13 What is the Year-End Wizard? The Sage 50 Year-End Wizard walks you through the process of closing out your first open fiscal year, payroll tax year, or both. Sage 50 allows you to keep two (2) years open at a time. If your current open years are 2016 & 2017, when you run the Year-End Wizard, it will close the year 2016, thus making your new open years 2017 & If your fiscal year matches a standard calendar year, you will close both your payroll year and fiscal year at the same time, because the payroll year is always a calendar year. If you have a unique fiscal year (e.g. October 1 September 30) you can close your payroll year and fiscal year separately Sage Software, Inc. All rights reserved. 11/20/

14 What to do before running the Year-End Wizard It s recommended that you run the Year-End Wizard during a time when no other users need to access Sage 50. The Year-End Wizard is a single-user process, and it can take several hours to complete. If you are in an multi user environment, run the Year-End wizard from your SERVER machine. Print any unprinted items such as invoices and checks Make sure there are no Purchase Invoices that are marked Waiting on Bill. The Year-End Wizard will not allow you to continue until you cancel the wizard and uncheck the Waiting on Bill box on your open Purchase Invoice.
