1 Full Sail University - Creative Presentation Assignment 2.4 Presentation Plan Pitch for responsive website update to Liberty Port, LLC Audience: Presentation specifically for: o Parker Turner President, Liberty Port o Garrett Turner Vice President, Liberty Port o Consideration Presentation will need to have at least a printable and shareable version (PDF s are ideal) for ease of distribution to stakeholders who will not be present for the meeting. Client information: o Technology sector client, primarily volume B2B sales o Office environment is casual; however, sales/executives regularly travel to Dubai, Shanghai etc. to conduct enterprise level business deals. o Multiple previous successful projects completed with client previously, including motion graphics, branding, and three other sites over the past several years. Presentation Beginning: The Big Idea o It s time for an update. o Technology has changed dramatically over the past few years, specifically the rise of mobile technology and the creation of responsive web design to adapt to the now ever changing needs of IoT enabled devices. o While ios devices have controlled form factors, Android OS devices have a much wider range of display options; thereby positioning responsive design, rather than adaptive, as the solution of choice. o Statistics provided by Investis IQ Research Q

2 Middle: Digital trends Decrease in desktop traffic to corporate websites

3 Trending increase in mobile traffic Why going responsive is important (SEO) o LibertyPort is not currently responsive; and the trend towards mobile viewing is clearly on the rise o A dedicated mobile site will end up splitting traffic between the desktop site and the mobile site, which can result in poor data; not to mention the added costs associated with maintaining two sites instead of one o A properly designed responsive website will act as a catch all combining all your traffic (both mobile and desktop), improving SEO, and providing a better experience and lower bounce rate for mobile users

4 End: Key takeaways o The global trend towards mobile browsing is not slowing down any time soon, and mobile visits to corporate websites are up 68% o SEO is especially important since 54% of traffic to corporate web sites is originating from search engines o The best option to improve the mobile site experience and SEO would be to implement a responsive site for LibertyPort Responsive/relevant experience o ARM.com has just been partially re-launched as a responsive experience, with more updates already in the works. o I was the only UX/UI designer on the entire project, handling user experience, user interface, and a large portion of front-end coding. o The lead developer (server side and advanced front end coding) I worked with on the project is also my new business partner. o In theory, Liberty Port could have a new responsive site done by the same bulk of the force responsible for a $32.5 bn (USD) company s new responsive site. o ARM provides IP for most Liberty Port s partners, so both the lead developer and I are both now very well versed in the specifics around this industry. Design Treatment Sample o (Mocked up visual of above the fold treatments for site idea represented viewing on various platforms) Contact information/closing o (Mockup visual of business card on left side, flat logo and contact text on right hand side)

5 Considerations Software/Tools: PowerPoint o Acts as the backbone for the main tool I will be using to create the actual finished presentation. Also, extremely useful for creating matching distributable copies of the presentation without additional effort. Articulate storyline o Simple to use, fast production method. Especially useful for lighter presentations, but capable of producing extremely robust interactive pieces. Adobe audition voiceover recording and sound file cleanup o Sound production tool I am most comfortable with. There are a multitude of alternatives, but given the time constraints this makes the most sense. Adobe Illustrator vector elements (logos/charts/icons/graphs) o Industry standard for vector graphics. Potential alternative would be Sketch, but that has limitations as it is an OSX specific program without a Windows version. Adobe Photoshop raster graphics (visuals/backgrounds) o Industry standard for raster graphics. I have not found a better alternative yet. Extensis Suitcase Fusion font management o Various additional options, not even particularly necessary for most people. This just happens to be the one I personally like the best so that s what I ll be using. Potential Obstacles: Production time o It will take a certain amount of time to re-create all the visual elements in a branded format, in addition to creating the visual mockup sample for the end of the presentation. These elements are non-negotiable. o In addition to the individual elements themselves, I will need to create a customized set of slides for the presentation that are appropriate to the various content types while maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout the presentation. o Depending on how much time creating the elements and the template takes, it may affect my ability to do more interesting motion graphics and I may have to make the decision to scale back from my ideal solution. The method to

6 take this into consideration is to limit where the additional motion graphics would be occurring and have an interim solution in place; something that would be acceptable if time does not allow for a more elegant solution. Voiceover o Statistically, everyone hates the sound of their own voice when played back on recording. This will be especially problematic for me because I m used to having the option of using a professional voiceover actor for narration, so the additional frame of reference is going to be particularly painful. Timeline o In addition to my day job and the degree program, taking on the Liberty Port job would be a lot to complete in a standard timeframe. Previously, the client has been understanding that they are getting a price break since my availability is limited and therefore the work will take longer to complete. Scope o In my preliminary conversations with stakeholders on other projects recently, a lot of them are starting to hear a lot of buzzwords that they seem to think they must have. Everything they ve tossed around thus far is completely accomplishable, but the increases to scope and pricing seem to indicate that most business decision makers are unaware as to the level of effort required to accomplish some of the more complicated features available today. Secure document delivery on a paid user basis seems to be a consistent ask; this is more easily accomplishable through third party services for small companies but it isn t cheap.
