made, reviewing activity at RTOS task level within winidea and then examining CAN bus activity in parallel.

6 6 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers IOM6 Hub & Active Probes Complexity seemingly knows no bounds - and neither do the complex challenges we, as embedded developers, face on a daily basis. The IOM6 Hub and Active Probes provide expansion capabilities for the ic5700 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzer when you need it. The IOM6 Hub is available to order as an accessory at the time of purchase of an ic5700 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzer. In order to ensure that as much information is available at your fingertips as possible, the IOM6 Hub can be used to increase the number of FNET ports on the ic5700 BlueBox from 1 to 4. Now you can combine our CAN/LIN data capture, analog and digital capture and control, and debug and trace via our active probes, all from one central hardware tool. Our Active Probes allow debug and trace data to be captured close to the target, allowing the BlueBox to be placed up to 5m away. This enables debugging in-situ of complex automotive and industrial applications on the latest multicore microcontrollers and SoCs, such as Infineon s AURIX and ARM devices featuring an HSSTP interface.

7 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers 7 IOM6 Cables & Connectors To complement its range of IOM6 Accessories, isystem offers a range of cables suitable for connecting these devices to the target embedded system. For the analysis of CAN and LIN networks, a range of DE-9 connectors with flying leads are offered, allowing simple attachment to the system being analyzed. In addition, a T-piece is also available. For analog and digital signals, packs of flying leads, clips and BNC-to-BNC cables are provided.

8 8 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers IOM5 Complementing the AURORA capable ic6000 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzer, this IOM accessory adds digital and analog inputs and outputs to its feature set. It can be used to analyze signals on the target system as well as trigger measurement equipment or control the system being developed. With 8 digital inputs and outputs and 2 analog inputs and outputs, the IOM5 can be used to complement program and data trace information with other embedded system signals. On the input side, serial data communications, such as CAN or SPI, can be interleaved with trace data in the winidea Analyzer window, providing deeper insights into the relationship between RTOS tasks and events occurring in the broader context of the application. This could be the start-of-frame (SOF) of a CAN message, or a message via SPI targeted at a specific peripheral. Combing the power of our scripting software developer kit (SDK) isystem.connect with the IOM5 opens up the possibility of automated testing. By developing test scripts in Python, C++ or Java, Continuous Integration (CI) tools, such as Jenkins and Bamboo, can be coupled with an IOM5 enabled ic6000 for regular testing of complex applications as well as unit testing of software libraries on the target microcontroller.

9 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers 9 IOM2 & IOM2-D As well as offering digital and analog inputs, the IOM2 accessories also provides digital and analog outputs, complementing the debugging and trace capability of the ic5000 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzer. These can, for simple testing purposes, be controlled via the graphical user interface (GUI) within winidea. But if you are interested in improving code quality through regular testing, these interfaces can provide much, much more. When delving deep into embedded applications, sometimes you need to understand more than simply what the microcontroller is doing. In conjunction with the ic5000 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzer, the IOM2 accessories deliver the status of digital and analog signals in the time-domain of the microcontroller, displaying their relationship to code execution or real-time operation system (RTOS) task state. By linking the IOM2 or IOM2-D to your target system it is possible to develop scripts that flash your microcontroller with the latest build of your application and execute unit, integration and system tests. Such a Mini-HIL can be set up to run overnight or at the weekend. Fully automated testing, with test report and code coverage generation, can additionally be implemented simply using tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo. Simply integrate with your existing code repository and, every morning, you can quickly see the impact new commits have had on the functionality of your software drivers, operating system port, or your entire application.

10 10 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers IOM Power Probe Pinpointing the reasons for poor power consumption performance against that expected can be very challenging. The IOM Power Probe utilizes the analog input of our IOM Accessories to deliver power insights for your embedded application. By coupling this information with program trace information within the winidea Analyzer, it is possible to find the relationship between unexpected or undesired power peaks and sections of code, interrupt routines or RTOS tasks.

11 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers 11 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers ic5700 The latest addition to isystem s premium range of BlueBox development tools, the ic5700 delivers unique insights into your embedded application. As well as supporting traditional debugging and trace, an additional connector (FNET) allows the connection of a wide range of IOM accessories to broaden the range of data collected. This provides the developer the chance to perform in-depth timing analysis of complex applications, studying the relationship between real-time operating tasks and, for example, CAN network data transfers, or other types of serial bus transaction. Finally, the latest generation of high-bandwidth trace interfaces of single and multi-core microcontrollers are supported.

12 12 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers ic6000 Designed specifically to support the high-speed serial interfaces featured on some advanced 32-bit microcontrollers, the ic6000 is an advanced development tool for tackling some of the most challenging multicore embedded software development challenges. Featuring an AURORA interface, a serial protocol defined by Xilinx, this BlueBox technology can extract trace data at speeds of up to 6.25Gbps and features 8GB of SDRAM for local buffering of the data.

Through its tried and testing ribboncable interface, a range of adapters are available to enable interfacing to all major connector types found on semiconductor vendor s development board or even your own prototyping hardware.

14 14 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers Development Software The hardware enables access to the inner workings of the target microcontroller and, without suitable software, the insights it delivers will remain hidden from the developer. isystem provides a range of software that displays everything from code coverage to timing analysis, and test results for your C code. And when the graphical user interface is not enough, you can develop your own scripts or applications on top of the SDK. 15 BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers 15 W DEVELOPMENT SOFTWARE winidea The main interface to the BlueBox hardware is winidea, an integrated development environment (IDE) delivering the power to analyze code, review RTOS tasks, and visualize data. Should a specific functionality be missing, scripts using isystem.connect can be created to implement them. t DEVELOPMENT SOFTWARE testidea Regular testing of application code, especially reusable software modules, is simplified with testidea. Making use of the debug interface to the microcontroller, tests are executed on-target, allowing potential issues with tool chain and microcontroller configuration to be factored into the test results.
