2 Talon Designed Products in 2012 (1 of 2) Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Classroom Edition: Talon designed the DDR Classroom Edition s ultra-low power wireless system capable of supporting up to 48 dance mats. Key to the success of the product is the Talon custom high speed low latency radio stack. CES 2013 showcased the product and a U- tube video link is provided: Blood Alcohol Monitoring Device: Talon designed a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) device with GPS, camera, Bluetooth and 3G modem in just ten weeks. The customer had previously spent 16 months attempting to develop the product. The BAC test result, photo and GPS location is transmitted from the device to a secure web portal for review. Sports Training Device: Talon Communications has designed a personal training device which includes a heart rate sensor and stride sensor. The RF design is based on the 2.4GHz ANT+ protocol. Using the wireless Heart Rate Based Training, the PEAR weight loss program helps customers train in the most efficient fat burning zones to maximize fat loss and reach weight loss goals. 2

8 Wireless Healthcare - BAN Sensor Medical Electronic Bandage Shiver Detector Talon designed from scratch a robust ultra low power electronic bandage for detecting shivering in critical care patients. Shiver Sensors 1 2 Shiver Sensor shown actual size Access Point USB PC Talon provided: Sensor designed around CR1620 coin cell to continuously transmit 50 samples/second motion data for 4 days Minimum weight (2.7g) and size (21mm 2 ) Talon custom radio protocol for absolute lowest power consumption GHz star network utilizing a Talon proprietary protocol stack 8
9 Blast Detector and Calculator BAN Sensor Body Worn Blast Detector / Calculator Pressure Sensor 27.2 mm CR2032 coin cell PCB with 32 bit ARM microcontroller/dsp, High Speed Radio and RFID Talon took over this project from a company following their 1 year development effort. The original device proved the concept but was analog based and failed to perform reliably from unit to unit. Talon provided: Complete Digital Signal Processing (DSP) system architecture enabling extremely low unit to unit variability. DSP algorithm development and verification using MATLAB. Coin cell operation of 2 5,000 events per day. Wireless reader for event download. 9
10 Biometric Sensor Secure Identification Biometric HID Thumbprint Sensor Talon designed for TSA a biometric thumb sensor with wireless access to secure door locks. Talon provided: Talon performed major product redesign and brought production yield up to 98% (from <20%) Biometric finger printer reader for positively identifying owners Zero power display Activates door locks using ZigBee TM radio and control software Challenge was packaging on HID card 10
