7 Logging into AgilePLM 1. Go to: 2. In the Username field, enter your Core ID. 3. In the Password field enter your OneIT Password. Note: AgilePLM Web Client is compatible with IE 7 and 8, Firefox 2, 3.0, and 3.6, J2SE Runtime Environment 6.0 7

8 Roles and Permissions Roles and permissions determine what you can do and see in AgilePLM. The majority of users receive roles that enable them to see various objects and manipulate objects based on their needs. 16 Navigating the Tabs in AgilePLM AgilePLM home page tabs include: Dashboard Notification Tab Workflow Routing Tab My Assignments Tab Note: The specific Inbox tabs displayed on the home page are determined by assigned roles and privileges. 16

18 Notifications Tab Lists notifications sent to you through the PLM notification system. Notifications inform you of some action, process, or comment that has taken place. For improved performance, delete notifications when they are no longer needed. In the Home page, the Notifications tab lists notifications that have been ed to you through the PLM notification system. Click this link to view and read the notification in the notification palette. Icon for the object type related to the notification. Place your cursor over the icon to see the object name in the tool tip. Click this column head to sort the notification table by object type. Click this link to open the object in the content pane. 20 Using the Notifications Tab Viewing a Notification: 1. Click the Subject link. 2. The notification details and links to associated data are displayed in the notification palette. The palette controls include: - Back read the previous notification in the table. - Forward read the next notification in the table. - Delete delete the displayed notification. - Close close the palette. 20

21 Using the Notifications Tab (cont.) Deleting a Notifications From the Table: 1. Select the table rows you want to delete. 2. Click the Delete button or Press the Delete key. Note: For improved performance, delete notifications when they are no longer needed. 21

23 Notification Tab vs. Workflow Routings Tab Notification Tab The Notifications Tab in AgilePLM is important to those who do not address AgilePLM Notifications using Outlook . In addition to those automated into AgilePLM workflow, Notifications also contain manual notifications like Sends, Comments, Changes Returned to Originator, etc. Notifications are static, and remain until you delete them. Workflow Routings Tab The Workflow Routings Tab is important to Change Analysts, Quality Administrators, Environmental Process Analysts, and Approvers who approve primarily as a member of a User Group. Workflow Routings is an outof-box Change search - results are dynamic within the search, and remain until you (or someone else) acts upon them. 23

24 Using the Navigator Button 1. In the Navigation Pane, click the Navigator button to the routings. 2. Click the links in the NAVIGATOR on the left to display each object in the content pane. As you click through the list, the object appears in the content pane with the most recently viewed tab displayed. 24

When each link is clicked, the object appears in the content pane with the Affected Items tab selected. Use the NAVIGATOR to quickly review Affected Items table information for each Workflow Routings object. 25

28 Working with Objects Objects includes parts, documents, RFQs, and change orders, etc. Objects you can view and the actions you can perform are determined by the roles and privileges you are granted to access those components. Privileges can vary from field to field. When opened, an object appears with a number of tabs. Different types of objects have different tabs. Each tab contains fields that provide information about the object. Some tabs have fields and tables where you enter data; some fields and tables are filled in automatically. 28

32 The Searches Folder Perform a search to find specific AgilePLM objects or other kinds of information. The main Searches folder has subfolders of saved searches. Specialized searches can be created to meet individual group needs. If not already displayed, click Folders to display the search folders, bookmarks, and recently visited list. In the Searches section, click the Expand All icon to display all the searches. For a specific folder, click the icon to display the searches in that folder. 32

33 Types of Searches Quick Searches (Simple Search) Searches for objects whose name, number, or description matches the criteria in the top pane toolbar Search text box. A Quick Search can search across all objects or can be filtered for a specific object base class. Basic Searches A pre-configured parametric search the AgilePLM Administrator has configured. Custom Searches In the quick search results display or from the top pane search menu, click Custom Search to display the Search Criteria dialog. You can narrow your search by filtering the search results and defining additional search criteria. AgilePLM displays the last custom search you used. 33

Advanced Searches For greater precision, you can perform an advanced search, which allows you to use more specific search conditions and multiple conditions which have not been pre-configured in the parametric search. Where Used Searches An option in Advanced Search, it searches specific levels of the BOM and revisions, such as All Levels Latest Released Revision Only 34

35 Item Attributes Can search on item attributes Attributes describe the item Not limited to searching by an item type Some examples of attributes used for specific searches by: Any of the fields are populated Product line or APC ERP system Approvers Encryption Environment compliance Some attributes will change through the product s life 35

More attributes are populated as the item goes through the Engineering Change Order workflow to promote to a Lifecycle and/or Revision For example, ERP attributes are not required until promoting via EC from Preliminary to a released lifecycle and sending the item s data to ERP(s) Attributes may require changes as the item moves through the workflow stages or Lifecycles Examples: Make to Buy, addition of parametric data, Item Owner change 36

48 Standard Reports Standard reports provide information commonly needed to analyze business processes. Select predefined criteria and specify the results to be returned. Note: The user-assigned role determines what reports can be run and which attributes can be used for search criteria. Report results can be limited by your access privileges. 48

49 Running a Report In the REPORTS Area in the left navigation pane, 1. Click the Reports and Analytics folder icon to expand. 2. Click to expand the top-level folders. 3. Click to expand the reports folders. 4. Click Execute and follow the wizard steps. If no wizard steps, the report generates immediately.. 49

53 Summary AgilePLM is the single tool solution used to manage items, BOMs, AML, changes, revision history, environmental compliance, First Article, and part qualification. Tabs, windows, and toolbars are used to navigate through the Oracle. Item attributes contain additional information about the item and can be used for searches. Some attributes will change throughout a part or product s life. ECs and MCs are used to process changes. Changed items appear on the Affected Items tab. 53

54 Summary (cont.) In AgilePLM, a workflow lists the steps a particular transaction needs to go through. Lifecycle phases are states that an item goes through from Item Creation through Release AgilePLM supports several different types of searches. Custom and standardized reports are available. 54
