4 Introduction KWizCom SharePoint 2007 Wiki Plus is an advanced, comprehensive and complete Wiki solution for SharePoint. Its unique additional features make it the ideal tool for true crossorganization knowledge sharing. Wiki Plus is compatible with MOSS 2007 standard and enterprise editions. 5 Product Overview True, SharePoint-based Enterprise Wiki solution. KWizCom Wiki Plus is an advanced, comprehensive and complete Wiki solution based on Microsoft SharePoint platform. Its unique additional features make it the ideal tool for true cross-organization knowledge sharing. Wiki Plus was built on-top of MOSS 2007 infrastructure, allowing you to use all standard SharePoint features together with comprehensive Wiki capabilities. The advanced wiki features and the natural integration with SharePoint platform provide the most productive and cost effective tool for real collaboration and knowledge sharing across the enterprise. 7 Support for standard Wiki markup language Wiki Plus supports standard wiki markup language. While the out-of-the-box SharePoint wiki library only supports the [[page]] markup, which enables the creation of new wiki pages while editing an existing page, Wiki Plus supports almost the entire wiki markup standard. Supported wiki tags are fully described in appendix A. Improved content editing capabilities Wiki Plus provides an enhanced Wiki and HTML WYSWYG editor (based on Telerik editor control) for SharePoint Wiki pages. The Wiki Plus editor facilitates the production of high quality web pages providing enhanced Web/Wiki editing features. Some of its additional features are: Support for Wiki Markup We have implemented a Wiki Markup parser, embedded in this new editor and thus enabling users who are familiar with the Wiki markup to keep using this markup inside the SharePoint environment. Enable easy linking between wiki pages With the Wiki Plus editor you can implement various wiki sites 7

8 and easily link between pages located in different wiki libraries/sites, by using the "Add link to an existing wiki page" wizard: Wiki content templates now you can create various wiki page templates for different content requirements simple as creating a WORD template! Easy management of file attachments Want your wiki page to include file attachments? No problem! Use the Document manager to upload and link to any documents in a single operation: 8

9 Embedding of object such as tables, pictures, symbols, time and date powerful and flexible Insertion of contents snippets such as o Order confirmation o signature o Problem report feedback Insertion of web links either freely or from pre-prepared lists Complete Tagging Solution Wiki Plus includes a SharePoint Tagging Feature that provides you with a complete tagging solution for the wiki pages. Some of the tagging capabilities are: Tag field type When editing a wiki page you can tag it manually or by using the auto complete feature: Tag Cloud The tag cloud enables you to find wiki content by tags and to 9

10 subscribe to certain tags. Tags Index The Tag index displays all existing tags ordered by ABC, enabling users to view all wiki pages by tag, and subscribe for an alert when there s new/updated content linked to a required tag. 10

11 Support for RSS feeds/alerts Subscriptions Users may subscribe to an RSS feed/ alert about added and changed pages. Any page addition or update will generate an RSS feed/ alert. 11

12 Page-level discussions Users can create a discussion thread that is automatically connected to a wiki page, by simply clicking the Discussions button: Content lifecycle management This Wiki Plus feature enables the content owner to define the desired expiration date for each Wiki page. During page editing, the following window appears at the bottom of the editor window: When the page s is about to expire, the page owner will receive an alert informing him that the page is about to be expired. The owner will then have the option to confirm expiration or set a new expiration date. 12

13 Advanced reporting Wiki Plus provides a set of usage reports, based on actual wiki pages creation and updates. Authorized Users (those who belong to the Knowledge Trustees group) can access the wiki plus reports through the Wiki Pages Actions menu: Administrators can access the Wiki Plus reports through the Site Actions > Site Settings menu: 13

16 Fully-customizable Wiki Plus is a SharePoint add-on. As such, it is completely built out of standard SharePoint modules: Features, Master page, site template, Library template, content types and web parts. This means that while you deploy Wiki Plus, you still benefit from ALL other SharePoint features, integrated in your enterprise wiki solution (Search, alerts, permissions, versions, web parts etc.). So, customizing Wiki Plus to any needed Collaboration business need is as easy as customizing standard SharePoint! Wiki Plus exposes all graphic elements, so its layout can be fully customized by customers and integrators. All styles are defined in a standard CSS file located in: Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\template\layouts\kwizcom_wikiplus\defaultwiki.css. The top banner is located in the same folder and can be replaced with your own requested banner. For detailed customization guidelines please review Wiki Plus Customization guide. 16

17 Installation Software prerequisites Server Requirements 1. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) Client PC Requirements 2. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6+ SP1 / Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 / Mozilla Firefox Installation Procedure New Installation 1. Log in as local admin to your SharePoint server. 2. Unzip the KWizCom SharePoint Wiki Plus zip file on your WSS/SPS server. 3. Double-click the setup.bat file. It will install the following products by order: a. KWizCom SharePoint Tagging Feature b. KWizCom SharePoint Rating Solution c. KWizCom Wiki Plus Remark: If you already have the KWizCom SharePoint Tagging Feature or the SharePoint Rating solution installed on the server, do NOT execute the setup.bat. Instead, browse to the KWizCom Wiki Plus sub folder, and execute its.msi installation file. 4. When the installation process is complete it will recycle all application pools automatically. 17

18 Install Wiki Plus on existing installation 1. Log in as local admin to your SharePoint server. 2. Remove the existing Wiki Plus installation: 3. Install Wiki Plus as described in the "New Installation" section above. 4. In order to update the existing pages' layout with the new changes made in version , run the upgrade utility: Go to Start>All Programs>KWizCom>SharePoint WikiPlus Solution>Upgrade Existing WikiPlus site 18

19 Post Installation 1. After completion of the installation, a new KWizCom entry will appear in Windows Start -> All Programs -> KWizCom containing the following programs: Wiki Export&Import these are command line utilities that enable exporting the SharePoint wiki pages and import them into Wiki Plus libraries. About SharePoint Wiki Plus Display general information about the product. Activate SharePoint Wiki Plus This utility enables you (the SharePoint Administrator) to activate the product for use. Upgrade Existing WikiPlus Solution This utility enables you (the SharePoint Administrator) to upgrade update Wiki Plus pages (if you have a Wiki Plus v installed) with the new version's layout (this is optional). 2. In order to activate Wiki Plus in existing site collections, you will have to activate the following site collection features by order (For mew wiki Plus installation only): a. KWizCom Tagging Feature b. Wiki Plus Library Resources Feature 19

20 3. For new site collections these features will automatically become active. Please review the Administration Guide for configuration instructions. Please review the Customization Guide for a sort of customizations instructions. 20

21 Wiki Plus Localization All KWizCom components use.net localization mechanism. This means that a KWizCom component will automatically use a language resource files according to the displayed application's language (this is true for all types of components). The following steps are required in order to create a new resource file for any required language: 1. Open C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\resources folder. 2. Copy wikiplus.resx file and rename it to the required language, for example: wikiplus.en-us.resx 3. Open the file in any editor and translate all text captions 4. Save the file. 5. Copy the file into App_GlobalResources folder for each web application or run COPYBIN command using STSADM 21

22 Component Activation KWizCom components are available for evaluation prior to purchase. This way you can try our components and verify that they indeed meet your needs. An evaluation version for each KWizCom component contains all features of the component's production version. The only difference is that an evaluation version is timelimited, and will operate for a period of one month. Once you decide to order a KWizCom component, you will need to follow the following steps: 1. Order the component on the KWizCom website 2. Send us the installed evaluation version's product Code (you will see the product Code on the "About" product page: Product Code Please use the Activation Request web form, on KWizCom web site to send us your product code. 3. Get the component activation key this key will be sent to you by once your order is processed. 4. Activate your installed evaluation version - click Start -> All Programs -> KWizCom -> SharePoint Wiki Plus -> Activate SharePoint Wiki Plus 22

23 FAQ What is Wiki Plus? KWizCom Wiki Plus is a complete, SharePoint-based enterprise wiki solution. Wiki Plus is fully integrated with MOSS 2007, thus provides you with enhanced wiki features together with all other SharePoint features security, search, web part pages etc. What do we do with our existing wiki content? No problem! You can export all existing SharePoint wiki pages and then import them into Wiki Plus libraries using a wiki to wiki plus migration utility. Can we change Wiki Plus graphics and deploy our company brand? Sure you can! Wiki Plus exposes its style sheet and graphic files, so you can fully customize the graphic appearance. Do I have to install anything on my company's client-pcs? No. Wiki Plus is a server installation. What is a Knowledge Trustee? Knowledge trustee defines a user who has Wiki knowledge management rights. When Wiki Plus is installed, a new Knowledge Trustees group is created. All users that belong to this group are able to: Redefine a page expiration date Restore previous versions of a wiki page Delete a page 23

24 Define a default address to which alerts will be sent for a page which has no owner Delete the owner name for a page. Create a Wiki Plus page template. 24
