I don t recognize all of these Standard Queries. How are they different from the old Monitors? What else can I do in the new Monitors/Queries tab?
2 How do I select my Query? Similar to the old Monitors tab, the new Monitors/Queries tab has a drop down box in the upper left corner. Prior, there were 11 monitor types to choose from, now we offer 12. To run any of these queries, simply open the drop down, point to the query you want and click. The query will run automatically with your results appearing in the bottom half of the screen. 2
3 Someone told me I could personalize the Standard Queries and even create brand new Queries of my own, is that true? Yes! With the new Monitors/Queries tab, the first time you run any Standard Query in the Monitors/Queries tab, you ll be presented with 9 default columns you can add/delete as many columns as you wish and then choose the Save button at the top of the screen. This will save your column selection for that specific Standard Query. You re always able to change the column selection and re-save at any time should your needs change. Regarding brand new query creation you can add/delete columns and apply any filters and sorting you wish for your specific business requirements. If you plan to use that specific query more than once, you can save it and name it with any name that is recognizable to you for future use. Saving Column Display: Saving New Custom Queries: The best part about both of the above features is that they apply to your username only so you don t have to ever worry about overwriting someone else s Query it s all yours!! Special Note: You can Manage Your Queries and select your Default Query at any time by accessing Manage My Queries under the Query Drop Down box. 3
4 I used to be able to add a note from the Monitors tab, can I still do that? Absolutely! Adding a note works the same way it has in the past. Simply check off the box next to the PO(s) that you wish to add the note to and click the Add Note link. You ll be prompted as before to choose a Note Type, Enter a Subject, and Enter the Note. 4
5 I need to make an order Hot. How do I do it? Great question! Hot orders are now referred to as PRIORITY. Changing their Priority Status is as easy as checking off the box next to the PO(s) that you wish to change and clicking the Change Priority Status link. Like before, the PO number will appear in red text when it is given a PRIORITY Status. Helpful Hint: If you want to see all of your PRIORITY POs at once, use the Standard Query at the top left of the screen called PRIORITY. After you change it to Priority you ll see the red text take immediate effect. 5
6 I need to filter my results How do I do it? In the old monitors, there were four options for filtering results with the new Monitors/Queries, we ve added over 80 filterable columns! Once you run a query and results appear in the bottom portion of the screen, you can filter by any of the columns on screen. Looking for a specific Vendor? Filter by VENDOR NAME! Only need Vessel moves? Filter by BKG MOT! 6
7 I thought you said there were over 80 columns to filter by, but I only see nine. Yes, there are over 80 columns to filter from; however, only nine display when you first access the Monitors/Queries tab. But, you can add (and filter by) as many as you want. Above the results, there is an option to Select Columns, choose the columns that apply to you and Reload the Table Data using the green colored button. Columns are grouped by PO, Shipment (and Product) with a date section for each (Product columns are only displayed when in the Product view). 7
8 The new interface is great! Can I still export the data to Excel? Yes, like before you can export your query results directly to an Excel worksheet. Instead of checking off the fields to be exported as you did in the past, you ll get an export of every column that you ve chosen to display on your screen. Whether you choose to have the two fixed columns (PO Number & Booking Number) or you choose to have all 80+ available is up to you! Remember, this means that if you want additional fields exported, you ll have to add them to your results first (See FAQ: I thought you said there were over 80 columns to filter by, but I only see nine) To export the fields you see on the screen, click the Export All link. You ll be prompted to either download or the file. 8
9 Where are all my icons for Viewing / Editing / Tracking POs and Accessing the Audit Trail? All of the features you re used to are still easily accessible from the Monitors/Queries tab but they ve been consolidated into a new icon. Click the List icon to see the options available to your specific user setup. 9
10 Wow! There are a lot of filters. What do they all mean? 10
11 I don t recognize all of these Standard Queries. How are they different from the old Monitors? Most of the standard queries remain the same as before but here are a few that have slight changes: All Active POs are all POs that are Open (not Closed or Canceled), and that haven t yet arrived in full at destination. This is a new query offered to help increase visibility. Available are the list of POs that are available to be booked. This list is similar to the old OPEN Monitor; however, POs that are in the Late Unbooked status are now included here. Priority is the same as the old HOT Monitor the only difference is its name! What else can I do in the new Monitors/Queries tab? The new Monitors/Queries tab offers tons of options too many to list here. Below are a few highlights, but the best way to see what it offers is to use it! Custom Queries: Start off with a standard query and add / remove filters for your specific business needs. Use the Run Query button to re-run the query. Saving Queries: After custom-tailoring your query, the option to save is available for next time you enter the system. Simply use the SAVE button to name and save the query you ve created. Moving Columns: All columns except the first two (PO and Booking) can be re-ordered through a dragand-drop method. The first two can be swapped by clicking the. 11
