4 1 Release tes What's New in the HPE 3PAR Online Import Utility This is release of the 3PAR Online Import Utility. The product uses a migration tool called the 3PAR Online Import Utility to migrate data from an EMC Storage, HDS Storage, or IBM XIV system to an HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage system. The following features are new with the 3PAR Online Import Utility 1.5.0: Support for IBM XIV Gen2 and Gen3. Support for HPE 3PAR OS MU2. Performance improvement for migration from EMC VNX, CX, and VMAX to 3PAR StoreServ Storage. The ability to add multiple destination HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage systems to a single source system. The ability to migrate hosts simultaneously between source and destination systems. Concurrent createmigration and startmigration support for multiple independent/cluster host nodes using a single or multiple createmigration commands. There are support limitations based on the source array vendor and specific configuration in use. A new -cluster parameter has been added to the createmigration command. Use of this option, which is mandatory for cluster-based hosts being migrated using the online or MDM migration types, sets the HPE 3PAR host persona/os type for all cluster nodes being migrated. The following CLI commands are new: updatesource: This command enables the customer to update the password used to access a source array that is present in the OIU database. updatedestination: This command enables the customer to update the password used to access a destination array that is present in the OIU database. showcluster: This command lists the syntax of all the cluster type options or strings supported by the HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage. Requirements for Concurrent createmigration and startmigration Operations For HDS Storage and IBM XIV Storage, you can migrate multiple hosts using a single createmigration command as well as by using multiple instances of the createmigration command (from different source storage systems). Table 1 (page 5) shows the different source-destination array configurations that support concurrent migrations. Specific configurations may or may not be supported, depending on the type of source array vendor or model. IMPORTANT: The concurrent createmigration and startmigration support covers migrations for all volumes and/or subsets of volumes, and applies to all parameters or options that are currently supported with the createmigration and startmigration commands. 4 Release tes For an online migration type, the concurrent createmigration and startmigration commands can be run with any of the supported parameters. For an MDM migration type, run the migrations using the Concurrent migration of multiple source arrays to the same destination array configuration and with the vvset and hostset parameters

5 specified. A second createmigration operation can be started only if the first migration is in the import phase that is, all the importing LUNs should have task IDs.
