2 Log-in Screen To get to the Load Watch front page, go to First time users are required to load ActiveX controls for -D graphics and advanced charting. The total installation time is under a minute for broadband users and may vary based on your internet connection speed and network traffic. Enter your assigned User Name and Password Password protected access is provided. Access restrictions can be implemented based on account user names. If you forget your user name or password; please call the Distributed Resources Systems Operations Center (DR-SOC) at
3 Welcome Screen Depending on the applications available to your enterprise, you can select from many different applications: Enterprise Manager for a quick glimpse of your enterprise and sites. Alarm Manager to view, acknowledge and assign alarms. Data Analyst to perform data-specific analyses. Energy Analyst to perform energy-specific analyses. My Favorite Reports for a list of frequently-used reports. Gives the user an expandable list of applications, as well as user preferences, help, and a Logout option. The Exit (X) button allows the user to quickly exit the interface. Users can also use the Logout link on the left side of the screen if they wish. The Help (?) button provides assistance with common questions and problems.
4 Enterprise Navigator 4 The Enterprise Navigator lets you view and quickly access data at all levels in your organization, using a simple and intuitive graphical interface. The Graphical View Window provides a unique view of your facilities with status indicators based on the most recent data. The green font indicates normal operating conditions, where red indicates alarm conditions. The Tree Control is used in multiple sections of the energy now site and allows you to drill-down through your organization levels and entities to find and select data points for analysis in the Trend Viewer. The Trend Viewer allows you to quickly graph historical values and trends for data points. You can select points from either the Tree Control or click on objects in the Graphical View Window. 4 The Dashboard is a tool that allows users to manipulate time intervals, and hence the amount of data being displayed in the Trend Viewer. 4
5 Facility Specific Information 4 Selecting a point in the Graphical View Window provides information for the selected building, process, or operating unit. 4 Additional drill-down capabilities can be designed for each of the buildings or sites including summary and aggregate information for the entire Organization. Contains Point ID specific information for selected point, including Average, Peak Value, Last Value, and Last Alarm. Trend View of the selected point. Graphic capabilities are always available in the Trend View regardless of the current screen. The Back Button will return you to the Welcome Screen, as shown on page. It is available on all screens except the Welcome Screen. 5
6 Graphics Capabilities Easy to use graphing controls allow the user to change dates and make comparisons to other dates with a limited number of mouse clicks. A simple right mouse click provides data labels and a left mouse click and hold can magnify the viewing area (reverse movement to return magnification to normal). All data can be viewed in a graphical or tabular format. Tabular data can be exported to a spreadsheet program for further analysis or report generation. 6
7 Data Analyst The Data Analyst provides pre-configured, customizable data graphs for consistent report generation. Select the desired report. Reports include Single Point Trend, Multi- Point Trend, 4 Hour Line Plot, D Surface Chart, Scatter Plot, Min, Max, Average, Single Digital Point Totals, Multi Point Digital Totals and Data Viewing and Export. (See next page) 7
8 Data Analyst Single Point Trend For a single data point, plots a line graph of the archived interval data over any time period. Multi-Point Trend For one or more data points, plots a line graph of the archived interval data over any time period. 4 Hour Line Plot For a single data point, plots one curve that spans 4 hours for each day included in the report time span. D Surface Chart A three dimensional representation of the 4 Hour Line Plot. For a single data point, plots a D surface of the value vs. hours of the day vs. days. Scatter Plot Plots the value of any two selected data points as one XY series over the chosen time period. Statistical Report Displays the maximum, minimum, and average values for one or more points over the user-specified time span. The report also displays the timestamp for when the values occurred. Histogram Displays frequency and cumulative percent distribution for userdefined value bins for a single point. Single Digital Point Totals For a single digital data point, reports the total hours that the point was in state 0 and state over the chosen time period. Also charts the hours of each state in a histogram. Multi-Point Digital Totals For more than one digital data point, reports the total hours that the point was in state 0 and state over the chosen time period. Also charts the percent of total hours each point was in each state. Data Viewing and Export For one or more data points, displays the archived interval data over the report time period in a tabular grid for viewing, printing, and export to Excel or other tools for further analysis. 8
9 Data Analyst 4 4 Select the point to be graphed. If you wish to do a Multi-Point Trend, you could choose several points here. Select the beginning and ending dates and the comparison dates using the graphing controls. Select the Show options button if you would like to add additional options for the report. Additional items include display feature options and report features as indicated by the two tabs at the lower half of the screen. Select the Hide options button to remove the extra options. Choose either to Reset to start over with new data points, or Create to generate your report. Point groups can be pre-defined to simplify the data selection process. 9
10 Data Analyst Here is an example of a Multi-Point Trend report, including all relevant point information shown beneath the graph. All reports and graphs give the user several options: The Back button will take you back to the Welcome Screen. The Spreadsheet button will export all data relating to the report to CSV format, for use in a spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel. The Save button will allow the user to save the report. It gives the user the options of choosing the report name, and if they want the report to available to one or more users. The Print button will bring up a print-friendly version of for the selected report. Once the graph is shown, the user can just go to file then print. 0
11 Energy Analyst The Energy Analyst provides pre-configured, customizable energy-oriented graphs for consistent report generation. Select the desired report. Reports include Snap Shot Summary, Summary Report, Time Interval Report, Average Hourly Profile, Aggregate Demand Summary, Aggregate Peak Load and Enterprise View. (See next page)
12 Energy Analyst The Energy Analyst provides pre-configured, customizable energy-oriented graphs for consistent report generation. Summary Report Reports total consumption amounts for one or more commodity points over a user-selected time period. Time Interval Report Reports total consumption amounts for different time intervals including by hour, day, month, or year for one to five points or point groups, for the selected time period. Average Hourly Profile Reports the average hourly consumption profiles for hours through 4 for one to five points or point groups. Aggregate Demand Summary Generates a one page summary of monthly consumption totals, maximum, and minimum demand levels and load factor for one point or point group. Aggregate Peak Load Generates a stacked area graph that shows consumption levels for one or more points and reports the peak demand level and top contributors to the peak demand. Load Duration Curve Reports how many hours for a given period a load is at or above any given level of demand.

14 Alarm Manager The Alarm Manager is designed to alert you of alarm conditions occurring throughout the Enterprise and provide a means to facilitate quick response and resolution. The Alarm Manager notifies the appropriate parties via text pager or of the need to respond to the alarm. The Alarm Events report lists the details of all current and archived alarm events for the points and/or point groups that you specify. The Alarm Totals report provides the total number of alarm events, based on userdefined alarm filters. The Alarm Dispatcher is an effective tool to dispatch unresolved alarms, self-assign alarms, and view only those alarms assigned to you. It is especially beneficial in environments where there is a high-volume of alarms that need to be dispatched to operators or a call center. 4
15 Alarm Manager The Alarm Events Report has several options that can organize alarm settings and features Alarms can be sorted based on different criteria, such as point name, Severity, Date & Time, & Priority. All alarm states and priorities are based on a customer-defined hierarchy. Each alarm must be acknowledged and assigned to an operator. Each alarm must be checked as resolved to remove from the screen. Comments regarding each alarm can provided by the operator. Each alarm can be presented in graphical format by selecting the alarm with a right click of the mouse. 5
16 Smartphone Users LOAD watch MOBILE LOAD watch MOBILE is a smartphone application that provides fast, accurate, up-to-theminute information without the need of a PC. Access information on the go, where ever you go! The application will work on any smartphone. Features include: Current usage information, as well as historical data. Graphing of data, with option of ing the information directly from your smartphone. Weather information for your current location. Accessing The Application There are a few ways to access the LOAD watch MOBILE app depending on your device. The general link for this app is which you can then bookmark. However, for easier access to the app on your BlackBerry or iphone, we suggest you follow the instructions below. BlackBerry BlackBerry users are able to install the LOAD watch MOBILE app, which will allow them to access their usage information with one click. Please, follow the below instructions.. Go to from your BlackBerry browser.. Click on the Download link at the bottom of the page to initiate the LOAD watch MOBILE app installation.. After the installation is over, you can access the LOAD watch MOBILE app from the Downloads folder. 6
17 Smartphone Users iphone iphone users are able to setup a LOAD watch MOBILE app shortcut (Webclip Icon) that will allow them to access their usage information with one click. Please, follow the below instructions.. Go to from your iphone browser, and click on + at the bottom to bookmark the page.. Click on the Add to Home Screen option to create the LOAD watch MOBILE app shortcut.. After the setup is over, you can access the LOAD watch MOBILE app by clicking on the shortcut. Using The Application Login and Security Login sessions automatically expire after 0 minutes of inactivity. To ensure the data confidentiality, log out after using this application. This is done by clicking on Logout at the top-right of the site. Point Status The Point Status page displays names and values of all enabled/checked points for a user. The current user is indicated in the menu bar. Should a point not have a value, it will not be listed. Clicking on the Refresh link refreshes the page, allowing you to view the latest point values. The color of the background indicates the alarm Status: High- High, High, Normal, Low, and Low-Low. Move the cursor over the point name to see the Company and Site the point belongs to. 7
18 Smartphone Users Point Graph A daily graph of a point can be obtained by clicking on the point name or value on the Point Status page. To change the date of the data displayed, please use the navigation links above the graph. A click on the Choose Date navigation button displays a calendar. Select the desired month and year by clicking on the left/right/down icons within the calendar, and then click on the desired day. Clicking on the envelope icon in the upper-right corner of the graph spawns a dialog box for sending the graph in an . Please note that there needs to be at least one address associated with your LOAD watch account to be able to use this feature. Preferences Edit the list of points using the Preferences page. All the points that are available for the logged-in user are organized by Company and Site(s) in a tree. Navigate through the tree by expanding the elements listed until the level with the desired points is reached. Clicking on a point name will add or remove the point from the Point Status page; a check symbol in front of the point name indicates that the point is presently on the list of displayed points. This point selection will affect the Point Status page, where the points will be listed in the order they were added. The very first level in the point-tree contains a group called Current Point List; expanding this group will reveal all previously added points. Move the cursor over the point name to see which Company and Site the point belongs to. 8
19 Smartphone Users Current Weather Link Move the cursor over the current weather information on the right side of the menu bar to see the configured location and time info. Click on the link to change the zipcode. To get the most current weather info, refresh the page using your browser's refresh button. Need more detailed inforrmation? 20 Question and answers: Q: What if I cannot access the website? A: Check to see if you can load up other sites (ie. yahoo.com). If you can not pull up any websites, check your network settings or contact your network administrator. If only our site in not responding, contact our operations center at or help@load-watch.com. Q: This is the first time I have logged on. Why is it asking to install all these plug-ins? A: Our LOAD WATCH interface requires these components to display graphs and charts correctly. Once installed, you will not be prompted again on that specific PC or laptop. Q: What if I cannot load the required ActiveX components? A: Check with your network administrator to make sure you have permission to load plug-in components on your PC or laptop. If necessary, contact a SOC System Specialist at the number or listed above, and we will assist you. Q: What if an updated screen is not showing recent changes. A: Click F5 to refresh the website and see if item resolves itself (This may take a couple times to take effect). You can also check your Internet Options in Internet Explorer. Go to Troubleshooting Tools/Internet Options/Temporary Internet Files/Settings. Make sure Every Visit to the page option is selected. If still no changes, contact the SOC Center. Q: I am not getting the alarms I requested, how do I get myself added? A: Verify your and/or pager number and service provider, then contact the SOC Center and someone will assist you. 0
