1 Website Report Target Audience The target audience for my website is for families or people who like outdoor activities. This place would be for people who like to have fun and who would also like to keep fit. They would also like to have a lot of fun in warm or cold weather conditions. This would help them understand more about the activities Action Pursuits have and they could also recommend it to family and friends. 10 Evaluation In this section below I will be evaluating and reviewing my website I created for Action Pursuits. The following will contain Navigation, Graphics, Use of Colour, Content, Readability, Page Layout and Hyperlinks. Navigation My website needed to have a suitable structure. For me to get a suitable structure for my website I had to create a navigation structure and think of a target audience. This helped me to get a suitable structure for my website. For my website to be able to move from page to page I needed to have a navigation bar. The navigation bar is always at the top of the page and it always allowed me to get from page to page. I know this because I tested it. On my website I am able to get to the home page by a home button. The home button is in the navigation which makes this consistent. For me to be able to have a good loading time on my website I had to compress my video. For me to do this I had to save my video as a MP4. I also had a slide show which I think could have been better. The reason being is because I didn t save the picture into a smaller format. Graphics The graphics in my website had to be clear and attractive. A good thing about my graphics is that they are attractive. I know this because my target audience told me so. For me to see if they were clear I tested it throughout my website. The graphics on each page where contributed to the purpose. I know this because any graphics I had in my website where to do with that activity/page. These graphics also contributed to the target audience. The graphics in my website took a bit longer to load. This is because I did not compress them into JPEG format. I could have went back and fixed them. Use of Colour The colour that I have used in my website adds to the appearance. I know this because Action Pursuits is an activity company and the colours that are used need to be bright so that it stands out. For me to find out if my website is attractive and appealing to most visitors I would need to do a survey. This would allow me to understand what I need to fix in my website. Content In my website there is a suitable balance of digital assets. There is only one page that doesn t and that is the video page. I didn t have enough time to add text. There is a suitable amount of pictures in my website. My website was tailored to their needs and met the user requirements. For me to keep up with the user requirements I created a contact form which aloud users to send in request. I know this because I tested it. I also had a video page which was allowing users to hear about someone else s experience at Action Pursuits.
11 Readability My website had to be easily read by the target audience. My website is aimed at teenagers and adults. On each page I had to balance everything out because teenagers don t like reading and adults would like a lot of information. Teenagers wouldn t care about the prices but adults would. There was a logical sequence in my website. I had three activity pages, same amount of info and same layout on each so this was a consistent sequence. The font type and style had to be attractive. For me to find out if it was attractive would have done a survey. Computers in the school only have one web browser which is internet explorer so I couldn t find out if it worked on any other browser. Page Layout In my website there was a good use of white space. All of the pages except video had a good use of white space which made the balance just right. Hyperlinks All of the hyperlinks work on my website. I know this because I tested them. All of the hyperlinks are easy to find because the mouse changed when hovering over one and also keywords are highlighted. My PDF is linked with my website. The hyperlinks are mostly located at the top of the page on the navigation bar and some on the video and contact us pages.
